Ritalin killed my 22 yr old son after 10 years of using and abusing for one year while in college making a 3.85 GPA. There is a study out by Dr. Yong Kim of the NIDA (National Institute of Drug Abuse) in New York. Google Ritalin study by Dr. Yong Kim. The director Nora Volkow has stated that these drugs like Ritalin and Adderall can damage the frontal lobe of the brain, which controls the yes, no decision making. The brain is stimulated 100 times more than any normal pleasure, and craves it.
@pwg1126 It worked really well for me until I started getting use to the high and wanting more high. Couple of major black outs n heart problems.. Up for days and days .. I realized that if I dont stop I will die.. so I just stopped.. thankfully I didnt have a huge withdraw.. I still miss how well it made me focus, and the body high, and I would gladly take it again if there were some way to have control. I'm 22 now. Quit when 18. My parents to this day dont know I had a drug problem msg me :)!
@pwg1126 Ritalin and Adderral are all forms of speed/amphetamines. I think the bottom line is you need to get off of the drugs one day, and it doesn't work that way. The doctors think it helps, but the brain is being damaged. Later you need more for the same effect. Say you graduate from college with your 4.0 GPA and land that dream job. Now you are dependent on the drug to keep your brain loading the Serotinin and dopamines, not to mention the depression and emotional issues. Glad You are off.
So Adderall makes you hyper and gay ?
