This is a super nice bike. It would be good if it went to the velodrome every now and then, but I'm picking it doesn't. Sad really, but that's modern 'pop' culture for you.
@stephensthebomb uh, the important thing is that people choose to ride bikes. Not where they do it. Fixed gear bikes have a longer history than velodromes. The idea that they should remain on the track is bullshit. So is the idea that they should have no brakes when used on the road.
"This is true for about 50% of older frames in Japan, and about 20% of newer frames in Japan. Most recent (last 10-15 year old) frames use the standard 100mm x 9mm front hub measurement, and 120mm x 10mm rear hub measurement, so there is no problem there.
If you find a frame with what we call '110 spacing', it means you need a hub set with 100 x 8mm front axle, and 110 x 8mm rear axle. This is a unique sizing to keirin frames only. "
hey very nice ride! i have a few questions though. hows the gatorkisn in the back? i really need to replace my stock kenda tire that came with the bike. ive been considering the gatorskin and the rando. which one would you go for? i dont skid 24/7 but i do skid sometimes.
i dig your bars too. hahahh what kind of stem does it use?
then i switched to a rando, has lasted me about 1.5 months so far with red all the way around. the upside to the reando is that it is much easier to skid/hold skids on it, while with the gatorskin, i found it very difficult to hold skids.
@mash4sfg I agree, I have a Gatorskin rear and it can get difficult to skid at times, but it's manageable. They last a LONG time though. I want to try that rando you guys are talking about. Whats the exact model tire?
A Little Tip!,, Flip Your Your Chain Ring Behing The Crank Arm,, That Way Your Chain Would Be Straigter,, Than It Is In The Video,,Trust Me! I had Lots Of Chain Related Problems,, && By Doing That I Fixed All My Problems!
thanks for the tip but...it doesnt apply to sugino 75's as they are track cranks.
the cranks your refereing to are prob the lower end cranks ie Rd's and xd's which have the double slot since they are road cranks. my chain line is fine and is whisper quiet and straight thanks to my phil wood bb.
also even if i could move the ring it would hit the chainstay being on the other side i know what im doing :]
This bike is fucking unreal. You had to have dropped around 2000 or more on it right?

hey i was wondering how you got your fork to have a clearance like that, what kind of fork is that?
yaawra 4 months ago
@yaawra
Frames/ forks with true track geometry will have tight clearance. Soma makes some nice track forks if you want to check that out.

Like I said it shows how much you know.
Just because it's njs doesn't make it a global standard. If you ride these things ever notice you rarely find 110 spaced hubs?
Besides look at top frame manufactures (ie look,cervelo,bmc,blue,Ridley,fuji,felt ect and you will find 120mm spaced only..wonder why?
110 spacing is used on older keirin frames in japan only.." The track standard" is 120mm in the rear. Ride the track and you'll know.

if it was true track, it would have 110mm rear spacing. tis nice though man. you should upgrade in straps.

@jdawg4334
Shows how much you know..:rolls eyes:
only Njs bikes have 110 spacing thats not a "track standard" buddy
this bike has been long sold. I use clipless anyway and when i do sprint then the straps come out.
