@Kilox1000 Because he had just an ordinary mask on, without any voice-distruptors? And because it was freakin' unrealistic? He is Bruce Wayne, everyone in Gotham knows him and his voice. As Batman he has to hide his identity, hide his freakin' voice and Dark Knight did it perfectly. It didn't only hide his voice perfectly, it made him even more darker and scarier.

@Kilox1000 Alfred sometimes has to remind him to stop using his "Batman voice", when he is Bruce Wayne. Other people also said that he would have a scary voice and even slightly sound like Clint Eastwood. So yeah, you can't hear them speaking in the comics, but fact is still that he changes his voice to hide his identity. I get where you're ocming from, since I also like Kevin Conroy and the entire 90th Batman show, but him having a weird, dark voice is simply the way to go.

It's interesting to see how deep Bale, as Bruce Wayne and an actor, goes into the character of Batman. Here, he's an amateur and doesn't have the "voice". But after years of taking a beating, of hunting down criminals and becoming Gotham's protector, he becomes someone else. Great transformation.
