If you are "to light" or "not strong enough" it means you have the wrong bike. Get a bike you can handle. Build your skill there then once you know what your doing upgrade if you still feel you need more bike.
I couldn't do it either (I'm not heavy enough, so "just straighten up" didn't work for me")....so I put a 70 pound pack on my back (to increase my weight to 220 pounds), and then I could do it no problem. For all those "lightweights" out there like me, I hope that helps. (I put a 40lb and a 30lb free weight in my LL Bean backpack)
@gsmac: I have tried this over and over again. I don't have the upper body strength needed to lift that back end of the bike to get it up on the center stand. I would have to go to the gym for a year and turn myself into a muscle woman to be able to do this.
It really pisses me off that Honda puts all these gizmos and gadgets on the Goldwing, and can't provide a way for the average person to get it up on the center stand without calling for help.
@pampurrs88 It's really not about strength and weight - my 115-lb wife was able to do it once I showed her the technique. It's all about leverage, and a little bit of momentum.
robbie. As an ex police motorcyclist, instructor and Gold wing owner, this is not the way to go.When you put your right foot on the stand, you are off balance and end up trying to pull the bike backwards. The correct method is to put your LEFT foot on the stand, feel the both legs touch the ground, and then put your weight on the leg.Even a lightweight will put the bike on its mainstand without drama.
@pampurrs88 Wrong. I don't weigh much more than you, and I can do it easily. It's not so much your weight on the center stand, it's the difference between pulling up on the grab rail and stepping down on the center stand at the same time. It amplifies the force while helping the bike to roll back onto the center stand. It's really quite easy once you get the hang of it.

This method only works if you weigh 200 lbs. I only weigh 150.
