This is another good vid from u guys!!! I love the raw jam! it reminded me of the early days of my band, we'd love to just take off and do it right!! keep it up guys... you all got skills!!
great question. The music is improvised and all the jams are "on the fly." As the kids have matured (say over age 13 for the youngest two, Corby and Lucy), more of their music have jams that demonstrate originality. Playin' and Bird Song provide examples of this nascent growth. That being said, most of the jams are in the well defined channels laid out by Jerry & the boys.
How on earth and heaven does Keith moon rock 2 bass drums and keep different beats? Sure John Entwhistle bass lines allowed it but try as might listen and watch can't follow.
just 'cause I love "Playing in the Band," rediscovering Dead listened to for decades with headphones so can finally pick out parts missed before: like Bob Weir an awesome rhythm guitarist and their rhythm section kicks and throwing stones features their 2 drummer gig and watch vid just to see which plays which part and Jerry seems to focus on drummer closest to him pounding the upbeat in reggae rhythm.
My god, you guys are prodigys! Unbelieveable, really. Instead of saying "the fat man rocks", we can say "the little man rocks"! There's a good chance one or more of you will be playing jazz in the ner future, if you don't already. keep it up!
They are really listening to each other and reaching for that magic. Other bands that age are more concerned about looks than sound, which is great for kids, but this band is passed the kids playing in a band thing. I wish them the best.
@barryb83110 I can say i am in a band and im 13. In a Dead band for fact. And Our set up is Close in Look and close in sound as the dead. Also I Can say My cousins Guitar is just a bit more like jerry's
Great stuff. Any background on the musicians or the organization which they are supporting? Excellent sound and a nice recording. One of the guitarists' instrument even seems to have the shape of some of Jerry's axes, I believe the ones from Alembic. I doubt even the members of the Dead could have imagined something like this happening, admittedly some 45 years after they started the band! I agree with "leftasmoking crater" - stick together! I hope they don't have different managers!
Totally impressed here.
