  • Why losing time with this toy at all?!

Where is the LINUX CLIENT?! Now, not even webaccess is available for Linux users!

  • horrible interface if you had to manage hundreds/thousands of vm's. the os "cards" should be scalable so you could see things in a detailed list rather than a huge card per os. seems like a nice app for an admin who doesn't manage many vm's and wants to brag what his ipad can do or not do...

  • Cool they want IT admin's to be able to administer on any device they use.

Really looking forward to that Linux client we where promised w. ESX 3, 3.5 and finally, now its really coming, with vSphere (4.0).

Of course the iPad's bee out about 6 months, so it's only natural to make a complete rewrite for this toy instead..... sshesssh

  • Susan is awesome... she is holds VCP #1

  • It interesting to see that at 1:30 when he is demoing the app that "VMware ESX Server Version 5" is listed. I wonder if this is a slip up or if it is a sign of things to come in the near future.

  • @LostSteak I noticed that as well. Which doesn't make sense. ESX 4.1 was supposed to be the last ESX version, hence 5.0 should be ESXi...

  • Very cool. Looking forward to purchasing this app as soon as it comes out.

Android users - I'm sure that there will be an app for you in the near future once there are android devices out there. Porting apps from iOS to Android is relatively easy - but obviously the market dominance of the iPad would have prompted VMWare to come out with this version first.

I don't need an OS/X version if I have an iPad version. The iPad is going to take over a LOT of my regular management duties....

  • Cool, a client for Apple's iOS. How 'bout a client for OS X?

  • There is an app like this available today called iDatacenter

  • I want it!!!

  • You know what I really want is a vSphere management application to run on Linux. At least in our I.T. environment we have more Linux-using System Administrators than we do iPad-using System Administrators.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • Very nice, looking forward to trying this out.

  • Why no Android love, with the slew of Android Tablets on the way and the popularity of Android Im disappointed that there are no tools yet or talk of them.

  • @mothyent They mentioned an Android View application at the keynote.
