This guy is a dumbass. The LaCrosse is competing against the Hyundai Genesis, Lexus LS 460, and it kills Fords and Infinities. This car is better looking than the genesis inside and out, and the only thin better about the LS 460 is it's incredible stereo system. I understand that both of those cars have more horsepower, but from a luxury, not a performance perspective, the LaCrosee CXS wins. It even costs much less. Also, you see too many Lexas LS 460s, rarely does one see a Buick LaCrosse CXS.
The average 30-45 adult is not hung up on all this 0-60, blah blah. Most drive a car to get from point A to B. They see a price range that fits their budget and they get the nicest car for the money...or the fastest or whatever. $25-35K is plenty to spend for a new car, this one is much nicer than most and tries to climb the ladder like the rest of us. Won't be brand image, better be the car.
When you pay twice as much for a BMW it will be worth twice as much as a Buick. Yeah it might be double the resale value but that doesn't matter when u paid twice as much. The buick is a sharp looking car and is built as well as it looks. I keep my cars for 20+ years so when i buy one it needs to be good, thats why i got this.
Gosh, are our American designers really such incompetent goofballs that even though this country put the world on wheels it's the Chinese that did the interior design for a sharp car like this? I guess we really are becoming a nation of burger flippers. Sheeet!
@DJFG85 Please I have owned a vaunted 3-series while assigned in Germany. It was a POS! Unreliable and unimpressive. Only dumbass Americans are stupid enough to hump German taxis.
What a horrible review, like American politicians aren't corrupt.
Difference between Chinese and American corrupt government officials is that Chinese take money under the table, American take money on top of the table through campaign contributions.
No vision here. Lots of frills - interior glitz. Unfortunately the power train, suspension etc arejust the same old crap that GM has always churned. Sad really.
wow this guy talks a lot of crap about buick lol.........
Well I think this car looks awesome but think they should also bring the Buick Regal (opel one) with turbo over from china for young buyers with less money in their pockets
This guy like many Americans, just can't say anything 100% positive about our Country or our products. I just purchased a 2010 Buick CXL and the car is fantastic inside and out. It is a very good bang for the buck.
Well maybe but i drive a supercharged Buick Regal GS with mods and it has fwd and i dont have any problem. And then theres the Chevy Impala SS with 303 hp and fwd...but it would be nice to have a rear wheel drive version.
I worked on this car and the wood is absolutely not fake. Its a quilted Sapele (Entandrophragma sp.) veneer sourced from West & Central Africa. Unfortunately the wood is finished with vacuum formed plastic since its easier and cheaper to produce a more uniform produce this way. Also many car buyers, particularly in Asia, prefer the ultra high gloss finish this process produces. However this gives the wood a very plastic like look and feel, and also diminishes the chatoyance.
Why not create an option for the customer who wouldn't mind paying more for a less gloss finish. Also can you pass along that they should make it look more North American, I like the Allure from 2005-2007, and the Lucerne. I do like this car but it would like 4th in line. The CTS has better lines and is unique, same with the Malibu, and the Lucerne sorry about miss spelling Lucerne.
You will be totally satisfied with an Infiniti or BMW until they bring into their service department bent over and ass rape you. Stick with the Buick or Taurus.
@anthonyjcassino OMG, are you REALLY comparing a BUICK to a BMW? Get real! The BMW will have less long-term problems and will be worth SEVERAL times MORE than a shitty Buick when time to resell
@fourth1000 First, I can guarantee you can't buy a 07 7-Series anywhere near $20k. Second, that class of car always has poorer resale value. If you were more logical you would compare the shitty LaCrosse to a similar priced 3-Series to which the 3-Series would destroy it in every category especially resale value.
This looks like one great f#cking car...Period. It's so amazing how a blatant bias comes into play when a nice Buick, Cadillac, or Lincoln gets reviewed (by reviewers who surely drive imports). They nit-pick things that are also common on imports, and completely ignore the same things when the reviews are done on the imports. Glance at the dash of a Lexus or Benz....yeah, you'll see YARDS of PLASTIC on the dashes! Oh, Buick has used fake leather on the dash! And we don't like the radio display!
Looks good in black for sure. And yeah the wrap may be vinyl with real stitching but thats how it is on anything unless the base price starts at 50K. The thing that counts is that its vinyl with an expensive grain and finish.
The feds passed legislation along with the cash for clunkers that allows you to write off the sales and licensing of a new car from your 2009 income taxes. I helped my sister by a car this summer and that helped to save her almost $1600. (it was a cheap car)
And since you seem to be looking at domestic sedans, I would strongly suggest the Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan. Consumer Reports gives them a tremendous reliability rating. -Cheers.
I have an Enclave and I fell in love with how incredible it is, and I will be honest and I said to myself, a Buick? I don't know about that, but I was wrong, and this car says it all over again. This lacrosse is incredible, and I haven't seen many cars of this styling that looks close, it's very independent and stands out, in a very good way! That interior too, WOW. BMW 5series being sold for $12k-$15k at the least.
Cars that hold their resale value longer are Mercedes. Their S-class don't drop like a brick when compared to BMW.
