The tougest part of naming your kid Joe is making appear otherwise. We named him Jonah, but call him Joey. He's 3 now. When he's older and thinks I'm working him too hard I'll show him this video ("Fathers expect more from a kid named Joe."). You can see his older brother (Noah - 4 1/2) playing soccer. I'm raising them to be the future of American Soccer and NFL kickers. Do you have kids?
Jonah's nice and goes very well with Noah actually. Going with just 'Joe' would've been cool, aswell. No, I don't have kids but I will be sure not to name him (if I have a son) after me, which is something that happens too often in my family. From my grandfather down to my generation, there are 6 men. All named Marc or some variation of John. Not very imaginative. I'll be different.
That's what I wanted to avoid as well. I'm Mike, and I've played on soccer teams where, literally, half the guys on the field were "Mike". I didn't want that for my boys.
Joe; it's not just a name, it's an idea.
Love it!
