The judges told Matt to go back to singing R&B. Matt looked mad when they said that. Maybe because he sang R&B last week and was in the bottom 3. He wasn't great but the judges seemed more critical of him switching genres rather than his performance.

i'm not a huge danny fan but i'm glad he said what he said about song choices.a lot of people don't know that you can't just pick any song of a genre it's one off a list or one of the ones they can get approved.i always thought it was kinda disingenuous of the judges to talk about "bad song choices" when they know that might not have been the song they wanted to sing.one year for the top 24 they had a 50 song list.that doesn't give you a lot of latitude for song choice

I am an Adam fanatic...but i HATE "Play that Funky Music" too....however.....forums on Idol indicate that Adam was going to sing Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy".....and had prepared for that..until Monday AM.......when he learned it did not get clearance.....so he had to get something together in 24 hours....so I have to give him credit for that and for being the AMAZING performer that he is.....he owns that stage when he is up there.......but he has amazing vocal ability that this song did not show.
