I think that you have to have a very stable tempo (no accelerations etc...) while playing Bach...

Yes, you're correct! That is the way Bach should be performed according to the classical method. But, don't forbid yourself from playing around with classical of other types of music as your heart desires! That's what all the great composers did after Bach... Please your teacher, if you must, then please yourself!

I have kind of a baritone voice, but I haven't learned to sing while playing piano. Keeping track of two hands and a little pedal work with the feet is about all I can do. It's all about practice.
