  • I got a kaoss pad too, but how do u do this? please explain in another video!!!

  • Do you happen to have any docs that outline the sysex/osc messages you need to control the KP3? I've been looking all over the net and I can't find anything.

  • second part...

-also, when i open max runtime>polygomè and push the "sys button" (where it's written "gome" etc) no message written appears on the kaonome....

    -is it necessary "miniaudicle"?

thanx and sorry for the many noob questions!

  • man

mybe i got some trouble with my drivers but:

    hi man

i try the kaonome with my kp3 but somehow it dosen't work.

i tell you step by step what i do, maybe you can help me to succed.

-i downloaded the os2 and the lastest drivers (DrvTools_113_634333609088810000) from korg.(i got win xp)

-kaonome for win recognizes kp3 1 sound and kp3 1 pad, but neither "midi in" nor "osc out" got reactions when i touch the kp3 pads...

    to be continued...

  • reason ftw

  • i don t understand what is going on here....

  • type in Monome to yr search to see some monome videos. here i have made my KP3 act as a monome.

  • i know what is a monome but i don t understand how you do that whit you kp3, that s all, i m not an expert in english....

  • dude that is wikid :D

  • I've been fascinated by the monome and I'm actually buying the KP3 this week, so I sure will give your thing a try.

  • superb work man , the mir app is flakey at times but superb.,We had a 256 here a few days ......i will be honest , it was flakey and as much a pain in the arse to get working with mir as the kaoss pad i would say , we tried getting some sense from monome but despite being great designers i think they have lousy communication skills and support , in the end we passed on the monome simply as its was $1400 worth of pretty controller and buggy and it feels the genius is in the apps.

  • lol well now i feel a little better about the several years i've been waiting to pick one up! i'm releasing a new version of this app today or tomorrow that should fix all crashes and bugs on my end...

  • hi, does it work only with midi cable or also with usb one?

  • it should work just fine with a usb cable i think. let me know if you have any problems i'd be glad to help!

  • tnx 4 quick reply, i'm courious to try to use it as mlr, so as far as I have understood i need as req:

    - max/msp

    - mlr (from monome)

    - miniaudicle

    - your patch for miniaudicle

    am I missing something?

After this I have to start miniaudicle first, load your patch, start Vm and add shred

At this point it notice me that it will go in an ifinite loop and i can only pick for cancel or stop (is this correct?)

After this i had to turn line 35 to 1 in order to receive no errors for output

  • "At this point it notice me that it will go in an ifinite loop and i can only pick for cancel or stop (is this correct?)"

this is a hanging thread in miniaudicle. to fix the problem, try loading the MLR patch first; then set up miniaudicle. as soon as miniaudicle is set up, tap the touch pad on the kp3; this will help you not enter infinite loop mode.

then, make sure you hit the /prefix button in MLR. MLR itself is kinda a pain in the ass but if you can get that far i can help you do the rest

  • how, really awesome work man! very exciting to see how it comes out! Would love to use my kp3 as a monome~!

  • my drum sequencers are using the plain old

midi cc msgs x y pad touch and the rest of the midi cc controls are setup to do other stuff no sysex comands

i can see your triggering the hold button

so the pad stays lit up i trigger thepadtouch

i also had to invert the signals that where

    triggering the leds

maybe if u invert the pads touch signal

nah that would prob detrigger the part your trying to trigger

  • awsome man its lookin good

so does this emulate the comands

in the monome apps like the emulator

    for the korg drumpads

  • yeah it receives midi data, and translates it to OSC data that would be made by a monome; then receives OSC and translates it into MIDI for the KP3...

hey btw, you never figured out to to use sysex commands to control the LEDs did you? or to disable the pad so it doesn't light up everytime it gets touched? cause that would be really helpful.

  • i know what u mean though i think

in the last part of the vid

when u press the pad the full screen goes red

it may be somthing in the monome app

u should be able to fix it though

ill have test on mine see what i can come up with

  • this is really great work. keep it up!

  • nice!!
