  • If anyone is interested, there is going to be a nationwide protest against prop 8 on Nov 15th. Here in L.A., it's at City Hall and starts at 10:30AM.

  • they claim to be so peace, loving tree humpers left wing lieberals but they will be the first to start trouble and riot, break the law push a OLD lady around. they worry about me and my guns , not hardly Black and Mexicans voted this down while voting OBAMA in and OBAMA supports gay marrage, see how clear this was a SKIN issue that got him in and little more lol

  • What? There wasn't a riot. The protest was largely peaceful. 15 people were arrested and the rest were not breaking the law. What old lady was pushed around? Was it you?

  • docthewrench, fuck you

  • Obama doesn't support gay marriage, he simply opposes a Constitutional ban on it.

And we don't start the trouble. Bigotry and denial of equal rights starts the trouble.

  • I totally agree on denial of equal rights. My people have never ever gotten these equal rights you speak about. The only rights we really ever got was to be destroyed and wiped out. So when do I gte my equal rights, there isnt many of my people left anymore to fight for them. But I can look at eery single WHITE and BLACK man and demand money from them. That is anyone who claims to have been here since the mid 1800s One day my people we get our land back

  • Loving tree humpers?

Obama this, Obama that - it isn't even about Obama - it is the my way or the highway attitude of the hate-filled evangelical Christian right denying people rights they want to keep for themselves.

  • Silver Lake was amazing!

  • It makes me sad that people like you are able to connect wires and actually log on to the internet.

  • i think that the inland impire really needs a rally! i was at the long beach rally as well. When the cops blocked us in on brodway i walked with a group up to 7th street. we stayed there until about 12:30am. this is not over. interracial couples couldnt marry and now gay couples cannot marry. GAY, STRAIGHT, BLACK, WHITE, MARRIAGE IS A HUMAN RIGHT!

  • PROP 8 RULES! IM SO GLAD IT PASSED!!!

  • Why does prop 8 rule? And why are you glad? Does it's passage affect you in some way?

  • i like prop 8 because it forbids gay marriage, therefore it rules. and YEs i am very happy that it passed. i dont want my kids to be taught that its ok to be gay or that its 'acceptable" because it snot. gay marriage is not a fundamental right. and also it doesnt allow STDS to be spread as much :).

  • reason ,,enjoy it for now because it will be over turned, there isnt a doubt in my mind. Every Atty I know and work with says its a no brainer, even the conservative atty's say this.

  • was this when everyone was going back to start of the march? I heard that 15 people were arrested in the end. I was there marching until around 9ish, it was extremely powerful anybody know if there are demonstrations in Orange County? I think that area in particular needs to know why 8 is hate

  • Bring it on! Your protest bring attention to the need that you as a group never get a permit to gather such a large group. Rules...you obviously don't pay attn to them. Get a permit and no one will get clubbed. That's how a civalized orderly people operate. Don't get a permit, and you have cops in riot gear telling you to disperse.

  • I think you are over-generalizing here. Saying that gay people can't get a permit and don't pay attention to the rules. All of the people (oh and btw, there were a ton of straight people with their children there too) around me at that protest were civilized and orderly. Emotions boil over and protests happen. Not always time for a permit for perceived injustice.

  • I am a HUGE supporter of No on 8 and I am straight. devachan77 was right in that families with children and straight people (like myself) walked and protested too. There was a permit involved on the first part of the evening for you information as well as the other protests...maybe you should do a little homework yourself

  • Good to know. I wasn't aware that a permit was involved. I just know that the police kept saying it was an unlawful assembly but I believe this was towards the end of the protest (when they showed up at my doorstep). Thanks lechatnoir :)

  • There is a protest on Thursday in Irvine. there was also supposed to be one today in Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach

  • w00t I was there too!

  • I was at work but caught the last part of the protest! Keep it going!

  • YES on 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i was there as well. did anybody get when they started hitting.the news is no reporting that. Leaving out the fact that they clubbed a peaceful protest....

  • I was there for it, but my camera phone didn't catch it all. I've been searching for some video to show that what happened tonight was not ok. Cops should not be beating down peaceful protestors.

  • I had my camera and have pics of the cops and us (the protesters) up until right before the first hitting. My cam was acting up and delaying shots, so I don't have any after that for when they started repeatedly charging us and pinning us.

  • I was in the group that got pinned next to the news truck and house/shrubs trees on the right corner facing ocean. I know that someone next to me had a video camera as well as others and that people kept saying to film it. I even saw that lady with the longer trench like coat and glasses get hit and knocked to the ground during the first round.

  • Ironically, she has just been telling me how" respectful and patient they (the cops) were being." What constitutes police brutality on sitting or crouching protesters. I am also extremely upset that the news did not report any of there force.

  • They turned water hoses on people once and made history, yet they are still beating people today for raising their voice again to EQUAL RIGHTS...people NEED to know the way it really went down last night. Thank you for getting back to me. See you at the next protest....except now I'm thinking we should plan what i wear more carefully to protect myself.

  • They called it "peaceful" and that they arrested 3 people for "Inciting a riot".....because we were all sooooooooo aggressive, right? This is not OK. I'm am trying to find someone who actually caught at least those people being hit.

  • I still haven't found any footage, have you?

  • I just realized....was this shot after the hitting and charging? It looks like the cops are to the side of the street near where they pinned us...just curious....

  • This was shot closer to Atlantic and 1st. I didn't see anyone hit by the police at the locations where I was shooting. That must have happened at Redondo. LA Times is reporting that there were 15 arrests and there was a brief altercation with the police at 10:15PM.

  • It is my understanding that there was a permit for the first part (ie starting at 7, marching and speaking until 8:30pm) When we marched back down B-way and well, you know the rest, I do not think there was a permit. Thank you for your info as well devachan77. :D

  • Yeah I was just there too! and I left because people started to go to jail it was getting out of hand man that was fun Silver lake is next a 6pm this saturday! so you guys there NO ON H8!

  • i was just there too:)

  • I was there :):):):)
