The best Portable dvd player on the market is the Toshiba SDP94SKB 9" Widescreen Portable DVD Player it has a 9inch screen plays divx and plays all makes of dvd discs . but it also accepts sd cards not just for viewing photographs but it also plays movies via the SD card slot meaning a 32 gb sd card could hold over 40 hours of films and tv shows . this will also increase the battery life as the disc mechanism motor wont be running as the sd has no moving parts making the battery last longer .

terrible reviewer. doesn't mention anything about the fact that it is a PAL-NTSC player (very useful when pretty much the rest of the world) and the 110-220 V power supply; also doesn't really talk about the remote which is far superior than the average ones out there.

I think it is not very attractive. watching video, movies, pictures everything can be simplied now in mobile devices. I recently come to know that a projection out of mobile is possible to have bigger screen around the corner! not a big deal!

I like my ipod. However I found many occasions where i wish i had a portable dvd player so i could watch something spontaneously or perhaps something from my dvd collection on long trips. Ipod requires data manipulation & time consuming uploads. not to mention the extremely tiny screen that you need to keep close enough to see whats going on in the movie.

No usb port but the battery lifetime is getting there. If videos came on USB sticks wouldn't battery times be longer, power usage less and all that. Couldn't you use an iPhone to watch a usb vid instead.
