Use layers, sweetheart :) I use one or two layers for the line-art and one layer for each color underneath :P

You're really good with the outline! Do you use curve tool or you draw with a tablet?

I usually ink with my tablet. Sometimes the lines are so long it's hard to keep it nice and steady, so I do use vectors every now and then. Not for this art though.

About half of my art starts out as a paper doodle. That's a good way to start~ Take a picture of it or scan it in and mess around with it in open canvas, sai painter, corel draw, photoshop, paint shop pro or whatever graphic program you use.

If you want the software, just google Open Canvas 4.06 It's the last free version of Open Canvas as far as I know~

Or, you can google SAI Paint Tool. It has a free 30 day trial, and after that a life long subscription costs about 36 dollars or so?

Nah, not really~ Just a regular mouse can get you some good arts :) You just can't use the pressure sensitivity~ You need a tablet to use every feature of the program. And it doesn't matter what computer you have, since it's really light software~

Lineart was good, the pose was well done. You should work on detailing, coloring, and as well the and the proportions of the face were a bit distorted. The overall is still basic. You have potential though.

SAI is good for lineart, but Photoshop is a lot better for coloring. Just giving some friendly advice :)

I use HyperCam2 to record the process. You can choose to record your entire desktop, a single window, or a selected area of your screen :3 You're supposed to be able to record sound too... but I haven't gotten that to work.

No actually, I hadn't discovered the blur tool yet~ Even now that I have, I only use the blur tool to make gradients, not for blending shading~

I use the water tool to blend shading.
