  • I keep looking for video of a Tesla actually creating energy as some people say.

  • how did you made it?¡

  • Comment removed

  • very cool....really clean looking too....I am trying to build my first TC with a flyback and haven't got the secondary to arc yet....do you really have to have the tank cap capacitance equal to the transformer inductance ? that's a lot of 2KV .1uF caps !

    thanks

  • DUDE you touched it HOW?!

  • como es el circuito?? me gustaria intentar hacerlo

  • im thinking about making a plasma speaker but i want it to have nice steamers like this one do i just hook wat i have to a tesla and could you give me a schematic

  • thats over 20kv you cant get air streamers with fly backs

  • @coolaidkiller101

Sure you can, depends on the output frequency, even 5kv at 100khz would produce "streamers".

  • hey those are nice

  • i dont thing its 20kv.probably a little less

  • I've got that same screwdriver as you. Nothing big but a little funny.

  • Hi, i have a really little Spark gap tesla coil, could anyone tell me how to go about making it solid state? and could anyone also tell me where i can get good caps cheap? im using those silly little chinese made caps and they last all of about 2 minutes :-/.

    thanks

  • firstly, go to 4hv(dot)com and ask the questions, you can be garenteed a good answer. secondly, the process of conversion to a solid state tesla coil is alot harder than just completely building a new one. read up on it. there is a book about tesla coils, its about 500 pages and it has all of the formula's and schematics. lastly, mouser(dot)ca has very good and inexpensive capacitors.

  • 500 pages!!! ouch lol...

the formula's always lose me at some point

    :-(.

    thank you very much :-).

  • no prob.

  • How the hell you can toutch 20kV on your hand? You dont feel nothing?

  • It has such little current, it is not enough to cause your nerves to convulse, or react.

  • Not just that, but the frequency is SOO high (you don't feel 20KHZ and above) because your nerves can't sense it.

  • Yes.

  • @bossoholic

This highly depends on the ampree, but on average it is 50khz to 60khz for the "skin effect" to fully apply to human tissue and bypass the nervous system. It is not that your nerves cant sense it, the frequencey induces enough resistence so the current never touchs the nerves, thus there is nothing for them to "sense".

  • A fine little coil! Yes, the corona streamers indicate that the coil is working well and is at or near resonance. But perhaps it needs a bit more terminal capacitance. A slightly larger cabinet knob or small toroid on the top might reduce the corona and allow a stronger main discharge.

Definitely one of the very best tiny TCs I've seen.

  • Thanks for your kind coments

How ever this coild doesnt excist anymore as it was just th first coil i built and did not know much at the time but i am planning of making a small tesla coil again as i bought some wima caps it is not going to be as small as this but its going to be bigger than this .

how ever in this yearr that iv been coiling i have made lots of sstc's half bridges , class e just sime single mosfet ones and other various hv devices

  • Dass hektik

  • WoW have you tried making a HHO cell with a PWM attached to i am sure a lad with your brains would have a field day , and once again well done

  • thanks for kind comments :)

well HHO cells arent actally my intrest lol, but i guess making a pulse witdh modulator wouldnt be much of a problem, but im very intrestec in high voltage

  • cool im very impressed dued good work

  • Why don't you put a toroid on it? Lttle sweet tesla coil with his little toroid! :D

  • lol i dont have this coil any more im making a large full bridge sstc

  • now put a video on how to make one on there i get confused when i see diagrams

  • the masochist's butt-plug

  • LOL

  • Nice little TC. Tesla coiling is a cool hobby, very rewarding. Keep going!

  • wow this is amazinggg im blown awayyy

  • Well air discharge from the topload means you are running close to resonance so you have good output. In other words you just have a good coil :). so what is the driver? Try the 555 flyback driver with seperate power supply for the flyback and the 555. I will download a schematic drawing program or something and give you the schematic.

  • hehe, nice micro TC.

  • please comment advice apreaciated
