  • I heard this song on Everybody hates chris

  • It took me 4 years to finally find out the name of this song!!!! It would occasionally come out on the radio and I would go nuts trying to find out the name of this song!!!!! Now, I shall rape the replay button :)

  • I won't stop and falter

  • 1985 - die welt war noch in ordnung

  • This song is about 2 homos being scared about having anal sex for the 1st time - the chorus is their orgasm

  • Its '86 , I'm back on the Easter Shore with OC104 and Kasey Kasem just hit us with the top 40

  • i love this song love the harmony on the hook

  • On just the technical aspects of song writing of song writing Mr. Jones' puts on a clinic. The fact that he can make it rock is real talent at work. An icon song of the era among some pretty stiff competition. I like What is Love better just for personal reasons but this song is so inspirational it is impossible not to buy into the message.

  • Howard Jones was a kind of genius for his day. North Americans were stunned by this blonde haired geeky looking guy that was pumping out these great compilations.

  • 5 people think things can only get worse.

  • @planetrockford I think it's more like 5 people feel scared...

  • @GrayRambo1 You are probably right.

  • So Awesome!

  • GREAT SONG!! = D

  • lovelovelove.

I was in homedepot when i first heard it.

    (:

  • Heeeeyyyyyy MurphysMob this is music and no the actual sounds that we are listening in this times thanks everybody for share this memories from my youth i wake up every morning and go to sleep with my 80 s music where they gone? all the artists from the best decade of music please come back to make happy all the people like me love the 80 s forever. Thanks and god bless you.

  • Howard Jones, Thompson Twins, Depeche Mode and Robert Smith (The Cure) redefined music in this new synthesized age. Unfortunately for music, "things got much worse" for music. R and B mixed with the nasty Rap genre and it brought music down to the gutter. Where it is today. It takes some most likely one or two-hit wonders like New Republic, and an occasional solo from Hayley Wiliiams or the voice of the beautiful Natasha Bedingfield.

  • @happyhoman im 15 and 80s music is all i listen to. dont forget Duran Duran!lol

  • @007IrishLad You are living the dream young man lol.

  • @007IrishLad ..proud to call this my era mate...you enjoy the many gems that are out there and still sound amazin even now.

  • CLASS OF `87!!!! 80`s FOREVER,FOREVER 80`s

  • is it just me or does this song sound extremily like duran duran?

  • @142suckerpunk Yep, when I first heard it, I thought it was Duran Duran

  • @Cherylcse3 same here

  • @142suckerpunk

i thought it was Duran Duran too.

I heard this song on the Everybody hates Chris show

and i liked it, so i tried looking for it by looking up all the Duran Duran songs on the internet.

Finally, I saw on the internet it was Howard Jones.

    Good Song!

  • Man there were some wacky hairstyles back in the 80s, but Howard was way out in front of everyone else, except perhaps Flock of Seagulls.

  • This song is so amazing! Who can not sing along with it?

  • LOL I still have that Smash Hits mag at 1:25! Is this extended mix on a CD?!

  • HELL YEAH!!!!!

  • RA RA RA RA READY TO GO

  • When Obama destroys America let's all put oour money together and buy a lot of land and we will call it Land of the 80's or something and It will be like america in the 80's.

  • Count me in!!

  • @PSNgregiskool yeah, let's

  • @PSNgregiskool obscure

  • @missxcaliforniaa Well Im 11 and i dnt no wat dat meens I wuz just kiddin haha 80s suck

  • @PSNgregiskool Yeah that was me and I am kidding, I actually love the 80's more than my PS3.

  • the picture at 2:24 is adorable, where was it taken from?

I presume some website but was it for a video shoot?

  • i wonder how much fun i wouldve had if i was twenty in the eighties! id probably be a multi- platinum artist by now. im immensly certain the olderheads from the eighties have tons of fun with their pure and genuine music.

the musical acts of today are culturally embarrassing, just look up D4L and SOLJA BOY

  • THE ONE!!

  • It seems a normal "fun" song, but if you analyze it, it's full of very good harmonics and very complex in the rythmics...

I always thought it's one of the best and highest quality songs of the 80s...

  • @fabmic not to mention the actual lyrics themselves. Honest and inspiring.

  • Awsome song miss this kind of music terribley maybe one day it will come back GREAT memories listening to this music not like this auto tune crap now.

  • 80's lives on forever!!

  • One of my favorite songs of all time!! Oh how we danced 'til dawn to this song! I heard a Howard Jones song today on the radio and when I got home I couldn't wait to hear all of them! So many good memories of my 20's!! Love him. Such a talent!!

  • This is a great example of 80s music at its best!

It just sickens me how todays people love to listen to 90s and 2000s crap and don't appreciate the talent and awsomeness of the 1980s!

    LONG LIVE THE 80s!!!

  • @LaugermanPROductions whoah whoah whoah hold on a sec

90s were actually good, and it was the final stage of the good music

there were nice musicians in the 90 and nice genres (grunce, electro but i dont know if it was from the 80)

  • @LaugermanPROductions and why did you say that the 90 were crap?

i agree with you when it comes to the 2000 but not when it comes to the 90

i like the 80s too (even if wasn´t in that decade)

  • @assholemon i agree w/ the other two posters. 90s had just as much good music in multiple genres as the 80s did. its in the 2000s (esp the last half of the decade, 2005-2010) where commercial music completely and utterly died. IMO.

  • @kcmet79- OH hell ya I think the same thing, rite on the button.. thats pretty much how I sum up my opinion on mainstream music to anyone, especially pop music.. Thank god youtube hit in 2005 haha

  • Love the pic at 0:40. He was so stylish in his younger days. ^_^ (LOVE HIS MUSIC!!)

  • Love the pic at 0:15 -Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears & Howard Jones. Sounds like an awesome concert :)

  • @KungPowMeow YES!!!!! Man, I would have looooooooove to have been there!!!

  • @vtheo Me too!

  • The 80s was a renaissance decade. A lot of inspiration swirling between bands. I could feel this movement in film and music that synched people together. Whether it was punk or big hair in oversized suits there was this underlying absurdity that became intoxicating! Just put me in a room with these people and chances are I'd like everyone of 'em.

  • damn this song is soo good, i love 80's stuff

  • peace+love

  • Este tema me encanta!!

  • excellent! 80s rock on!

  • i had this remix on vinyl!! so awesome to hear it again!

  • i also remember when this song came out, it brings back memories.

  • LOL!

I know it's kinda stupid but I kinda like the version on The SIMs 2: Open for Business Expansion pack more than the original ^_^

Depeche Mode's Suffer Well however didn't actually fit in with the genre though. They should've used some of their older stuff like People are People, Everything Counts or even Can't get Enough.

  • Woah, this is a great song!

  • @lovergirl96816

    thats right.

  • What could be better, strolling thru the Mall in the "80's" and listening to HoJo, Roxy Music, the Cars, Van Halen, Genesis and all the rest! Perfect !

  • @jdcovington lol, "HoJo"

  • @jdcovington Cruising Northern California's Highway 880 (at the "record" speed of 60 mph!) in my "sleek" charcoal-grey '84 Accord, while listening to all the '80s artists you mentioned -- and more! (Bring back those good ol' days!!!)

  • whhaaaaaoooo whaooooo whaoooooOOoooo

  • And do you feel scared? " I do: but I won't stop and falter."

  • @nothing5630 "-And if we throw it all away, things can only get better!"

  • @nothing5630 I believe that should be a semi-colon.

  • @KMZiggyStardust

    Thank you English professor.

  • this is my facebook quiz result,, still wondering why, :-(

  • Me too..... haha I dont know why either....hmmm

  • LMFAO....... Seriously I dont understand how it chose this song for me.

  • Where's the ORIGINAL?

  • This was The cut!

  • awesome song!

  • Can somebody possibly post the original promo video? Anyway it hit #4 in Billboard.

  • Same here...facebook quzzes

  • haha me 2

  • me too!

  • Woah! Oh ohha oh oh ohh oh! <3

  • endless breakdown jam ! awesome! thanks

  • You are an eternal optimist, always finding the silver lining and looking on the bright side of things. This can get a little tedious for your cranky friends, who call you Pollyanna and Goody Two Shoes behind your back, but they secretly wish they were more like you. You frequently hug and comfort strangers

  • I heard this song in the sims 2! and I loved it xDD

  • really?...i heard this song on the radio..and had to look it up..hadn't heard this since i was a kid....

  • Lol, i guess Facebook got us all here for the same reason!

  • If You Want More 80's Music, Check Out My Channel.

  • I heard this song at a place called Pizza Inn the other night. It was on my 25th birthday.

  • This song came out in 1986. Am I right?

  • Is there an actual video to this song?

  • LOL i always listen to this when i play sims 2 xD

  • I always hear this song in the morning before going to school and I didn't know who sings it but now I know!! was this guy considered cute in the 80's?

  • @humbertox lmao!

  • I totally love this song!! I remember when this song first came out.. Such good memories come with this song. Of course this one here is a remix , the original is much better for days!! Anyway, I remember hanging out with my friends and just having the best times- I sure miss those days so much!! Such great music from this era and this time of my life. Sure wish I could go back to those times in my life but at least I have the memories in my heart and the songs from the 80's ! 80's forever!!

  • @juniebird72 Amen. Cherish those memories. ^_^ I'm envious that you have some "mature" memories. Most of mine are foggy, because I was just a young kid (born in 81). I still remember a lot, though... I remember the great music on the radio at get-togethers, and out on the lake with my family. And dancing at a family 4th of july block party at the sweet and tender age of 3 or 4. Man... I'm getting misty just telling you about it. (Blessings to you!)

  • @juniebird72 I remember back in the day being a summer intern listening to this song and others and thinking how freaky the bunch I was working for were so old and weird from the sixties and they looking at me like I was a goofball kid who listened to weird music and wore weird clothes. I how summer interns now and realise they are probaly feeling the same way I did back then! heh heh heh (and it makes me feel a little old to think I think that way about them!) heh heh heh

  • I love how everyone listening to this song, got it as a result on Facebook. Like me. lol

  • @LisaMCooper hahaha, so true! XD i didn't even know this song!

  • Hahaha, that's exactly why I'm listening to it! XD

  • @caseyausherman because sims? xD

  • Haha no, because I got it as a result on Facebook, what my "80's theme" was or something. Hah.

  • I was grocery shopping on my lunch and this song was playing. It was so good to hear it.

  • Alright that's it... If I ever start/join a band, I'm making a quiz on facebook and making ALL of the results the name of my band. Instant fame.

  • u got a point

  • hahahaha me too! it's so funny!

  • lol...me too. i coudn't remember this one. why couldn't it have been something cool?

  • glad i'm not the only one doing this

  • meee toooo lmao!!! wow!

  • mine too

  • heheh...just took the fb quiz, also. Seems to me, with 10 questions (min 5 choices each), there are over 9 million possible outcomes. Howard Jones seems to be most of those outcomes ;)

  • @Octospidr OMG so did I!

  • mine too! xDDD

woah! i wanna watch the princess bride all of the sudden O.o

    facebook gets weird sometimes!

  • I had a whole dance routine for this song when I was like 4 or 5 and just took the FB quiz and this song came up as my defining 80's song too!! LOL best thing is I've always considered myself "a Pollyanna" so it was funny that was part of the definition of the personality of the song. hahaha

  • How funny I got the same song 2...guess there is allot of us that want "THINGS TO ONLY GET BETTER" may 2010 b our year:)

  • lol I just took that quiz right now and got this so of course had to listen.

  • i love this song! thanks

  • howard jones rocks!!! i'm revisitng my youth.. 80s the best in music.

  • its a bostin tune ay it

  • Songs like this and others in the 80's and early 90's transcend time and eras...much like what

shaped the years of old. The 80's music will still continue to linger and stay with you forever.

  • THE BEST PART: "...WHOA, WHOA-WHOOOAOO WHOA WHOA- WHOOOOAAA"

    hell yes.

  • woah woah woaah. This song takes me back to a late night 80s compilation infomercial I heard as a kid.

  • awesome, awesome, awesome record man.

  • I met HJ at the Grammy Awards after-party in the early 80s and had the chance to visit a bit with him. He's as smart as he is talented. He didn't have attitude. He didn't need it; he had brains and talent.

  • TVWRITERGUY: Yes, he was always a very grounded dude.

  • I LOVE this song! It's so catchy- I heard the simlish (or gibberish) version of it on the Sims 2 and it was driving me crazy! It was so catchy and then I heard it this evening on the 80's channel and got all excited cuz it was an actual song! From my fav decade, no less! :D

  • @KungPowMeow , Me too! I HAD to find it!

  • What a cool song - I loved Howard Jones - still makes me feel upbeat to hear this :)

  • He just released a song on the 26th of this month, album due out next month Ordinary Heroes.

  • They make no more songs like these and of the 80's, lucky to be of that generation. I don't listen to the new stuff much, just hear it once and shrug my shoulders. Great to find this old track it was at the top of charts for a long time those days.

  • What, only a few comments about this talented artist? The 80's had the best energetic, best sounding of all years.

  • A perfect !0!! points for creativity, continuity, transcendtal rhythm changes, great song and a really decent remix

  • found it finally fopund it love the fuckin 80s

  • ME TOOOOOOOOOO

  • As someone who came of age in the 80's, I appreciate all this music so much more nowadays. I now really realize the depth of musicianship in some of the artists from this era. I like some of today's music but there' nothing quite like music that is reflective on one's youth. Thanks so much for posting the extended version. Many thanks. And yes I admit I wanted to dance a bit myself. (and I'm a horrid dancer.) :-)

  • This song reminds me of being 15 years old. i love it(the song i mean, not the age).

  • I wish I could think of the 1980's when I think about being 15.

Instead I just think about how dull and boring pop culture was in 2007-2008.
