Horrible movie. Renee is so ugly now. She was cute back on Jerry Maguire, but that's it. Now she's so anorexic and gross. And Harry Connick Jr. who you're supposed to be so in love with in this is ugly, hairy, and fat. And they don't make his character likeable at all. The leading man is supposed to be charming, funny, and handsome. He's none. Renee and Harry have no chemistry at all. And this movie was really stupid. And they always make small town folks be complete Mo-rons.

They used an entire movie to mock Minnesota and then they were too chickenshit to film it there. Ironically enough, they ended up in my home province of Manitoba, which really is a frozen wasteland with nothing to say for itself. Even if the majority of Minnesota was really the way it was portrayed, I'd choose it over this crapbox any day.

I just watched this movie and it is HILARIOUS!! I grew up in a small town in Canada, and it really is a lot like that, except the MN accent of course. Driving on the lake, home-made gifts, hunting, knowing everyone in town...yuuup, reminds me of home. Loved it.

i havent seen the movie, but minnesota is a lot like this. the small towns are at least. mostly the farther north you go, the more they are like what is portratyed in the movie. ive lived here in MN my whole life and we DO have an accent. MN is the best! =)
