I only say bigger, cus its easier for me to move around on the screen when you got a bigger pad to work on. I know people who are professionals in their field and use an old 8x6 graphire, one of the smallest ones out there, just to do some quick illustrations or colors.
I still have my old Graphire Wacom Tablet, which I use from time to time to do quick shading or coloring. So if you are just looking for an easier coloring tool, you could prolly get an 8x11 graphire (or a bigger Intuos, also made by wacom) and be fine with it.
