hi i bought a 650 v star classic like 3 year ago but i was looking for a 500 tl kawasaki as an entry bike at that time, and i saw this 650 at another dealer and i tough 650 was too much for me as first bike but i ended up buying it and i love it!! it wasnt like too much after all, awsome ride for any type of rider and 2 years later i purchased a 1700 yamaha roadstar mean bike! so i think most riders will outgrow a 250 very soon so u will end up spending more than if u get like what u like!
Thanks. It's a great little bike. I'd rather not mention sale price online here, but lets just say I sold it for almost what I paid for it after riding it for 14 Years. They really hold there value. If it was in the condintion that I bought it in, I probably would have made money on it. It sold really quickly too. Thanks for watching.
I learned how to ride on an 86 rebel. good bikes , nvr had a problem with em. I plan on giving it to my son when he hits 15. Great starter bike. btw love the sportster
I didn't have brackets but you can find them on rebelcatalog dotcom. The bags I bought in 1996 locally and don't remember what brand they were. I sold the bike a year ago so I can't take a look to find out. Thanks for watching.
you should keep the rebel, it is a great bike and i still have mine that was my first bike. it is great and as far as i'm concerned i wouldnt trade mine for anything.
are you gonna sell it ?? let me kno iam looking for a 250 hook me up bro i just got my permit today .. me and my dad want to ride out he has a shadow lolz .. HONDA BABY !!!!
Hey Paisteboy. Congrats on the Harley. I have a question for you. For in the city, was this bike comfortable in the stop/go, stop/go, stop/go type riding in the city? I am debating starting out with a rebel or a 250 ninja. Do you have any advice? I like the look of a rebel more than a ninja sportbike, but I am thinking that maybe a ninja type sportbike would be a better bike for shooting around the city. Thanks for any tips. -LK
I think either bike would be fine in the city. It's going to come down to what style you like better. Obviously I would get the Rebel. The rebel still has decent pick up for a small bike. If you a re a shorter guy you may want the rebel. If you're over 5'6" I would try one out first before you buy.
Nice bike...I keep hearing all you guys say that you are shorter and that's why you have a rebel. Check out the new Harley Nightster. I own the 1200cc bike, i'm about 5'3" and 150lbs. My bike moves!!!! I used to own a rebel 450. The Nightster seat height is less that 25". Check out my vid and go look at the Harleys!!!! LOL Nice bike though! I might get one for my wife.
I hear you, I actually bought a 2008 Sportster XL 1200 Low back in March of 2008 and I just sold the Rebel a couple of weeks ago. I'll check out you vid.
@jackal49885 i just bought a rebel what pipes did u put on it i was thinking of getting the jardine pipes something with a nice rumble to em but not super loud what would u recomend?
Thanks. I just corrected it. I never noticed it before. 2500cc Haha.... I wish. I actually took it out for a minute today just to get the cobwebs out.
I have the same bike, same year and the same color. LOVE it! Bought it with just under 600 mi. on it and am now pushing 2,000. It's a great safe reliable ride. I learned to ride on it and find it easy to manuver. We put a sissy bar on it and my husband and I take our boys out. If you decide to keep it this bike would be a perfect starter for your daughter. I am now looking for a hard to find Rebel 450 with low mileage. BTW we are in the Chautauqua Lake region, southwest of you.
Yeah, the bike is very reliable and I've owned it since spring of 1996. The only thing I added to it was saddle bags and the high way pegs. It already had the engine gaurd on it when I bought it. We'll see what happens in the spring. Maybe I'll hang on to it if my daughter can learn how to shift. I'll make another vid of it in the spring along with some of the Harley. Oh and the Chautauqua Lake region is near Buffalo, right? Thanks for the sub.
Still looks nice!... The Rebel 250 is an awesome little bike. It's been around for a long time and it's still one of the most liked bikes for beginners, or for someone who just happens to like a light weight, bullet proof, nice looking cruiser.
Wanna give it to me lol I would greatly apreciate it :D
