Luke 19:5-7
5When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." 6So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. 7All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' "

You know, I have NEVER heard Ted say that he believes in JESUS. When he prays, it's to the "great white spirit" like the Indians do. When he says God...well lets just say it's his own version of God. In his book, he devotes about 2 paragraphs to a "God". That's it. Don't get me wrong - I love Ted. I just wish that when he bows down to God, that he would let us ALL know who he is praying to and give thanks to the One who is the ONLY way into heaven. Gunwacko
I don't believe he is a born again believer. But, then again, I don't think Bill O'Reilly is either. They still should be respected for standing up for the Body of Christ. The are what Jewish people might call (in this analogy) 'Righteous Gentiles.' Like the kind that saved Jews during the Nazi era.
so cool that nugent is a believer! anyway, my church employs believing and unbelieving musicians for our worship service. the worship is still led by believers (choosing of songs, singing, etc.), but it's pretty cool b/c over the yrs some of the musicians have come to Christ this way. even if Ted weren't a believer, it's cool to have him on the record. don't see anything wrong with it.
Back in 1993 I went to an archery shop in Des Moines IA where Ted was signing stuff and before he started he PRAYED in front of about 200 people. It blew me away. It wasnt one of your generic prayers either. Sometimes we think we know how someone should act if they are a christian. We arent always right. My 2 cents
Nugent is a believer... a brother...part of the body of Christ,he has attained salvation by faith, its done, finished. If anyone wants to judge him according to law rather than grace, prepare to have that same amount of judgement met to you....There ... I said it.
What I am saying is, Sure it is great to witness to someone unsaved, like Ted Nugent, but you don't "worship" his guitar playing skills and allow him to play on a Christian album. Do you think the Holy Spirit will anoint Ted Nugent's playing being a heathen? I think not.
Oh! And did anyone think about how awesome of a witness David Crowder (as a musician) is to Ted Nugent (IF he's not a Christian) by LETTING him play on his album?! I mean, he is allowing Nugent to experience his means of worshiping God through playing on his album.
I say, "GO CROWDER!" You're doing a great job! And besides, I LOVE Ted Nugent! hahahaha.
I aologize for the lunacy displayed by sdbeliever, you sir give the rest of us bad names and you are taking scripture completely out of context. If Jesus taught in stories, I should hope we are smart enough to understand the lessons which He was conveying (I do not think banning the Nuge from christian music was one of those lessons). Also I would reccomend looking at the very people with whom Jesus hung out and chose as his disciples.
I aologize for the lunacy displayed by gcfitton, you sir give the rest of us bad names and you are taking scripture completely out of context. How the fact that Jesus spoke in parables justifies having Uncle Ted on an album is lost on me. (Not that I object to you having Ted.) I have noticed that Jesus hung out with prostitutes. Do you want call girls as back up singers on your next Worship CD? Hahahaha
"95% of all major christian music labels are owned by secular labels like Warner Brothers, Sony, BMG, and Capitol."
Actually NOT a good point, but an IRRELEVANT one. Many of the major RAP labels are owned by white guys from the suburbs. But, so long as they don't influence the actual music, it's not an issue. Now if DMX starts having Sumner Redstone rap on his next mp3, you'll get the same reaction as your getting here. It's about AUTHENTICITY. Get it now?
Sorry to tell this budyy, but if you're going to have this view on christian music...you might as well not listen to it at all. Unsaved musicians play on about 90% of all christian records. When the producer and artist are making a record they aren't looking for a particular type of person, they are looking for a particular sound.
besides, what a great opportunity to witness to some of these incredible musicians! (instead of confirming the stereotype of Christians in their minds)
"what a great opportunity to witness to some of these incredible musicians!" Yeah, because I'm sure NONE OF THEM have ever heard The Gospel before! hahaha!
"Instead of confirming the stereotype of Christians in their minds." I'm not sure if you're aware of this but what turns off a lot of people to Christianity is not the stereotypes, but the reality. HOLY people are just a turn off to many heathen. Now matter how 'cool' you PRETEND to be, they can see right through it.
Hmmm... Is Ted Nugent Saved? Ahhhh???? If he is not, I hope he is NOT playing on the album. He is very talented but surely of a different spirit if he is unsaved. 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love is not in him. 17 The world and all its desires will pass away. But the man who obeys God and does what He wants done will live forever. 1 John 3:15, 17
"please tell me you are not really this legalistic..."
I LOVE Nuge and consider him an American Treasure, but I find your dismissive and condescending attitude towards those questioning his contribution to a CHRISTIAN album by calling them 'legalistic' laughable.
Please tell ME you are not really this clueless...
Was that what it's like when Ted's hunting on his ranch with automatic weapons? Or does he has cat scratch fever? Either way, it's some sort of confirmation for my taste in music and world view that he is on a DC*B youtube...
Ted Nugent claims to be a born again Chrisitan.

I don't either but he's not gonna contribute to it being annointed, if that's what you're after.
Don't believe me...Ask him! Say "Uncle Ted, we really want this to be an ANOINTED song." Tell us what he says! hahhahahahaha~

No, but WHEN WAS THE ANOINTING ever a serious objective for most Contemporary Christian Music?
LOL!!
