  • Un timbre sympathique,même si la voix s'égare parfois,la faute à un vibrato un peu aléatoire;il en ressort néanmoins une fraîcheur et une spontanéité...

    (4:24):On frise presque l'indécence!

  • Ah This is the version of this aria that most melts my heart!. I love the Grace Moore,Steber, Tebaldi, Price and Battle versions of this aria but Maynor just nails this young girls passsion and abbandon in love . It is sung so well and so sincerely. This is a gorgeous recording and a stellar artist

  • Wow le français! Je ne connais rien d'elle mais quelle découverte!!!!

  • Una Louise insuperata...

  • Her voice and version are the closest to the original intent of this aria. She doesn't come on with the big guns so to speak but a simple and tender emotion, straight from the heart, and we feel it too. Many thanks for posting this of Dorothy Maynor. I can't recall hearing her before. So glad to know of this recording.

  • I am weeping...

  • Terrific! Her top notes were amazing!

  • Elle est la perfection!!!!

  • OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!

that was GORGEOUS!!! best interpretation ive ever heard!

  • Agree.

  • World class vocal talent! Beautiful.

  • I saw Maynor in 1949 at the Robinhood Dell in Philadelphia. She sang Hear Ye, Israel, and this 16-year-old music student was overwhelmed by her. It wasn't just the beauty of her voice but the nobility and purity she projected. She made a lifelong impression on me.

  • I wish someone would post Miss Maynor's recording of "Song to the Moon" from the Dvorak opera Rusalka. It's a stunningly beautiful performance. I wish it had used in motion picture Driving Miss Daisy instead of the one they did use. The thought occurred to me as I watched the movie (the first time). It would have been poignantly appropriate. Renee Fleming made the same point in her book.

  • She is wonderful.Thank you!Is she living?

  • Died in 1996

  • Yes, a nice and lovely voice.

  • Muy hermoso Onegin,gracias.

  • where in heavens do you keep coming up with these wonderful gems???

  • This is a classic of recorded sound.

  • Thank you, our dear friend, Onegin, for this wonderful audio of Miss Maynor - what a treat for everyone!
