I can't help but think that Sesshoumaru is actually not that bad of a guy. He's cold and stoic, and he isn't fond of Inuyasha, but... I don't think he's necessarily evil... I think... Inuyasha's humanity didn't only come from his human mother; it must have also been in his father. How else would it even be possible for a powerful demon to fall in love with a human? Maybe Sesshoumaru inherited some of that as well....
