how many non sample based hip hop producers can you name? i can think of very few, but then again i dont like most of the shit without samples. i dont know theres so many its hard to label the 2 best with a sampler, well besides premo being the best ever. alc is definitely up there though. madlib, exile, 9th, stoupe are all dope. too bad dilla in't around cuz some of his later shit was crazy as fuck. one can only wonder what he would be making at this point of his career

@FRESHPEDLLER, you're damn right! The Neptunes are pretty much the only cats that don't slip records. They used too though. remember the old Clipse joint called the Funeral? They may do interpolations also, but they're the best to do it that don't sample. And no one say Dre or Timbo, cause they both sample HEAVY!

im not a huge fan of the neptunes but they might just take smaller samples instead of chopping up loops ect. timbo had a big lawsuit for basically jacking a whole song and layering on top of it. id consider dre in the middle since he has people to play piano parts ect . an prob timbo as well. someone like 9th id consider heavy but thats really all relative.
