  • 2) Metaphysics is not necessarily the basis for scientific knowledge, at least not in the sense that one must study metaphysics to do science. Science doesn't always assume that the things in question exist. It often asserts probabilities and examines mathematical relationships. E.g., if condition y, then event x is probable. When Atoms were "discovered" most scientists didn't believe they existed, they believed in an explanation-relationship.

  • 1) Mind isn't a "fancy word," which is why people think they know what they're talking about when they mention it.

  • I was probably misinterpreting your remarks, but how did you say God was infinitely complex and then appeal to divine simplicity? Good video.

  • I was only pretending to accept his thesis that the designer MUST be more complex than the universe and therefore NEEDS a designer. I do however advocate some form of divine simplicity (although not the strict form of divine simplicity advocated by St. Aquinas)
