Brother, I've been sick - feeling wretched, with a fever all day long - a down right suffering bag of germs and chicken soup, but this made me feel good for a few minutes. Cried at first. Laughed for a second or two and then just lie back and soaked it in. Nice. Thank you. Been considering one of these. ..the choice is made.
Ok, so here's something I very rarely say to guitar players any more... You're darnn good and a tasty picker. You've mastered what I try to tell guitarist all the time...
"Tone is in the fingers and heart, Gear ain't got nothing to do with it." Here you are getting that monster sound out of a POOPy guitar and a fender amp.
I play metal and have a regular 6-string tuned in F# , I don't like the 8 string guitars most bands use, and have been considering a baritone , the tuning is just too low for a regular 6-string. Just trying to find a model that looks a little meaner :P what other brands make baritones?
damn boy, you sure can pick that thing. A lot of folks are gonna go get a baritone guitar and wonder how come it won't make those amazing sounds that you can...
That is pretty wicked. Nice to see someone getting their money out of THD hotplate, and enjoying their Jerry Jones baritone. I have a neptune, which is a cool guitar, but not one of their baritone guitars. Makes me want to fool around with baritone, and see what I can do. Very well done, Jules. :-)
@ImmortalReaver yes, a Baritone's generally got a scale length between 26.5-28.5, heavier gauge strings, and is tuned down 4-7 steps below a 'standard' guitar.
A lot of the old Ennio Morricone spaghetti Western music uses them, also country, and the super heavy emo bands all use Bari's a lot. They just fill a space that isn't mined as much.
I love the tones you get out of that, and I'm glad to see you are getting your money worth out of that hotplate! Thats a great recording, and a fantastic song.
I love my Jerry Jones Neptune too. I don't have a baritone yet though, makes me want one for the twang factor.
Thanks for the nice comment. I highly recommend a Jerry Jones guitar - every one I've played is fantastic and the pickups in his guitars are great too.
I want a three-set of those pickups for my Danelectro Danoblaster. They come as standard Strat-style pickups, but I want the lipstick tube style on it.
just fabulous, and post a few more while you're at it, if you would . I've decided to get one of these since I've always opted for the lower timbers, usually a richer sound that way.
Awesome, way to exploit the true potential of these incredible instruments. I'm a baritone aficiando myself, I have about 6 Danelectro Longhorns which I converted from basses to baritones with custom upgrades (one even has a Bigsby), just the ticket when you need that extra sumthin' for those country tracks or secret agent movie soundtracks. I usually tune A to a...what's your tuning here?

What is the tuning sequence of the strings on a Baritone Guitar? Anyone?
KevinRexrod 8 months ago
@KevinRexrod B E A D F# B normally, but you could go down to A, or up to C, depending on the strings you use
