@HugoReitveldz i have only one thing to say to the developers...they did not learn from SLs past. this viewer is not easy to use.. i could not even find the fucking inventory bar.when i went to the forums for help they said i must enable advanced options at login screen..... that is total shit..... the old Sl was way much better. sometimes change isn't necessarily good and someone needs to make these developers understand that.

I had to send a note and couldn't find the note giver or the make note. ie notes were just passed to the profile. Hy all, I'm in a trouble. I get 5-6 FPS and it's a crap to play. In the Graphics tab, I can adjust the sliders, I set to low all the sliders and I still get only 5 FPS. I would want to run the game at a lower resolution, like 800x600, I run my desktop at 1280x1024, so the game runs at the desktop's one. I don't see anywhere the resolution button to change, where is it? At the others, it appears, but at me, no way.
@TheAnimexion Yeah, you can do a lot more stuff but to me the graphics are better. Everyone has a different opinion on it.. but I've been on IMVU for a few years and I really like it.
Yes she agrees Viewer 2.0 sucks and she does not use it herself, check out time index 3:33 you will see she is running emerald, or was at the time of the video, as the #Emerald directory is present.
This viewer SUCKS !! Its very user-unfriendly. I used it for months to get used to it, and i can say it is still a pain in the ass ! Shame on you linden lab! This is not an improvement its a step backwards!!! ALL other viewers are better than your bug viewer! Why you guys always destroy existing and well working stuff ?? You did the same with XstreetSL!! Againts better judgment i tried Viewer 2.0 to try on a new funtion to better potray my AV , 5mins using it i DELETED 2.0 and returned to my 1.25.3 to find extra folders which i cant delete which are annoying , 2 copies of calling cards and god knows what >_< . while on the 2.0 it was SLOW , totally UN-USER FRIENDLY, missing alot of EZ buttons to use like being able to turn OFF media at a touch of a button instead of looking for the source and manualy off it <.< , you know that L.L2.0 SUXX . .
Why did nobody tell me that you can now use the 'add' option to wear multiple clothing items/tattoos and attachments on the same slot?? Took me ages to work out why sometimes I could use two things together that previously replaced each other.
To complete my thought. The vid tells what it does, not what it is. That may be a distinction some would argue, but you would think a company who bases their sales promo on the technical strength of their product, would not miss such a simple detail . Simple, but such a distinction is noteworthy. That small aspect of not seeing it on their own, reflects the dynamic of 'head in the clouds, feet not on the ground.' By the limits of their own assumptions, it is a big no to my user group.
So, 'what is it.? I'm not entirely stupid..(some will argue that :), This vid does not address that.
Most here, already know, or have some history. Most users are not technical. I listened to this 'INTRODUCTION,' It never addressed WHAT it is.. If the company has not addressed it, simple like: '2nd Life viewer IS a. ' THEN explain the features for the average user, They R NOT thinking, or writing for the majority of users. Incomplete thinking will show in the details of it's programming.
veiwer 2 was the fastet and most somple viewer ever made, to easy to be true! but yes it misses ALOT! of fetures and that is why we as users of the product need to type in and give them the idea for the next generation of viewer and function :)
Still hate it. Very cool additions like the new clothing layers could have been intigrated without the new complicated UI workover. For the record, i dislike alternate viewers such as Emerald.. it's too hard as a content creator to keep up, making sure evrything i put out is compatible on every viewer of the month.
this viewer has really serious performance issues, im running GTA IV at full graphics 50 FPS, but with this viewer i can´t use it at medium performance settings because it goes 20 FPS.(in viewer 1, 60FPS at max settings)and the menues... don't get me started !!!!

I remember the good old times when Second Life had such crappy graphics and at least 16-bit colours and EVEN a 15 year old computer could play it, now I lag ALL the time with only the >>>BASIC<<< Shaders which aren't very BASIC as they make the water look very realistic so now, Second Life sucks!
Ehm... I installed this viewer, and it keeps screwing up. The graphics won't load properly. I end up with a half loaded room with a blank background, and a half loaded avatar.
The change of aspect ration when the sidebar is opened is distracting and has given me terrible headaches. It is terrible to build with. I can appreciate trying to keep the visibility, yes its terrible to click around world with windows open, but changing aspect ratio causes a visual alienation effect from world.The old viewer still beats it out for being much more fluid & immersive. V2 makes me dizzy and sick too. I try it and go back every time. New features aren't enough to make me stay :(
The viewer has received a lot of tweaks since being introduced. Many things that were frustrating have been fixed. There is the ability to customize some things and right clicks have been re-introduced for many things.
Too bad it came out without them...but, there are some incredible features.
Eventually, 2.0 + will be the viewer most people use. The latest version is much better
Who and what team created this viewer should be fired. This viewer is an epic failure. This viewer only hurts Secondlife's reputation. Utter rubbish! Go back to the drawing board with this one.
Viewer 2 is terrible. I tryed it, and it was not "cool" at all. The old viewer was fine the way it was, this new viewer makes playing SL hard and takes a lot of fun out of the game. One of my friends tryed useing the old viewer again, but it just crashed on him and now he is forced to use a viewer he hates.

Since February it has bombed like no other viewer- the side "bar" is a mess that blocks a good portion of your screen- who was the idiot who passed on this useless UI? With Emerald biting the dust we have few choices- Emergence is the best choice for malware free software but he isn't going to keep it up- snowglobe is a pet protect stuck in the mud. Linden Labs claims that Viewer 2 is easier for new users. NOT TRUE! I recently asked a friend to try SL, and Viewer 2 was the ONLY option to download. She had so many problems with it, and her av wouldn't rez properly. It was more complicated. I told her to uninstall it and try downloading the older version from another website. But she was so frustrated with viewer 2 she doesn't want anything more to do with SL. Thanks Linden Labs...you lost a new user! I tried it and Viewer 2 SUCKS!

I'd really like for you guys to add something similar if not the same as the environment presets that Emerald Viewer has, preferably the camicod, but the others are amazing as well. It's one of the main reasons I won't get on Viewer two.

After your done loading SL viewer 2, Unload it and reload viewer 1. I would also like to cast my vote that Viewer 2 SUCKS. The toggle switches on the right side of the screen should have been designed to stay on the right edge of the screen and not move to the left after they are opened. Avatar pictures are smaller than 1. The list goes on and on.
This new viewer SUCKS BALLS. Even most lindens agree it's a pile of crap, it's disorientating, and it's effing complicated. Half the shit I used to use every day has either been hidden or removed.

Phoenix is LL project since I know, and the others are allowed by LL 3rd party standards so that makes me very happy and positive about the future of the old residents, who are used to more detailed viewer options.
well,im not happy with viewer 2 because well i was an EMS and i couldn't here the siren on the ambo and i got fired from my job.then they found out that i had viewer 2 so they hired me back if you can fix if it is a bug ill be greatful
Is the search feature in Viewer 2 currently a mockup? The links are there, but clicking them does nothing, and though I can search for something, such as a location, I cannot click any buttons to teleport there. The first button on the sidebar, the SL logo, doesn't seem to do anything either, and the login screen is all black.

I am posting this comment to ask you guys there in SL to not make this viewer mandatory for the people. I am someone that for years used SL for 11 hrs a day or more. I believe it can be great for noobs but not for the most that are like me. You changed the viewer radicaly. I think this is what makes it awful in my opinion. I don't feel confortable at all and I keep using the old one.
The only part of v2.x I like is the colors and shared media.
Frickin sidebar kills HUD attachments. See 1:28 for an example.
Would be nice to have old style folder icons for system folders.
Would be nice to be able to trash those extra system folders we won't use.
Would be nice if chat was old style.
I was under the impression you guys didn't do new assets. That's why write-to-notecard doesn't exist and why sculpties were born instead of adding .obj/.3ds/etc mesh support.
I found nothing I love about the new viewer. It's awful. The camera controls suck, the chat REALLY sucks, the menu on the side sucks. Meh, I want to burn it with fire.
Those are some nice features, but how about making it where SL won't be such a computer resource hog? My PC has actually over heated several times while trying to play (even in a less laggy area).
Speaking of lag; The laggy game-play makes SL less enjoyable, it's one of the main reasons I don't play it as much or at all anymore. If I visit an area that has over 15 people who are wearing prim heavy and scripted items, I might as well just leave because it will never load.

Absolute, counter-intuitive garbage. Side bar is junky and ugly, and people who need pictures to navigate thing are morons who I don't want to socialize with anyway. Can we at least get "retro" skin as well a permanently displayed camera controls back, because I loathe having to continue toggle between them.

People use pictures to navigate because it's FASTER, in the time it takes your brain to recognise the first 3-4 letters (the first one being the most important) a picture tells what it is from the start.

The SL2 browser is probably great for the noob who has never used the original viewer. I tried it once myself. When i logged in all my attachment automaticly detached themselves and i couldnt for the life of find my stuff to put it back on. Sure its probably a great browser with alot of cool new tricks. But you know what they say. You cant teach an old avie new tricks =]. So ima stick with the original viewer since for me it is much easier to use.
HELP i have safari nd firefox but when i use viewer 2 i keep getting a pop up that says we're sorry but the safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar what should i do?
is there a reason for the increased lag on the 2.0 viewer? on emerald on ultra settings, at furnation i get 15-20 fps, on 2.0 a few minutes later, i get 5-10fps on ultra settings...

Brand new viewer.... crashes your VDU constantly till you have no choice but reboot your PC and you cant switch your windows from second life to your browser without crashing everything, you cant find anything in the interface. Linden labs needs to fix their code and not build a set of crap.... so what do they think? Users will stay if they are crashing every two minutes? I think not... the route second life is going is digging their own graves.

Againts better judgment i tried Viewer 2.0 to try on a new funtion to better potray my AV , 5mins using it i DELETED 2.0 and returned to my 1.25.3 to find extra folders which i cant delete which are annoying , 2 copies of calling cards and god knows what >_< . while on the 2.0 it was SLOW , totally UN-USER FRIENDLY, missing alot of EZ buttons to use like being able to turn OFF media at a touch of a button instead of looking for the source and manualy off it <.< , you know that L.L2.0 SUXX . .

To complete my thought. The vid tells what it does, not what it is. That may be a distinction some would argue, but you would think a company who bases their sales promo on the technical strength of their product, would not miss such a simple detail . Simple, but such a distinction is noteworthy. That small aspect of not seeing it on their own, reflects the dynamic of 'head in the clouds, feet not on the ground.' By the limits of their own assumptions, it is a big no to my user group.

Most here, already know, or have some history. Most users are not technical. I listened to this 'INTRODUCTION,' It never addressed WHAT it is.. If the company has not addressed it, simple like: '2nd Life viewer IS a. ' THEN explain the features for the average user, They R NOT thinking, or writing for the majority of users. Incomplete thinking will show in the details of it's programming.

Still hate it. Very cool additions like the new clothing layers could have been intigrated without the new complicated UI workover. For the record, i dislike alternate viewers such as Emerald.. it's too hard as a content creator to keep up, making sure evrything i put out is compatible on every viewer of the month.

this viewer has really serious performance issues, im running GTA IV at full graphics 50 FPS, but with this viewer i can´t use it at medium performance settings because it goes 20 FPS.(in viewer 1, 60FPS at max settings)and the menues... don't get me started !!!!

Ehm... I installed this viewer, and it keeps screwing up. The graphics won't load properly. I end up with a half loaded room with a blank background, and a half loaded avatar.

The change of aspect ration when the sidebar is opened is distracting and has given me terrible headaches. It is terrible to build with. I can appreciate trying to keep the visibility, yes its terrible to click around world with windows open, but changing aspect ratio causes a visual alienation effect from world.The old viewer still beats it out for being much more fluid & immersive. V2 makes me dizzy and sick too. I try it and go back every time. New features aren't enough to make me stay :(

The viewer has received a lot of tweaks since being introduced. Many things that were frustrating have been fixed. There is the ability to customize some things and right clicks have been re-introduced for many things.
Too bad it came out without them...but, there are some incredible features.
Eventually, 2.0 + will be the viewer most people use. The latest version is much better

Viewer 2 is terrible. I tryed it, and it was not "cool" at all. The old viewer was fine the way it was, this new viewer makes playing SL hard and takes a lot of fun out of the game. One of my friends tryed useing the old viewer again, but it just crashed on him and now he is forced to use a viewer he hates.

Since February it has bombed like no other viewer- the side "bar" is a mess that blocks a good portion of your screen- who was the idiot who passed on this useless UI? With Emerald biting the dust we have few choices- Emergence is the best choice for malware free software but he isn't going to keep it up- snowglobe is a pet protect stuck in the mud. Shame on you Linden Lab. I have been watching with horror the opensouce dev. group argue about nonsense and deliver zero.

Linden Labs claims that Viewer 2 is easier for new users. NOT TRUE! I recently asked a friend to try SL, and Viewer 2 was the ONLY option to download. She had so many problems with it, and her av wouldn't rez properly. It was more complicated. I told her to uninstall it and try downloading the older version from another website. But she was so frustrated with viewer 2 she doesn't want anything more to do with SL. Thanks Linden Labs...you lost a new user! I tried it and Viewer 2 SUCKS!

After your done loading SL viewer 2, Unload it and reload viewer 1. I would also like to cast my vote that Viewer 2 SUCKS. The toggle switches on the right side of the screen should have been designed to stay on the right edge of the screen and not move to the left after they are opened. Avatar pictures are smaller than 1. The list goes on and on.

The more LL push this pile of.. in ppls faces, the greater number of residents turn to Emerald ! Theyr OWN pool on theyr OWN forum was hidden showing something like FOR 2.0 - 250, against 8000. Something of this Range. I give thumb down cus this vid is misleading, v2.0 is HARD to use, Totally anti intuitive! Stop pretending you did something good Please :) VERY please!

Phoenix , Emergence, etc.
2.x is taking the newbies, older residents need to move to Proper viewers.. IMHO.
Phoenix is LL project since I know, and the others are allowed by LL 3rd party standards so that makes me very happy and positive about the future of the old residents, who are used to more detailed viewer options.

Is the search feature in Viewer 2 currently a mockup? The links are there, but clicking them does nothing, and though I can search for something, such as a location, I cannot click any buttons to teleport there. The first button on the sidebar, the SL logo, doesn't seem to do anything either, and the login screen is all black.
Just wondering if that's how it's supposed to be?

Don't go back to the old viewer, instead promote the viewer 2 and report bugs to Linden Labs, because the viewer 2 is an amazing invention.
See the viewer as your web-browser, the sidebar as a menu you have in websites.

I am posting this comment to ask you guys there in SL to not make this viewer mandatory for the people. I am someone that for years used SL for 11 hrs a day or more. I believe it can be great for noobs but not for the most that are like me. You changed the viewer radicaly. I think this is what makes it awful in my opinion. I don't feel confortable at all and I keep using the old one.

The only part of v2.x I like is the colors and shared media.
Frickin sidebar kills HUD attachments. See 1:28 for an example.
Would be nice to have old style folder icons for system folders.
Would be nice to be able to trash those extra system folders we won't use.
Would be nice if chat was old style.
I was under the impression you guys didn't do new assets. That's why write-to-notecard doesn't exist and why sculpties were born instead of adding .obj/.3ds/etc mesh support.

Those are some nice features, but how about making it where SL won't be such a computer resource hog? My PC has actually over heated several times while trying to play (even in a less laggy area).
Speaking of lag; The laggy game-play makes SL less enjoyable, it's one of the main reasons I don't play it as much or at all anymore. If I visit an area that has over 15 people who are wearing prim heavy and scripted items, I might as well just leave because it will never load.

bei der Suche muss man drei mal Klicken bis man äntlich die Orte und die richtige reinfolge hat (also nach traffic und zwar die mit dem meisten zu erst)
Vom Design her ist es recht schön, benutze aber wegen den oben genannten grunden einen anderen

People use pictures to navigate because it's FASTER, in the time it takes your brain to recognise the first 3-4 letters (the first one being the most important) a picture tells what it is from the start.

The SL2 browser is probably great for the noob who has never used the original viewer. I tried it once myself. When i logged in all my attachment automaticly detached themselves and i couldnt for the life of find my stuff to put it back on. Sure its probably a great browser with alot of cool new tricks. But you know what they say. You cant teach an old avie new tricks =]. So ima stick with the original viewer since for me it is much easier to use.

is there a reason for the increased lag on the 2.0 viewer? on emerald on ultra settings, at furnation i get 15-20 fps, on 2.0 a few minutes later, i get 5-10fps on ultra settings...
are you guys sacrificing performance for purtiness like vista did? that never works... is it possible if we could get a high performance viewer made for things like machinima? sacrificing all the fancy interface options

Brand new viewer.... crashes your VDU constantly till you have no choice but reboot your PC and you cant switch your windows from second life to your browser without crashing everything, you cant find anything in the interface. Linden labs needs to fix their code and not build a set of crap.... so what do they think? Users will stay if they are crashing every two minutes? I think not... the route second life is going is digging their own graves.
