  • So, they found Alien 3 to be an allegorical film about AIDS, but they failed to pick up on any of Fight Club's themes. And a critic who condemns a film because he felt squeemish (ie. Se7en) is very unprofessional.

  • these people are shit stupid...

after alien 3 comes FIGHT CLUB! no wait.. Se7en! oops! TOO GORYYYYY (but in a pleasant gothic way).

    these people suck!

    judgemental my ass.

where the hell is "the game" in this?

  • @imdb23 I know exactly what you mean! The correct title for this video should be GRANDADS DO THE MAKER OF FIGHT CLUB !!

  • wow.... those tapes in the background were probably stolen.

Who gave them the right to critique Fincher, or any director for that matter...... clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

At least research and know about someone before you decide that a discussion on them is what's best.

  • THE GAME?!!!!!!

  • Did he just dare to diss Se7en? OMFG!!!

Then he goes on to diss Fight Club?

.... I have lost faith in humanity...

  • @fromdaghettowithlove

To boil it down to it's simplest terms he rejects authority while building himself into an authority figure, he denounces modern society for stripping away personal identity, while distilling his follower's thoughts into those of mindless zombies, and he turns himself into an underground dictator who leads a coup against society, where individual existence is not nearly as important as the 'cause'.

    He's a fascist.

  • @futurestoryteller K for one Tyler is not an authoritan figure, hitting the bottom ground zero, he is the cordinartor and executor of project mayhem, but he does not make his men go through anything he doesnt go through himself. And true, to him their existance isnt important, but neither is his own, he is trying to help them be who they want to be, strutting them out to their full potential, not making them his slaves. No, Tyler Durden is a working class hero, a slave who said no.

  • @fromdaghettowithlove "K for one Tyler is not an authoritan figure" You don't appear to know what that means... "hitting the bottom ground zero" Funny how you just parroted one of his propaganda slogans. " but he does not make his men go through anything he doesnt go through himself. And true, to him their existance isnt important, but neither is his own" How is this not fascist? "he is trying to help them be who they want to be" Right... Space Monkeys.

  • @futurestoryteller Space monkeys indeed. Now I could explain this all to you, but Fight Club is not about politics its about consumerism, but you wouldnt understand that...

I mine as well being talking to six year old. Come on, if you dont understand the principals of Fight Club you probably would think hes a Fascist.

  • @fromdaghettowithlove

It's funny that you didn't bring that up until the things I said contradicted your beliefs... What does Tyler do with his spare time? He sells soap to luxury department stores...

And you 'mine as well'? You've been using words incorrectly like crazy. You think you understand the 'principals of Fight Club' because you fell for Tyler Durden's bullshit? That's rich. I'm ending this conversation, you're either an idiot or a lunatic, neither would surprise me.

  • @fromdaghettowithlove

"No, Tyler Durden is a working class hero, a slave who said no."

More like a slave who said 'I want my own slaves.' Look if you don't get it by now I'm not going to waste my time, I understand if you misunderstand, but if you're still convinced that he's right, I might as well be arguing with a six year old.

  • @futurestoryteller So to boil it down, we are a generation lost to authoritan figures, and if you dont find your induviduality then you just become another stat.

    Hell or nothing!!!

Fight Club is just like a support group, taken to the next level.

  • my mother could speak better about fincher than these talking heads

  • @radionr3

David Fincher truly is one of the greatest directors, I adore directors who are interested in the kind of things he is in movies. Misanthropy etc:

That's what takes me to the movies, can't wait for the social network

  • Yeah except Edward Norton himself has discussed with others, and presumably the director and the other actors, the fact that the male dominating characteristics that have built the world we live in are no longer good for the world they built. So anyone who says what these guys said about the movie isn't true is a fucking idiot. You're too in love with Tyler and his fascist philosophy - grow the fuck up.

  • @futurestoryteller Tyler's philosophy isn't at all fascist... wtf

  • who are these windbags? seriously, why bring up someone you hardly even like?

  • super lame. super oober

  • you don't know what you're talking about old man... Fincher's adaptation is awesome but the book is better man so shut up... "terrible whiny side"?... wtf?... you should read it first...

  • agreed, and disagreed. neither old man has any idea what they are talking about, but i believe, as many others including palahniuk agree, the film is better than the novel. what fincher, pitt, norton, carter and everyone else bring to the table is one collective talent cess pool that made a helluva film that transcended above and beyond chuck's original novel.

  • movie critic is somebody who failed in the movie business. these two idiots haven't even tried....

  • Fight Club: a testesteron filled film. A very Judgemental Film. And Brad Pitts breakthrough Film (Not counting A River Runs Through It, Legends of the Fall, or Seven).

Perhaps the popcorn is more important than understanding the films they're watching...

  • Brad Pitts breakout movie not counting.....

    You only have one.

    Fight Club rocks.

  • .......anyway....

WATCH ALL DAVID FINCHER MOVIES !!!

  • These critics have no idea what they are talking about.

They COMPLETELY miss the point of fight club.

Neo-luddism, consumerism. Not mentioned at all.

    Idiots.

  • wow...these guys really manage to put you off seeing great films

  • loool

  • ehem, excuse me... but i do believe they suck ass! .- cartman

  • This video reminded me of why I don't let critics influence my choice of what films to see.

  • these guys do not know what the fuck they are talking about. first of all...seven (which one of them almsot forgot!) is not gory...it is was psychologically suggestive but very, very little blood. secondly...the 3rd film was not fight club but the game. and these idiots did not even mention it. these asses should stick to films they know like pre-vietnam era movies and get real experts to talk david fincher. assholes!

  • Well said.

  • i concur

  • Male bashing the beginning of fascism? I'm 100% with everyone else, these two fatties know shit about fuck.

  • they are wrong about fight club...its not about guys beating the craps out of each other...its about the everyday man fighting to get his aggressions out...then it flips on ur ass

  • man, those comments sucked...

  • Metro newspaper... Poor guy.

  • fact: all movie critics are fat

fact: all movie critics are usless

fact: these guys have no idea what they re talking about

  • These guys don't know a shit! After 'Seven' comes 'The Game'.After that comes Fight Club. And also i didn't like the critics they have made. They are talking, but saying nothing...

  • Alien 3 fails as an action movie? Ahem, Alien 3 is NOT an action film. I think it states that quite clearly with the hidden message in the film where they talk about having no guns, twice in fact.

  • ass hats

  • those critics are bunch of assholes

  • Motherfucking fight club wasnt about facism dumb shit

  • He actually said "Brad Pitt's first GREAT role", which i agree with.

  • be quiet now "common reader"... etc

  • Fuck off.

  • This is a public access show from my hometown. The bigger, fatter, balder one use to teach at the local junior college. I actually sat in on a lecture of his. You think he's a moron in front of the camera, try taking his class. The other one just sucks, plain and simple.

  • This is like if my father and my girlfriend's father meet and get along.

  • lol

  • yawn

  • yes this guy is not very articulate on movies

  • Are they supposed to be professional critics? Let's hope not, this is aweful! Brad Pitt's first really great role? Yeah, because he sucked in Se7en and Twelve Monkeys, right? omg, I can't believe how bad they are...

  • If these guys can get a job blabbing this kinda nonsense about movies, there is hope for us all. Chuck Palahniuk should slap that dude upside the head.

  • Time it takes to watch 3 of Fincher's films: 6 hours.

Typing rottentomatoes. com and cobbling together a half-assed segment: much quicker.

  • what a pair of clowns. eck.

  • Ouch... thought it could be interesting, analysis of fincher's work or something.... well nothing, just breaking open doors up.

  • Who are these idiots? This has got to be a homemade podcast, right? Please don't tell me someone paid these fools to talk about things they don't understand.

  • Haha, not only do these noobs almost forget about Seven but completely dismiss The Game.
