@thinguyen03 So basically you do not like Tiramisu? Then why are you watching this video? O, you DO like Tiramisu? Then what is the problem with Mascarpone cheese? Tiramisu is and should be made with Mascarpone, so the fact that you do not like Mascapone should be irrelevant.
Great video the only think I will do to make sure I'm safe to eat is I will cook over double boiler the eggs and sugar until is reached 155 degrees to make sure all the bacterias and salmonella is killed. No safe to eat row eggs. Please watch my video to see the eggs and sugar how need to be cook before mixing with cream cheese. Thank you for your video!
Isn't it supposed to have a subtile almond flavor? We usually add some almond essence to the mascarpone with the sugar and egg yolks, and some Amaretto to the coffee... and much more kakao powder on top :D
@kazeyaki Nope. You can find mascarpone cheese in any supermarket. Look for "Bel Gioioso" or "Mozarella Fresca" brands (mozzarella fresca is confusing because it is a cheese name but it is also a brand) - Vittorio
@kazeyaki I believe a mix of cream cheese and whipping cream make a half decent substitute, just google mascarpone substitute and something will pop up.
looks good...one reason folks get too much coffee flavor is because everyone says to use 'lady fingers', but they neglect to say ITALIAN lady fingers which are those crisp dry cookies he is using, and not those soft spongy ones we are used to here in the USA. They soak up too much coffee and make the dish soggy.
@spontaniouspreteen12 there a much easier recipe than that, so technically thsi is the difficult way. The easy recipe is just with mascarpone and whipped cream instead of mascarpone and eggs.
simple baker... not wrong

This video is well shot - shows the essential bits very clearly
ie. how each whipped stage should looks like, and included brief mention of whipping time for the eggs & sugar (I had problems with this stage!)
Thanks very much! ^-^

Should I use caster sugar or just normal sugar? and also what are some alternatives for brandy? both alcoholic and non alco. Thanks :)
susieb11390 6 months ago
@susieb11390 Any sugar will do. You can skip the Brandy. We use it to take the edge out of the egg taste.

# 16 ounces cream cheese
# 1/3 cup sour cream
# 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
