When i first heard Synkronised I thought to myself they have amazingly covered just about every single style of Funk I remembered from the old days. The only thing i felt was missing was a Zapp/Clinton groove. Now years later i discover this.Whoever took the decision to leave this track off of the U.k version of the album should be shot.I feel robbed! This tune completes Synkronised and for me makes it the best and most complete Bibliography of the Funk I have ever and probably will ever hear.
Heard this tune for the first time recently and like it. Sounds de-constructed like it was blown apart and then put back together haphazardly. Also reminds me of 80s electro-inspired hip-hop. Nice one.
@chillraph I think the reason it's only a bonus track is the record label probably thought it was too different from their "normal" sound. I'm amazed they were able to come out with Drifting Along with it's reggae sound to it
This song is unbelievably influenced by George Clinton and his P-Funk. The synthesized sound and the beat that has been funkatized to the extreme makes it a gem. I can't believe that Jamiroquai has such diversity in their music.
I'm agree. so 80's ...reminds me Isley Brothers in some parts.. I discovered this single now! I like these Jay's writings.. i prefer Bullet ,Wolf In Sheep's Clothing ,Destitute Illusions but great this one too.
Yeep, in total agreement. I hear elements of Parliaments 'Flashlight' and George Clintons 'Atomic Dog'. Great track and a little unexpected from Jamiroquai. Shame all these B Sides / Bonus tracks aren't released as a prelude to their forthcoming album.
XD haha.. same.. Wenever this tune starts... i always think MJ is guna say " HE HEEEEEEE!" this song is so mashed! I love it! X p.s. it also remnids me of mario kart ds. lol. maybe its the synth sounds...lol
This is pehaps one of the funkiest beats Jamiroquai ever composed. Damn, listen to the bass line. I bet if Dr. Dre could sample it, he would in a heartbeat!
rumored to be, but i think jay discredited that when he talked about the original deeper underground in an interview on the high times dvd. he said he had the original track laying around somewhere and sang part of the melody, which makes me think it's something different even.
