i like this film but it seems a little ridiculous that he can still speak like a normal human being, you cant make certain noises without your lips, for instance anything like B. trying saying bee with just you teeth

Darkman was really great Action/SCI-Fi movie - reminds me The Shadow (1994) and Spawn (1997). Liam Neeson and Frances McDormand were great.. Even SCI-FI movies were much better in the 90's

@WolfMoon86 But Raimi didn't cop out. It's one of the few (comic-book ...though yes not a comic) "super-hero" tragedies (Punisher notwithstanding)...there's no happy ending...only a harsh realization that the full-turn to homicidal vigilante has been completed...and there can be no turning back.

@83phatman A Young Bruce Campbell should have been given a solid superhero film...if he'd been given some seriously sober dramatic pieces and not pidgeon-holed into farcical roles...easily could've led a solid dead-serious comic franchise...the hard-core look back says it all.

Testament to Liam Neeson's skill as an actor and Sam Raimi's skill as a director for setting the appropriate tone for the scene-- I don't think the scene would have gone over half as well without both of those elements present.

Sam Raimi originally wanted Bruce Campbell to play Darkman, but the studio said they needed "big name actors" I'm glad Raimi was able to get his good friend in there, if only for a bit of Shemping.

Campbell is also the the voiceover that yells "JULIE!" Vintage Sam Raimi, basically his audition tape for Spider-Man. A mediocre script at best, but Raimi, Danny Elfman, and cinematographer Bill Pope all do their damndest with the material. Raimi's usual manic direction is infectiously energetic and hard not to like. Hail to the king, baby.
