i love Kaidan it would have been great to see him after the suicide mission if you decided to keep playing after the game finished...say seeing him on the citadel. I got so =excited when my femshep got the email (sad I know). But i stayed faithful to Kaidan so there better be a payoff in ME3. Plus I made a new character and romanced Thane (yum as well) LOL

By the way, how do you trigger the scene where Shepard looks at Kaidan's photo?

Thanks :). You get to trigger that scene if you use an imported character from ME1 who had a romance with Kaidan and have stayed faithful until the final mission. That triggers when you head to the Omega4 relay

No it's not hard. Even without Kaidan, it is still a fun game. You have two of your old buddies with you and more. Being commander Shepard is not only about falling in love with your lieutenant: it is about saving the galaxy and putting others first, esp. if one plays as a paragon :). *hug. Don't worry. He'll be back in ME3. I'm sure of it. :)
