@gamemaker1234 You need to wait until you have enough paragon in order to performe this, and you need to have all four bars on the shock trooper, so untill you are almost a bar away from full paragon, and until you have all four bars of the shock trooper, you need to wait. If you have full paragon or almost full paragon, and all four bars on the shock trooper, then you can choose the paragon choise.

All my crew were loyal to me going into the final battle except for Miranda after I sided with Jack. To avoid Miranda dying the best way I did it was to NOT assign her to any major roles, I had Kasumi go through the vent, Jacob led the first time and I brought Miranda and Tali with me. Samara did the shield with Miranda and Tali with me and Garrus in charge of the 2nd team. Sent Mordin back with the crew. Final part left Miranda at the door with the heavy hitters. All my crew survived this way.

This is how I did it to get the Trophy: difficulty= casual (goto the options menu and turn it on), everyone (ALL 10 characters) on squad is loyal except Miranda (I didn't have Zaeed), Tech Expert= Tali, Diversion Team Leader= Garrus, then when you have the option to reselect your squad for the SECOND TIME (not the first time when you leave the ship to start your mission)... I used: Mordin and Tali, Biotics Expert= Samara, and my Escort= Jacob.

I only had heavy armor plating for the ship before i started..... Thane died with the ship crashing in on him, tali died when the explosion happened, i sent jack to escort the crew back and she died, when legion was closing the door he was shot with a rocket and died, grunt was killed by the swarms, and samara was killed when i killed the reaper.....i now only have jacob, miranda and garrus...WOOT

@Sebthecrazy99 no, did it once with 2 characters not being loyal including Zaeed. Just make sure you take only loyal members with you and also give crucial tasks to loyal team mates. And well, as already said here. Zaeed/Garrus/Grunt have highest defense stats, so make sure they are staying behind to provide cover. And well, Mordin is the best choice to escort your crew back to ship, since according to "common gospel" he tends to die even if everything else is fine.

Here is my gameplan it works everytime!!!! flawless for my Soldier and infiltrator

Tech:Tali loyal!!

Fire team: Garrus make sure he is loyal

Escort:Mordin loyal(Mordin has high chance of dying otherwise)

Biotics:Samara loyal

2nd fire team:Garrus Loyal

Hold the line:be sure to leave Garrus, Zaeed and Grunt your crew will survive

For final battle I recommend you bring Legion with widow rifle, and any squad member with biotics.

MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE GARRUS, ZAEED AND GRUNT.

I had Legion take care of the hacking, took Grunt and tali with me the whole way through, Miranda lead the fire team both times, Garrus took care of the crew, and samara handled the biotic field. got everybody out no problem.

If that final assault on that base doesn't make you feel like a badass, you haven't played this game yet.

@ultimatepie27 I've tried a few combos of team members just because this fight is so damn epic. lol. I like Tali and Grunt though just because Grunt can soak up a ton of damage, and Tali's combat drone gives you a 4th "person" to draw fire. Legion and Tali if you're a sentinel though (i'm a soilder) would mean 2 teamamtes, and 3 combat drones total...probably just unfair at that point. lol.

@shadowghost54 Actually, Grunt has the highest defensive point count. Zaeed has the second highest. The order the team will die in left at the final stand from first to last is this. Mordin, Tali, Kasumi, Jack, Miranda, Jacob, Garrus, Samara (or Morinth), Legion, Thane, Zaeed, and Grunt.

On a completely unrelated note, I dont see how people are having trouble with the last mission. I got everyone out alive the first time long before all these guides started appearing.

That was mainly my downfall because I didn't upgrade the Normandy that much cause I didn't know it would have a big impact on the end of the game. As long as I don't lose more than like 2 people I'll be happy but getting that "No One Left Behind" achievement would be cool. I'll be re-playing through the first Mass Effect then the 2nd before Mass Effect 3 comes out.

Ok, so Miranda isn't loyal to me anymore cause I couldn't choose the paragon/renegade parts when Jack & Miranda argued. So I sided with Jack, thinking I could get Miranda loyal again. Still couldn't do the paragon/renegade dialogues. Wasn't happy! But if I leave Miranda with the crew, to help guard the door, instead of taking her to the final fight, will she live?

The only way I know, to get the dialogue, is to be a soldier and upgrade your combat training to 4, then you get a choice between a shock trooper and a commando. Each with their own advantages. CHOOSE SHOCKTROOPER. It gives a 100% Paragon/Renegade upgrade meaning that you can solve the Jack Miranda situation. Commando, only gives you around 70% - which isnt good enough - a mistake I made in my first play through :/
