People should realize by now that almost all the starters of all the regions are Awesome. Granted, some regions lack good Fire/Water/Grass Types in their games so people would be more inclined to pick that Starter, but let's face the fact that Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle are all Fantastic Pokemon, and no matter who you pick, It's the right choice. When I've played FireRed, I usually either pick Charmander or Squirtle, but that's because you don't really need a Grass Type, but who cares?

Charmander is the best one because it learns metal claw for the 1st gym and when it evolves into charizard it learns better moves.

You could just catch a pikachu in viridian forest to beat squirtle

bulbasaur is weakened by charmander charmander is weakened by squirtle so squirtles the best unless there was pikachu :P

i don't know how to explain it...but an example is playing a GBA game on the computer without having to use the actual GBA at all...it's like a virtual GBA...
