I do not know why people call Mary J the queen of anything in the singing arena. While she is a beautiful chick her voice is just basic. If her voice is queen what are the voices of people who really can sing?

she ruined it at the end with that "power to heal ourselves" talk, kind of defeats the message of the song -- that we need and are offered the grace of God, precisely because we lack power, lack self-sufficiency, lack worthiness.
Well "EncompassedRunner" what mary was trying to say is that through God, he allowed her to stop blaming others for her situations and yes even the bible lets us know that we have to be accountable for our own actions. Mary finally realized after all these years that she was in control of her own destiny. Even the bible tells you, that you have the choice to freewill which includes your destiny!
