  • Your very good, but you literally stole all of those licks from charlie parker, which essentially what jazz is, just a bunch of stolen licks, but still nice job

  • Hot playing!

  • Where can I buy the coffee you're on

  • Meh it was ok I guess... Nah jks buddy that was awsum :D I'm only doing the 5th grade arrangement of this song which I thought was pretty dam sexy and now I think it sux compared to what u just played :P

  • awesome man, great tone.

  • nice cover dude in tune, on beat, great! im studying this for a different arrangement for my grade 6 alto sax. i was wondering how much that mic on ur sax is??

  • oh so nice..

  • such a dope song good job

  • I just auditioned with this on drumset

    !

  • good job

  • this is also my sudition piece for u of t...aaahhh. do u know where i can find sheet music for it online anyone

  • @TiffiBadu get the charlie parker omni book. it has it in there

  • this is the jazz band audition music 4 me...i can't play it to save my life :p

  • I'm playin this with my sax teacher but I'm nowhere near as good :P

  • ealeee tramposo.. hahaha

almost like the charlie parker solo hahaha

    good job

  • Cooooool solo! You're my teacher.

  • Hey ... I recognize the background track, from the Hal Leonard books, which I actually like a bit better than Abersold

  • Thats bebop for you. Lol. Good job.

  • Swingin', man!

  • Great job, great tone, and from the sound probably the best mic system i've heard on youtube. did i mention great tone?

  • niceeee tone man!

  • nice sax i hav a selmer paris with a selmer paris hard rubber mouth piece but my jazz mouthpiece is a brilhart metal jazz

  • good playing:D, i'm learning this aswell, where did you get the backing track from?

  • I've got so many blues tracks, I'm not sure. You can use any standard 12-bar blues pattern for this tune.

  • get the jamey aebersold book "all bird." has a bunch of charlie parker songs with a play along CD. or you can just use an F-blues backing track

  • Can you send me the sheet music and MDI track for this please? It's awesome, I might need a song like this for my Music btec swing night performance:)

  • is the rhythm abersold?

  • I don't think so. I've got so many tracks I can't even remember if it's canned or I did it myself. However, there are an infinite number of tracks out there with the same blues chord pattern, and in several different keys.

  • After listening to the drum track ............... it's definitely a canned track ............ I'm just not sure by whom.

  • Very, very nice playing, and I know how much work it takes to get this stuff off pat. You have a confident style with a clear tone. A little too much reverb, and my tip for that is if you can hear it, it is too much. Having said that I put too much on mine sometimes :-)

  • vraiment trés bien , jolie son , belle techinique , scalpyxb

  • Man im from argentina, this is so good!!...

Just for asking, what sax is that?...

    And your mouthpiece is ??

    Congrats!!!

  • 1959 Selmer Mark VI alto. Recently restored and Gold-plated by Mark Aronson. Dukoff D6 mouthpiece.

    Thanks,

    David

  • i have a 72 MKVI tenor, it needs restoring. i have a new cannonball raven tenor, its a beauty.

  • I have both saxophones, despite my disagreeing with you on that Yakety Sax video I find it strange how much my sax playing seems to resemble yours.

  • mm nice haha

  • Very Good sound onto tenor. Good Look !!!

  • Definitly not, just making sure I wasnt hearing things...

Man, keep it up, and your chops will be back in no time.

    Lol, nice

  • Wow! Very nice, did you add a slight reverb onto the saxophone sound?

Even still, VERY Nice! One of the best sax video's i've seen on youtube...

  • Thanks, man! Just getting my chops back. Started playing after Katrina following a 15 year hiatus. A little reverb never hurts, especially if you're fumbling over the Bird's riffs, like me.
