  • for those of you looking for UBERKALTI's comment, it said "I'd say thompson..."

  • Just a few words to tell you that an interesting downloadable ebook on this model (technical and historic aspects) is available at HLebooks.com.

  • beautiful gun!!!!

  • Best weapon of WW2 ... nuff said

  • i know it doesnt matter but is that guy german

  • He should drink some double tap...

  • i want one

  • finaly a video with a real mp40 not those faggy airsoft ones

  • thats all the recoil its got? just for the record, whuts the maximum range on that rifle?

  • @guschamber

submachine gun (or MP=machine pistol), not a rifle. effective range is 100m according to teh internet

  • @guschamber not a rifle, it was a sub-machine gun

  • german quality

  • Strange. Most sub-machineguns today are worse than MP-40. Todays smgs usually work from closed bolt and they have too much recoil if compared to MP-40. Only the first shot is more accurate on todays SMGs (when shooting full auto). But if you want an accurate gun, get rifle instead. SMGs are good for cqb..

  • Looking down the sights actually improves shooting results...FYI

  • The MP40 is truly one of my all time favorite submachine guns. Shame they do not sell any remake copies in gun stores these days, I'd sure love to own one.

  • The guy in the yellow shirt looks like my dad

  • good mp40 is just the best designed weapon ever

  • doesn't have any muzzle flashes at all?

  • It shouldn't have to much recoil, it's only 9mm

  • Thats cause he used steady aim

  • Whats the difference between 9mm Parabellum and 9mm Luger? Can a mp40 shoot 9mm Luger?

  • @Gonamez No difference. 9mm Parabellum was the official designation given the shell when it was invented primarily as a military round over 100 yrs ago."Parabellum" is Latin- roughly translated

It means "FOR WAR"" The Luger was the first gun to chamber the round so it became known as "9mm Luger"

  • @grayfoxx3 no it means "prepare war" because of the citation "si vis pacem, para bellum"

  • @grayfoxx3 yah accept the first gun champered in 9mm WASNT a luger.

  • Lol he's like OK GIVE IT BACK

  • Well, it may sound crazy, but IF the americans used a colt beretta 92, would they be able to pick up the rounds in german mp40's to put them into their 1911 magazines? Both are 9x19 mm...

  • @Jur2225 1911's were .45 ACP though.....

  • I think the Joker had one of these in the Batman, Dark Knight movie

  • @ussprinceton2004 he did

  • der machinenpistol veirzig ist sehr gut!

    (guess who speaks german) :D

  • @Falconpunch82 wasnt that bad.

  • umm the 9 millimeter parabellum round is an ok powered round

  • great sound

  • @vammane1234 ikr

  • a true war hero

  • awesome

  • haha

  • Is that Kip from Napolean Dynamite?

  • I'd prefer MP40 to M16 for a defensive maneuver.

  • mp-40>thompson

    however

    chigago typewriter>mp-40

  • that guy looked pretty unenthusiastic/uninterested :|

  • still overpowered

  • The MP40 is better then the Thompson...

  • still pretty good

  • i say thompson to becuz it dosn't skip like the mp44 it shoots a stead shot

  • yes but the mp40 is more powerful

  • the mp40 is a good hip fire gun overall great gun

  • This guns a beauty. But i disagree wth UBERKalti's choice. The MP40 was probably better at accuracy then the thompson. The MP40 has twice the range of a Thompson though the Thompson uses .45 ACP and has more power. The MP40 is also lighter.

  • mp40 is better than thompson thompson is good to but mp40 goes over it

  • I'd say the MP40 is more accurate because of the fire rate its not so high as thompsons.......

  • I love the sound the MP 40 makes when you fire it

  • mp40 is hot

  • Behind you it's Frank Doyle from Mithbusters ? LOL

  • Doesn't the MP40 fire the same bullet as the 1911 colt?

  • @jl4562a That's the Thompson and Grease Gun

  • @jl4562a no the colt fires .45 the MP40 fires 9mm

  • @jl4562a

    Nope, MP40 = 9mm, M1911 = .45ACP

  • @jl4562a

No, it fires the 9x19 Parabellum (or 9mm Luger) whereas 1911's use the .45 ACP (automatic Colt Pistol) cartridge.

  • Does it kick?

  • why burst it?

  • @0mgitschris Why not?

  • Where can you get something like that?

  • wallmart

  • lucky i wish i could shoot my fav gun

  • did you know the americans nickname for mp40 was a burp gun?

  • That thing has almost no recoil.

  • mp40's make such a distinctive sound for some reason.

  • i think its because of the guts positioning. the explotion tht fires the bullet makes different sounds becuase of the echo the osund makes off the guts. it will just be the composition lol

    hope tht helped

  • @greatbuttholeoffire1 thats how they got the name the "burp gun"

  • @greatbuttholeoffire1 they make a fapping noise

  • @greatbuttholeoffire1 just like ak 47s...kinda

  • @greatbuttholeoffire1 I think its the slapping sound, the time between each round/the weapon cycling....god its an awesome sound.

  • @greatbuttholeoffire1 Its like music

  • hardly any recoil

  • Theres hardly any recoil cuz he isnt fully shooting. He's just doing controlled bursts. But overall, the gun has virtually no recoil on fully automatic anyway.

  • The one I fired had practically no recoil.

  • thats wierd huh i thought the mp40 would go all over the place but it stayed straight

  • its 9mm and he was shooting in burst

  • yeah cause its firing 9mm bullets

  • It's shooting 9mm bullets. Not much recoil to speak of.

  • @carl7ritchie a lot of guns can seem to have low recoil if held by the right shooter

  • @carl7ritchie cuz the stock

  • @carl7ritchie Know wonder it was on of Hitlers favorite guns

  • @carl7ritchie was only a 9mm

  • my dad shoots a 12 guage like nothing flat. i needa freggin pad to shoot my 20 guage

  • really? I shoot my uncles 12 no probbs.

  • lol

  • a pad!? how old are you? a 3 inch 12 gauge bullet is nothing to me!..and i am only 12!

  • the mp40 should have been made with a grip if they kept holding on that fracking magazine it will jam lol

  • Tha's madness!

  • no thats germany

  • thompson had 11.45 x 23 mm

  • that is so awesome but can you like hold the trigger longer than for 2 bullets

  • I would love to find a place and buy an original mp40 or maybe a new one made like the original one. I know a place to get an stg44 and an mp44, but I'd rather have an mp40.

  • Where do u get mp-40

  • you get it 70 years ago in Germany.

  • sweet video...i own an mp-40.

  • why hip fire?

  • dang he must of had steady aim

  • Such a fantastic gun

  • From the hip. Definately using steady aim.

  • I would like to try that gun :) but i can't. here in finland the police doesn't give permission to sub machine guns.

  • i think you can own fully automatic weapon if you have some sort of collector status.

  • and thats a good thing

  • In Canada we can't even own any automatic weapons.

You lucky it's just SMG's for you....

  • In sweden we cant own automatic weapons we are only allowed to buy bolt action guns.. however we are permitted to buy automatic guns but we must re make them so they can only fire in semi auto and so they can only hold 15 rounds.. but i supose its for the saftey.. wich is very good.

  • Still better then california law, we can only have 10 round magazines for our semi-autos, including handguns. They also cant have both a pistol grip and a detachable magazine at the same time =/

  • Similar to Canada,. Guns there can only hold 5 rounds, must be semi or bolt. A lot of guns are illegal in Canada because their government is a socialist dictatorship because it likes to model after Europe. I hope the US doesn't turn that way.

  • @Gurkmomma sorta like the US but we can have full auto if u have a special permit...and we can have larger amounts of ammo in our mags even without the permit

  • @Gurkmomma where i live its illegal to have full auto guns and silencers

  • its a nice old german gun :D and i like the sound of it... :D

  • the stg didn´t fire the 9mm round.....do your homework !!!

  • JAY, the MP40 and the STG were NOT the SAME rifle!!!! You need to do a bit of homework before you go spouting off. They both fired the 9mm parabellum, by they are not even remotely close by design. The STG was a STAMPED made weapon, were the MP40 had lots of milled parts.

  • he wrote that the MP44 and the STG are the same. learn to read

  • also notice that he said the mp44 not the mp40........... the mp44 and the stg44 is the same...

  • but he also had alot of facts abut the calibers of the firearms, and said that the mp40 is a rifle

  • Right you are correct MP44 = STG 44 not MP40

  • hahhaha STG 9mm parabellum, maybe in ur dreamland,

    MkB42(H), MkB42(W), MP43,MP43/1; MP44 and STG44 fire 8mm kurz (7,92x33)

by the way the MP40 WAS a weapon made from STAMPING cause is the evolution of the previous MP38 wich was a gun made with oldfashion technics, with its lower machined from a solid block of steel and the upper first tubed and then milled (on the external surface) to cut weight

  • It could be my eyes, but I think he said MP44, not MP40.

  • mp40 is not a rifle, 9mm is a pistol bullet

  • Hence the MP, Machine Pistol

  • yup

  • No, the StG 44 fired a 7.92x33mm round while the MP40 used the 9x19mm.

  • that thing is silent

  • it fires 9mms

  • 9mms is correct

  • It Can Use Pistol Rounds Cause Of The Recoil

  • is it me or is the gun going down when it schoots instead of up ?

  • 9mm para pistol bullet

  • im pretty sure its a submachine gun, so it must fire 9mms

  • whats more accurate thompson or mp40

  • I'd say the Thompson...

  • thompson pwns :D

  • @UBERKalti

No man, the MP-40 is. The Thompson has more taken down power with fewer shots but the muzzle climb on the Thompson is pretty bad if you dont give short bursts. I know from firing both...

  • @cudaman82

which model thompson are you talking about?

there is almost zero muzzle climb on my m1.

i only weigh 150 and i can shoot an entire 30 rd mag with one hand.

it is a heavy gun though, that's part of the reason there is such light felt recoil.

  • @UBERKalti The thompson is the most accurate submachine gun of all time. Its beats the HK UMP45 and any other 9mm SMG by a mile.

  • @UBERKalti acctualy the mp40 fires smaller rounds and has less kick, therfore its more accurate

  • @UBERKalti mp40 ,the thompson kick forces it up everytime it shoots

  • @UBERKalti No MP40 is more accurate due to muzzle velocity and rate of fire.:P

  • @battlefrontking9 Actually, the MP 40 was more accurate. The German had a habit (and a very good one too) to make the best of everything they possibly can. That is why German Engineering is still pretty much the best in the world today =D

  • @battlefrontking9 Well the mp40 could hold more bullets but the thompson had a longer range however it seemed that the thompso had a higher recoil so i would say that the mp40 was more accurate.

  • they hold the same except the tommy has an opptional 60 round drum mag

  • @evanbatterman no, tommies shoot fmj Auto Colt Pistol (ACP) rounds

  • @battlefrontking9 id say mp40 it got lower Firerate and its more Stable

  • @battlefrontking9

definitely thompson! because despite of mp40 was a weapon that made more damage, the thompson has less recoil

  • @TheElpenegigante The Mp40 has ridiculously low recoil even compared to a Tommy and is nowhere near as powerful. It fires 9mm and the Tommy fires 45 ACP.

  • @TheElpenegigante ...and you know this how? the tompson actually did more damage, it fired a .45 and the mp40 only fires a 9mm. the .45 is far bigger and heavier.

  • @evanbatterman Hold up a .45 and a 9mm and tell me exactly how it is far bigger. They're really close in size, don't know what makes you think the .45 is that much larger.

  • @battlefrontking9 mp40 ,the thompson kick forces it up everytime it shoots

  • MP40, die beste Deutsche Waffen

  • this is deffinatly my favorite gun. i like it better with no stock though

  • It is a sub-machine gun. One of the key factors of a sub-machine gun is it uses pistol rounds. So yes it uses 9mm.

  • let me tell you this, life is not a video game

  • It fires 9mm

  • not to loud wow

  • doesnt seam like it has much of kick. Or is that because the user has firm grip on it.

  • Cool, what type of ammunition does that use? I'm pretty sure it fires a type of pistol round

  • Im pretty sure it shoots 9mm's

    Cant really remember though

  • indeed it does, 9mm parabellum

  • 9mm +p+ from this guns 9.9 inch barrel is as powerfull as a .357 magnum from a 4" revolver.

  • yeah its is 9mm's

  • mp 40 fires 9mm if thats wut u were askin about

  • It does, it uses the same ammo as all german war pistols and sub-machine guns.

  • 9x19mm Parabellum

  • 9X19mm standard...

  • it fires 9mm

  • 9x18mm

  • fires a 9x19mm round at i think about 550 rpm

  • 9mm parbellums, basically luger rounds. (according to what i've read)

  • 9MM

  • 9MMX19 Luger

  • 9x19mm

  • 9x19mm Parabellum

  • it does

  • 9mm

  • 9mm

  • 9mm Luger

  • Yep MP= Machine Pistol

    40 = 1940

It takes a 9mm round (parabelum I think [spelling] )

  • .45 cal I'm pretty sure.

  • 9mm

  • All SMGs fire pistol rounds. The MP40 utilizes the 9x19mm parabellum round. Yeah it's the basic 9mm, it was around even during WW1.

  • they used 9mms to .45 but am pretty sure to the low capacity clip it was .45 i can b wrong tho
