  • Thank you sista.

  • Please tell us what colors you are rocking on your eyes...love it!

  • OMG. My husband's parents make GREAT money, and so do we, and we went out to Ruby Tuesday. We had a rude waiter. he was a tall white guy with a bald head. do you know we were the only black family sitting in there that Sunday, also we were the only ones he served PAPER CUPS to. white families before us had regular glasses. and white families that came in immediately after us were served regular glasses..and instead of putting our bill in the folder as it should, it was slapped on the table..

  • I love this look!!! Great Vlog. I was in Walgreens and this white female....cashier, after she rang up my food, she said " How are you going to pay....food stamps or cash?" I said, "NO, BITCH.....A DAMN VISA CARD!!" That just pissed me off. I see where you coming from. Great video!!!

  • Today especially in the work place racism is still present yet in a subtle way. The isolation, the favortism, the clicks. Yep racism is still present. White people who are racist need to realize black people are not going anywhere.

  • Your eye makeup is sooo pretty!

  • Darlin, you need to get the Alex Haley book Roots. The miniseries moved me, but the book educated me.

  • if you look at whites have always used us to clean up their mess .thats why obama won. it takes a black man to clean up the shit they done wrong . whites don't even trust whites these days . from railroad to buliding subway they treat us like this casue the know they can't live with out us . msputtycat williamsburg brooklyn haolla.

  • Slavery is still happening to girls and little boys in some countries. It is so sad, and makes me so angry:( So disgusting I wish I could do something about it.

  • Are we as evil as those slave masters? The way we have destroyed and raped mother nature. We need to get in touch with our roots because the soil that will cradle us at death is dying and withering, while we have yet to bloom.

  • Girl I love you Vlogs even though I am new to your Vlogs and tutorials, I like you already you are like my home girl. You definitely keep it 100 just like I and I'm pretty sure many of your viewers, you keep doing what you do and your gonna shine !!! Love ya girl

  • OMG!!! That second incident...I call it the homeboy/homegirl syndrome. That irritates the hell out of me uggg!

  • hey

i am not black and i own the roots series...bcuz wether ur black or white or what have you..the fact of the matter is, its part of the american history moreover the history of humanity.........i agree everyone should get it............and i hate it when ppl try to prove that they r down wit the get down...im spanish/asian and italian.......and when they see my last name they go all "latino" on me...like r u kiddin me! anyways i hear u on this vlog rite here!!

    god bless

    michael from canada

  • Hey girl, enjoyed this vlog as well. To add on to you when you talked about roots, check out the "Willie Lynch" letters. They will give some more insight on how our anciesters were treated. He actually wrote literature on how to break a slave. It will give insight on why we have so much hate within our race. He even stated that if slave owners followed it, it would take a century to reverse the pyshological damage!! Love your work and take care!!

  • i love your vlogs omgosh. you should do them more often seriously

  • I have had people do the talk like they got sense one minute than a whole nother person the next. LOL@ the only spots on the boat comment.

  • Hey GoldenChild I love your makeup and you are the bomb! So glad you are vlogging girl.

  • I've seen "Roots" but what touches me is more historically accurate things, like photos from that time. That brings the reality of such a past to me more than a film, personally. Either way, "Roots" is and likely continues to be an eye opener to the past.

  • Hi Goldenchild I've been watching u on youtube for a while and like your style. The makeup is always fabulous, and listening to u was like talking with a friend. I know you had a serious topic, but i just wanted to courage you to keep doing your thing:)

  • That waiter....is seriously...stupid =/ I hate that...that was messed up =|. But...I dont get the whole black people talk/white people talk. I mean...isnt it all just stereotyping people? I think it just depends on the person and how they were raised... everyone should be themselves. I dont know Ive met people talkng all different ways and are all different colors. But good videos! Keep them up dont let anyone ever get you down your extremely nice =]

  • That last frame with just your eyes looks so professional. Looks like a picture in a magazine. Your skills are good but have a nice canvas to work with.Your face. Perfect eyes for eye makeup.

  • Have you done a video for your makeup with those colors? you look so pretty!!

  • I found it!!

  • i would have been upset too. i used to work at a doctor's office and i wore scrubs. i was vacuuming the floors and wiping the windows. next thing i know i felt someone standing behind me.when i turned around it was a little white woman. i asked her may i help you. this bitch had the audacity to ask me if i clean houses. i was so fuckin mad.i told her"bitch im a secretary.slavery is over."normally im very respectful to every one,but that women was way outta line. i was very offended.

  • Well, I think the waiter should have waited for your husband to say something first! Because we all know us blacks love hot sauce and ketchup, we don't like our food BLAND!

  • you're so pretty i love your eyeshadow but yeah real house wives of atlanta is crazy and ne ne reminds me of newyork

  • I liked what you said about Roots. I saw it over the summer. My 10 yr son wanted to see it. We also rented the Next Generation and Queen.I liked that he got it and saw how it related to him. You need to watch the next generation. Its more uplifting.I hate when people say they can't watch Roots because its about old times. I believe like the Jewish people we can't see or appreciate where we going if we don't know where we been.

    Peace & luv

  • You should make more vids like this..your stories are very interesting you actually made me see everything you were talking about. good vid.

  • 1. You look soo pretty.

    2. This was a great Vlog. Loved. it.

    3. I watched Roots in England, when I was around 19 and I was crying then I was just angry. I HATE it when rappers use the N word when you appreciate what that truly means you wouldn't use it, what you would do is educate yourself. Knowledge is power...

  • I agree with You on the Roots situation!! I recently watched it as an adult with my Husband who is older than me and with our children and it does give you a different perspective on Life Today!!!

  • Because it was..There were six table around us..the waiter didn't bother asking them those questions and yes I was in ear's length..You can believe that you live in a world where there is no racism but I can promise you that you do not. Since you are asking this question I'm going to assume that you aren't black..I say this because we know when we are being targeted or stereotyped. It is a feeling that can be recognized off top. You would have had to experienced it to know what I mean.

  • I have been to Destin twice, and I know what you are talking about. Im from the A and we are use to the country ass folks, but they are a lil bit different in Destin.I am a very out going person but Destin put a very bad taste in my mouth. And its funny that people think that being offered hot sauce and ketchup is ok. He had a DAMN Stake you offer stake sauce. As a black women we know when stereotype when we here one.

  • Well said..I also can't believe that people think that it was ok to offer my husband hotsauce and ketchup..but hey..what can u do and yes, we do know when we are being stereotyped.

  • Exactly, Goldenchild. Some of these comments are ridiculously ignorant and oh so telling. For some of these ppl, I think the waiter needed to call you guys racial epithets for them to acknowledge that his FALSE assumption (i.e., a STEREOTYPE) was offensive and rooted in race. It's amazing how uninformed ppl are and how blind they CHOOSE to be.

  • The guy in the liquor store WAS offensive w/ his STEREOTYPICAL "Black talk" that probably switches on when speaking to those he perceives as Black sistah girls. *eyeroll* It's impossible to delve into it here but it's all about his assumptions. Sure, he thought he was being cool and letting you know he was "down" but it's the implicit assumptions he went off are offensive.

    We've come far.

We've got a long way to go.

  • Exactly..well put.

  • I really liked this vlog...it really was REAL!...I'm amazed at how many people still go off of stereotypes...it's 2008!!...but oh well I guess!

    Keep the Vlog's comin!!

  • i liked this vlog it had me think. Im iterested in traveling more. And I know when you talk to people had they try to relate to you, but I hate when people get ignorant.

  • Very nice vlog.....Roots will make you sad, mad, and pissed off. And so will the moive Rosewood. Oh and I am loving those color on your eyes.

  • To be honest, I think some things people say are not really meant. They won't think whatever they said was offensive but you may do that. Example if I see an asian person I assume they're chinese. Some will get offended by that...they could be Japanese!!. I really don't think the waiter meant anything bad unless his facial expression said otherwise!! and the whole accent thing with the other dude!!....maybe he was trying to be funny??? or maybe he was just plain crazy!

  • Sweetbiella: And maybe you're just really naive. In trying to decipher the incoherency in your comment, it seems that you think someone has to be mean, obnoxious, or acutely aware in order for their actions to be offensive, prejudice, or racist. You're wrong and very uninformed. Educate yourself. Attitudes like yours are part of the problem.

  • Great!

  • Great Vlog

  • Maybe the waiter on the cruise offers ketchup & hotsauce to everybody who gets a steak? Seems reasonable, I guess. But, I suppose if he didn't do it to anyone else, then yeah, that's really tacky & racist of him. I hate racial assumptions (like I have redhair, so I must be "hot tempered" & like to get drunk on beer every night -- neither's true!)Roots is so heavy. Husband & I watched it last Feb. & no matter how many times I see it, I cry my eyes out. Everybody should see it!

  • I agree bonnie..everyone should see it..but no he didn't ask everyone who had beef did they want that..There were tables all around us and he didn't bother asking them. It was a little strange and aggrevating you know.

  • What the hell is wrong with some people?! I'm sure you were mad enough to want to smack that ignorant waiter! People need to wake up and realize that sterotypes are not always true, nor should they be perpetuated! Maybe you could write a letter of complaint to the cruise company.

  • Well try not to get mad at such small things because there are so much bigger things to get upset about. Sometimes when people say things like that it might just be because a lot of people come into that business and ask for those things or do those things in that area. I perform services on women and I can tell when some women are certain ways,ex...diva or not...sometimes I am wrong though, but that's okay. I'm black and I love me.

  • GOTTA LOVE NENE!!! I think she is the most down to earth out of all of em!! I hope there is a 2nd season. LOL!!

    LOVE YOU GURL!!

  • this vlog was cool,i went to my homepage on utube and didnt see it and decided to go to your page and i was like hey!whats that?!gurl i have never missed one episode of the housewives of atlanta.I watch it with my bf's mom lol.Lisa is a snitch girl I truly believe she told Kim,she was just too quiet and stuff. Sheree needs to go somewhere with that ponytail and that shag carpet rug dress she had on at the reunion. Rumor has it that her husband saw the show and her money habits so 7 figures...no

  • this is a nice vid. LOL

  • Love the look in this video...and I hope you had wonderful Thanksgiving at home with your family.

  • I don't know if your going to read this but I hope you do. First of I want to say that I understand your discomfort with the actions of people (white) when it comes to their interactions with your race. I am a black woman 41 years old and I live in Staten Island, NY which is one of the most racist and segregated areas in NYC. I was born and raised here and I deal with racist situation on a daily basis. I try my best to look beyond the actual act and really evaluate the situation Cont'd

  • WOW!! you are amazing, keep doing what you are doing. Roots is a reminder for us all

  • nah thats real!!!! so please vlog some more!!! =)

  • that boy put on his black-scent if u will... the problem is if u call some1 on it even in a non-offensive way, they take u for an angry blk b*tch

  • did u not think thats what he likes on his seafood and beef. because Im from texas and we eat ketsup on every thing

  • I would have asked the waiter for some grey poupon instead of ketchup---wit his raggedy butt!!! glad you handled things the way you did---some white people like for us to know they are down, but in turn end up looking like a fool instead.I remember when my mom and dad first saw roots---both of them were so dang mad for a long time after that---I've seen it since I've been grown and it makes me cry hard. I like your vlogs.

  • yes my dear i liked this vlog..............i hate the stereotype that people put on black people and i am proud u didnt give the waiter a piece of your mind

  • Girl what about when Kim said no I don't have cancer and it was 3 years ago..hmmm well why are you still wearing the wig !!! and what made your hair fall out. It hasn't grown back in 3 years! I luv Ne Ne hair cut. And I love the part where she says. The Ex part would be wrong. I strip every night for my husband. lol thats my girl. Anyway the colors are great.

  • what was the name of the movie??

  • Hey I feel you on this whole thing.I go to cosmetology school full time and I have some students in my class that act like that {the dude with the nice eyebrows}.It is just plain ignorance.Btw i love the look you have on,those colors are perfect.

  • i love nene but who the fuck is big poppa and thanks for talking about the cancer thing i thought i was hearing things cuz i thought i heard her say she had cancer then say she didnt glad to know i aint hearing shit

  • Great video! More please....lol!

  • I really appreciate your views on racism. I am a white woman, and I am working with a staff of 90% black men, and a community of about 750 black people. I was raised in a rural area of mostly whites, and truly do not understand the black culture or what is offensive to you. These types of videos help me a lot, and I want you to know I appreciate it. Sometimes we are coming from a position of ignorance, not racism.

  • lol ur funny

  • Miss LeCheryl I love your Real Talk Vlogs... they show a side of you that we don't necessarily get to see in your tuts :) I also want to watch roots but I know I'll be like you, crying and what not so I'm trying to make sure I watch it when I have some free time. It is a shame how we were treated back then!! **SMH...sigh** On a lighter note...I just love your accent, "Your grand-deddy had a deddy and he had a deddy..." LOL...love it!!

  • great video girl

  • and i'm loving those colors together. =]

  • You are looking fierce darlin'! That waiter was completely wrong, but I agree with you that I don't think that he meant to be racist. He prejudged you, but it was good that you let him know that he shouldn't repeat the same behavior in the future.

  • The other day at the mall I went over to the Este'Lauder counter and I was using the eyeshadow testers to do some swatches. Well when the sales lady came over I told her the colors I wanted in my trio and she said "Um before I get those I think you should know they are all $15 each. Do you still want them?" I just looked at her and grabbed my child then went over to the clinique counter instead. Does anyone here think I overreacted or would you have been thinking what I was thinking?

  • Hell no, I don't think you overreacted. I would have taken my business elsewhere as well.

  • You did not overreact. There was no reason for the salesperson to tell you that the shadows were $15 as if you couldn't afford them. I would have done the same thing, but I would have headed to the Prescriptives counter :-). You don't reward that kind of behavior. I have had similar (and worse) experiences. But you were completely in the right.

  • You didn't over react I would've done the same thing & hopefully w/o some words... people are just plain ig-nant (used intentionally)!!

  • No, not all spend your money where you are respected.

  • I don't know where to begin...so I'll come back but I do want to say that the look you are wearing is banging...and on the serious you are right about those certain things that we tend to do that we as a collective should be made aware of white/black/chartreuse or polka dot...there's just some shittake you just don't say or do...its not political correctness its just checking yourself...TACT...keep up the Real Talk, looking forward to #3. Peace.

  • GOLDEN CHILD,

Your experience with the waiter was pure ignorance and I think that he assumed that you and your husband wanted those types of condiments I don't understand why people stereo type someone from just appearance alone. It's a shame that we still have to be subjected to ignorance and racism in this day and age. Great video have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

  • First-Love NeNe and Lisa lol

Second- I think the guy at the liquor store felt like it was ok to be himself since you started a conversation so I don't think he was being racist

Third-The waiter it was wrong for him to assume your hubby wanted those things i would've checked him right there

Fourth-Roots i have never sat and watched the whole thing b/c it gets me too mad, we have come along way but we still have aways to go

Love the vlog keep'em coming God Bless you and your family

  • i agree with your second point.

i don't see it as being racist,

but then again i wasn't there,

so i don't know how he said it.

but i agree that maybe he was more himself.

  • I understand everything you are saying.

  • I love your acrylic nails. They look great. Do you do them yourself? If so you should do a video on a refill or something.

keep up the good work on the vids!

  • lol i don't watch housewives of atl, but i may have to now! haha. i love the topics you talked about. have a happy thanksgiving! :o)

  • I disagree with you that you thought the man in the liquor store was being racist? Maybe thats genuinely the way he acts and the way he greeted you at first was him being something else you know.. calling him racist is a bit over the mark tbh. I agree with you about the waiter though.. that is very very rude. Hope you said something. The make up looks gorgeous anyway btw :) Racism is something that pisses me off to no end I'm telling you now.. the way people talk about obama gets me upset.

  • I am loving the makeup. Are you planning a tutorial on this look cos I am dying to recreate it.

  • Your eyeshadow is bomb girl. <333 Love ya.

  • Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

  • first let me say love makeup! and yes girl that show was crazy. i thought it was gonna be a lil more reckless but i still enjoyed it.

  • ...the makeup is on point!!! OMG...what colors are those? FAB look. You did touch on some serious points in this vlog but that just goes to show how much substance there is to your character. Serious, funny, or tuts..I'm here.

  • OMG!!!! We travel to Destin at least once every year. Although we did have that "lone raisin in the bowl of oatmeal" feel...no one did or said anything off.

  • My church group goes to Destin every year around Christmastime.

  • I MISSED IT....I will watch it tonight...dern it!

Man you look flawless honey! THOSE LIPS and I still want your hair...

Heart ya and have a good Thanksgiving!

  • I understand. I went to the grocery store & wen i got to the check out line the cashier asked if we were paying w/ stamps........... R U KIDDING ME... I laughed but didnt say anything, just looked and she apologized soooooo fast. Then i said, Cash boo dnt get it twisted!!!!lol Love the vid, keep correctin' em'.

  • That exact same thing happen to me as well..SMDH at ignorance..I was so pissed.

  • I feel you on that girl.....I'm also a big girl and I love being that way!! I just want to get healthier and start back exercising. Good Luck with your journey and your make up is so beautiful!!!

  • Destin is full of stuck up people. It's very beautiful, but need some diversity. Now I do believe, know that their are some blacks that are stuck up also. I didn't have any "encounters" in Destin, but a lot of turned up noses...........On a lighter note, I love that eye make up!!!

  • you eyes look gorgeous! =]

  • your makeup is beautiful, do you have a tutorial for this. Also I watched it too last night and I was on the floor.

  • You are looking so fierce here...You are a trip and a half gyrl.

  • I just wanted to say that i enjoy ur real talk vlogs, and your overall channel. I have the roots collection dvd and i tell you that will touch you. It will bring out anger and let you think about things from then and wats going on in today's society. Great vid

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving

    Big Hugssssssss

  • good video I haven't seen HOA, I hear that it's good. I remember watching Roots when I was younger I can't watch it now, I will cry too but then get mad than a mofo..and thanks for giving me the "new drink" Im trying that tonite! Happy Thanksgiving girl!

  • Love all your blogs no matter what the subject. Both real and uncut. Stay Sweet

    ~HDC...

  • Hey LeCheryl,

You had me cracking up! Well, I prefer horseradish mustard sauce on my steak. LOL I am black and I don't like hot sauce. Hopefully the waiter got the point. I can't watch roots or rosewood because I am going to come to angry and if folks say something out of the I will get ABW syndrome, because I work in a office with some rather politically incorrect and unethical folks.

    As always,

    Love yah and happy thanksgiving.

    Takia!

  • Hi Goldenchild,

I enjoyed this videoso much. You got the issues out there and people need to understand how their words and actions can affect another person. Its not fair that stereotypes are formed on the basis of how some people may act because everyone does not act the fool. Thanks for posting!

  • I do feel you on the speech. When I experience that, I don't entertain it. I let people know that I don't talk like that, and it's not cool to talk to me that way!

  • I wish you did vlogs everyday! :)

  • "Hot sauce or ketchup sir?" AHAHA!!! Right! I don't think he meant any harm. He probably just didn't think he was being offensive because people never say anything!

  • So True, Racism is so ridiculous I get it both ways coming Because I'm biracial

  • I love your eye shadow. I wouldve been to thru w/ that waiter. I cant stand when people see me and assume I talk slang and all that when they see me. Then when I start talking they look stupid b/c i dont talk like that.I like this video do more like it. :0)

  • I know exactly the way you feel; I'm hispanic, some things like that happen to me as well.

Love the look you have on in this vid.

    Great vid girlie--*hugs*

  • This is one makeup i actually personally like, and wud try to wear... you look so beautiful

    :)

  • I hear ya. My white co-worker said to something to me in ebonics and thought I would laugh......not! Sometimes you just gotta let things slide, and sometimes you do have to let people know your offended. It's a lot of picking and choosing your battles in society and people who fear what they don't know.

  • You need to do a vid/tut on the eyeshadow look you are rocking in this vid...

  • please keep them coming u r an intelligent woman

  • omfg but deshawn was cool dat bitch kim is anything i laughed her out that lisa is a troublemaker i love nene she is cray ass hell and dat man bitch sheree i would have smacked that wack ass ponytail off her but bookie what about my boo the lil gay guy love him did you see that weave to die for see i need a good gay friend lol but anyway lets talk about these racist fucks in memphis dats why im moving back to DC i hate this bitch girl i cant get with the racist fucks!love the video bookie xoxo

  • its so sad that racism is continuing and who knows when will it stop..but much love to your vlog girl you tell it like it is luv the makeup

  • you welcome

  • well, I'm sorry sister but I tend to do the same thing. I talk like the people I'm around......totally in auto polite (sub-consciously)

  • I feel you and the look is Fab.

  • can't wait for atl season 2 and Roots and Amistad both have me like hell no when i see them...our people are strong we do indeed owe a great deal to our ancestors...look how far the LORD has brought us.......NEVER WOULD HAVE MADE IT!!!

  • Yes racism is still alive, sad but true. Great Vlog.

Kim is out of control!!! LMAO

  • I understand what you mean with racism, my case is a bit different but I still do have a huge problem with it. I'm living in another country now and every time I talk, people say: ''Oh! You're Canadian!'' And I can see their reactions change once they know! First, they ALL repeat what I say and laugh (not funny when you're de 106th to repeat it). Then, since they think that I was living in a forest back there, they talk to me like I'm stupid! And they don't care, I won't be mad, I'm Canadian -_-

  • You made some interesting points in this video. How did you respond to the condiment question? I don't really like to say, "talking black". I think this feeds our stereotypes and holds us back. I would rather say, "slang or incorrect English". I have a copy of "Roots". It is hard for me to watch. It makes me cry and angers me. For my family, it was my great, great grandmother on my grandfather's side that was from slavery. Good points. Vlog more please.

  • Yeah i watched the Housewives of Atlanta reunion. NeNe is off da chain. Lisa is definitely my favorite. It was fun to watch her get so crunk.

  • OMG i love that show NeNe is definitely my favorite so is Lisa and Oh I thought she was going to kick Kim's ass

  • I'm in love with your eyeshadow!! and I love when you vlog! lol
