Had the pleasure of seeing this band on the Joyous Lake tour. At this point, fusion was already in its second generation and moving toward extinction or transition into 'crossover' or smooth jazz.
Tony William's Lifetime band w / Holdsworth had already split, but there were still fans who craved this kind of playing. Martino's whole concept here was strong, and while he worked from the popular fusion template in many ways, his overall approach was unique and fresh. And the band nailed it live!
One of the most funky be-bop tracks ever. I love the outgoing fill he plays from 1:02 to 1:04 and again from 1:53 to 1:55

As I remember, this tune was written by the band's keyboardist, Delmar Brown. Kenwood Dennard is the drummer, the bassist is Mark Leonard.
All three were in their early twenties; their talents were well-known in the Berklee hallways of the time.

Intense, and as fresh as it was when I first heard it on vinyl back in the 70's.
