Good vid Brent...a guy I know says to think of throwing a frisbee to create that "smoothness" you are referring to here. Thought I'd share that because it helped my tempo thru the shot. I used to try and HIT at these short backhands but now I just fling them right back at my opponent.
another thing to point out is, the prediction of the flight of the ball. So you've already prepared and started your racket-prep + racket-swing to 'meet' to ball per se before the ball has bounced.
@evilmunki54 Because you're picking up the ball right after its bounce, there's a lot of ball speed coming up into your string bed, so you don't need a big swing to generate power.
what do you think is better? One handed or two handed backhand?

@No4sinper Absolutely. You don't want to back up and give up court position to your opponent.
It just takes practice, a lot of it, but you can learn to pick up this deep ball with your 2 hander.
