could anyone translate a basic idea of what they said? I am a hearing ASL year 3 student and have caught on pieces but i find it hard at times. I am writing a paper on things like this and this story seems interesting.
@MsLaneybug123 It's pretty funny. Basically these two went to McDonalds with their Deaf parents, and they ordered for them. When they got their food, a lot of the order was wrong, so their parents dragged them up to the counter to talk to the manager. Their parents were REALLY angry about the wrong order, but as they were interpreting for their parents, they made everything their parents were signing sound really polite so that they didn't cause a scene. Funny :P
Gee... LOL. Im a parent of my coda children. I probably will just not have them interpreter for me when I'm upset like that! I'm going to use my papers...HA. Great VLOG, I'm hooked to your shows. I just hope my children will be like you guys... expect they're sister and brother. =). Keep up!!!
i have 2 Deaf friends that were standing in line at mcdonalds and they were signing while waiting when they got to the counter the cashier had noticed them signing and so the cashier raised one finger meaning hold on a sec then the cashier came back with the large print/braile menu
That's awesome. My dad is a Deaf pastor and he was talking to a hearing pastor and the hearing pastor saw my dad's bibles and asked if they were in braile!
How come she didnt try to read your lip to see what you were saying?Your lucky she didnt do that otherwise she would be what are you saying (smack in the head ) lol..
LoL! That was so funny. Both of my parents are deaf and I am hearing and growing up I had to interpret for my mom too and I hated in the situation JUST like McDonalds. Lol great job!
the french fryer guy came to me and asked if i cant hear or talk.. i said yes. he said thank god i am hearing. i was upset and told him what if his kid born deaf what would he do bout it? he says nothing and i felt good and left.. MCDONALDS sucks.. but food good though..
I know! But i have to admit that Burger King fries are AWESOME! and some burger kings the cheese burgers are great and some are just so bad...i had my share of experiences
long time ago, i went to mcdonalds and waited in the line till i got there in front of cashier.. i told her that i need a paper and pen.. she says what? i said pen and paper.. she says what? i turned around and looked at people.. very crowded... so i decided to use LOUD voice to say PEN AND PAPER.. she was scared and gave me the paper and pen and i wrote down.. ANDDDD
Sweet. Im hard of hearing and I sign. My daughter tells me when she tells people Im deaf, the question she gets the most is, "Can your mom drive?"

I am a CODA too and I had to do that same thing at the Post Office and other places too. I am so glad I was not the only CODA doing that!
