I've watched Clannad and Kanon (2006) and i'm in the process of watching Air. I LOVED Clannad and the Mikoto arc of Kanon and when you find out about Ayu's accident. but those were the only arcs that i liked. Clannad... I just loved all of it!

Clannad tried too hard in my opinion, honestly, it was just depressing to me. The characters weren't really that interesting, it was really tragedy after tragedy. Angel Beats, although it did make me cry, really wasn't that great an anime. It's easily overshadowed in hindsight.

I like Clannad the most, but Angel Beats! left a giant impression. And to be honest, the latter made me cry at the end. Not even Clannad, Air or Kanon managed that, emotionally yes, but crying? Never did until the end of Angel Beats!.

Ive seen clannad, air tv, kanon, and angel beet. However I thought that clannad and angel beet made me cry. Whyle kanon changed my lyfe. But when I saw air tv. I fell to tears like a 5 year old. Even if I'm 17 air TVs ending is the safest of them all. And on top I would rate these animes all 10. See all. Of them u won't regret it.

I could never get in Clannad; it just wasn't concentrated; and quite honestly, I found it boring :/ On the other hand, "Angel Beats" hit all the notes perfectly; and it really changed my outlook at life; I have yet to see Air or Kanon :(

I remember hearing and seeing the opening and opening song of air 5 years ago, and ever since then i had been searching for the anime. I've always wanted to fly. And for some reason I like air a little more, perhaps because it is elusive and difficult to understnad and reach, like the sky itself. Also the music is very beautiful

In my opinion, Clannad and AS were the most well polished of the works. The constant switch between comedy and tragedy didn't affect the overall tone of the anime, and I would certainly rate it as the best.

Kanon seemed to opt more for a subdued, chronic sad tone rather than the bipolar Clannad, but it was still good; not as good as Clannad but still good.

Clannad is a beautiful story that will last your entire life in your heart.

Air is... Alright, just disappointing. It had greater potential but... From the crow part onwards? What?

Angel Beats! is different, but a wonderful Anime nonetheless. It's a happy Anime... Mostly.

Kanon... Is generally the saddest. It's not quite as good as Clannad, but almost there.

And that's my opinion.

I agree on Clannad and Kannon. Air I have issues with. there are too many gaps from the game to the anime. I do rate Clannad and clannad AS as the best series I have watched though. And if Angel beats were well more completed, It would rate up there too. But Beats was dumbed down, and due to that, we missed the really heart wrenching scenes.

1 clannad 2 Kanon. clannad imo got across everything that the producers wished to convey to the viewer, the life lessons, and moreimportanlty te links to the characters. the happy/sad/bittersweet moments in the anime brought an army man to tears (freind of mine) not to mention me. Kanon had some tear jerking moments but clanad took the cake. if you havent watched it. i suggest make it a top priority to see. such agood anime. will always be one of my favorites. (worth watching at LEAST twice)

Kanon was great until the second arc started, then the proverbial bodies started hitting the floor.

IMO if you're dropping characters faster than one every 4-5 eps then something is wrong. Fewer people died in One Piece.

@TheKanonHara Arguing which Key work is best is nearly an argument of semantics or philosophy (>implying semantics wasn't a philosophy of language), and for that reason, I disagree but appreciate you watching both and recognizing them as worthy of comparison. Air was rather short (13~ episodes) and was probably (certainly to me) Key's most abstract work. Like Angel Beats, though, you can really feel all they *wanted* to do, juxtaposition to what they actually did. Not that either is bad.
