  • it seems this song is about GOD

  • mmmmmmm conor oberst..... tasty :D

  • i didnt get to make it to the show :( the same thing happened with his mystic valley band in june at headliners hall in louisville i couldnt get in but i met conor :) best day of my life with any hope ill go to the upcomin show in georgia

  • conor oberst is god i cant wait for the halloween monsters of folk show :)

  • I went to that show, Louisville KY, oh yeah!!!!!!

  • god is god

  • yes true sorry if that offended you i was only using that t describe the music as godly

  • @samesamething god means something different to everyone

  • @samesamething Hush up, just because they said Conor is God doesn't mean that they meant he is some true god...they were just making a usual comment about an artist. Get over your Dogma for a second to realize that there was no anti Dogma here....Tool.

  • @pauldavidsmith86 feel better?

  • @samesamething Yes, yes I do. Why thank you.

  • @pauldavidsmith86 may god bless you sir.

  • @pauldavidsmith86 no. may Conor Oberst bless you

  • Ohhhhhh Conor :]

  • that's funny we watch the same conor clips =p

  • not*

  • this song is on two albums now just that one you named

  • I think Conor's going to be a really cute old man :)

  • Oh Holy Fools: The Music of Son, Ambulance & Bright Eyes

  • Cheers!

  • Now I'm not a gay man, but if I could I would suck Connors D.

  • fag ;)

  • If it was actually possible to choose between all the beautiful songs in Conor's repertoire, I would have said that this one was my favorite.

  • are conorz albums avaliable at best buy and stuff?

  • They are available at some stores. Sadly all those stores like best Buy's and target only hold the cd's on the top charts =( But, I did find the bright Eye's album "Digital Ash in a Digital Urn" at Borders

  • he mentions his attic in his parents house in so many songs....well like 3 but ye

  • this one, you? will..and?

  • Thanks for uploading.

    I really like the lyrics.

(The picture at 2:07 is also very funny, hehe.)

  • he had reed hair, really?

  • My lifes goal is to write even a third as well as Conor did when he was 13.

  • Seriously, I am 13 and Im so jealuse...he is a huge inspiriation to me...I can only dream of being almost as good as him <3

  • you wont be, to write clever lyrics you must first be able to spell.

  • haha not entirly true, as logn as I know what I'm saying it's all ok =P but I guess "spell check" hasn't really done me justice...

  • he is amazing and extremely talented

  • no its a happy song about something sad

  • This song sounds happy to you? Really?

  • Yes can you not read?

  • I can, and I see no happiness here.

  • Hes singing about times in his life when hes happy. Its jus sad that there gone.

  • -the other songs. He makes references that are impossible to get without hearing other songs of his. Also, the more you listen to Bright Eyes the more you find new meaning in the words. Personally I do not see how to find MOST of that deeper meaning without comparing songs and really taking the time to listen to entire albums of Conor Oberst's work. SOME SONG MEANING ARE NOT UP FOR INTERPRETATION!

  • i completely agree. i have a stupid amount of bright eyes songs, and listening to them so much, u realize alot of hidden messages

  • Who says the song isnt happy?

Everyone hears it in a new way

The beautiful thing about music is that it can be interpreted differently by everyone that listens

  • 3ILuvmusic, you are definitely wrong about the different interpretations. There are many songs, such as "Pints of Guiness Make Your Strong" by Against Me! that are clearly sad. That is not up for debate. A sad song is a sad song. The thing about Bright Eyes is that some songs appear to be sad to the untrained ear when they are actually deeply pleasant and simple. As a person who has heard ALL of Conor Oberst's work I can safely say that you NEED to listen to some of his songs to understand-

  • 'This is not up for debate'?

You don't decide that. One of the points of music is for each person to hear it differently and it will mean something to me that it doesnt mean to you.

I have heard nearly all of his work,I have been to a concert that he did,and I listen to his songs numerous times,so dont tell me I dont know about his music.

  • It's not that you don't know about "his" music, it is more like you don't know about music in general. There are songs that have clear meaning, they can be clearly pleasant or sad or any number of emotions. The song "Hurt" when performed by Nirvana (or Johnny Cash's version which I 'PERSONALLY' like better) is NOT up for debate. It is a sad song, and if you truly believe that someone who interprets it as upbeat and happy is simply interpreting it is his own way? More like MIS-INTERPRETING!

  • I think you will find that Hurt was done by Nine Inch Nails not Nirvana

  • Yeah its definitely Nine Inch Nails. My comment about the song still stands as is. Thanks for picking that up.

  • This is the most amazing song describing drugs ive ever heard.

  • eeepp

my goal in life is to write like conor oberst.

  • Haha, youre never going to.

  • whos dream isnt to write like him?

  • ^w^ I'm not musically talented, but I'd love it if I could make anything that touches so people's hearts like his music does.

  • if you say you fucking love conor you might as well spell is fucking name right

  • conors music makes me shit cry and die

  • ****conor

  • it only has 6 , and its also on the split ep with son ambulance

  • god i love this song.

  • probably one of the best songs of his, in my opinion, but i could never pick a favorite

  • i love this.

  • this is amazing damn why dont i have it on album

  • When isnt he drugged up?

    That's Conor all over though.

  • is this song about drugs?

  • I think its about love.. but.. conor probably was under drugs while writting this song

  • oh holy fools

  • Connor Oberst is amazing!!!

  • So good. Wow.

  • and this is also MY fav song. conor oberst always has been and always will be my favorite artist. he is so REAL, ya know?

  • Totally :)

  • This is my favorite song.

  • hehe I have all of these pictures.

  • even if you brought all of conor oberst and bright eyes albums you wouldn't ahve all his songs. there are so many odd ones that he just randomly records.

  • I believe Conor is very subtle with the meaning he sends out in most of his songs, leaving it up to his fans to decide what they are about. If someone can relate to this song when it is about "a lover" then that's up to them. Besides who are you to tell what this song means to someone else?

  • Even if it can mean anything to the fans, he still was inspired by one meaning to write this song. I do agree that people can take it however they want to, there always is a true meaning, unless he wrote this for no reason, which I highly doubt.

  • this song brings back so many memories of the good times.

  • tell me about it

  • great song!

  • its on the "dont be frightened of turning the page" Ep

  • Either the "Oh Holy Fools" split, or the "Don't Be Frightened of Turning the Page" EP.

  • it's on the EP

  • I thought I had all of his albums, I guess I was wrong. Where could I find this song?

  • I <3 conor

  • i love the quote too, it's true.

and nice video, this is my favorite song by them, i wish they would have played it when i saw them.

  • i love the quote u put at the begining. + i love this song. nice slide show thingi =)

  • Thank you :)
