  • i love your hair!!!!

  • i cant hear you with thelovely music ,its annoying because i want to be focused on your words and when a nice tune comes on it takes away the attention anywai its a tip, love the shine and gloss in your hair

  • you should have a beauty salon ill come if you do

  • Girl, I have growing dandruff too.. THanks so much

  • is it true that you should use leave in conditioner for African american hair?

  • yes.....leave ins are good for anyt type osf hair

  • do you straighten your own hair?? if so vid please or atleast what straightener aka flat iron ( i got sense lol) do you use

  • thanx =]

  • What do you recommend for permanent coloring? And do you use neutralizing shampoo after a permanent or demi color? Thanks.

  • thank you so much !

  • Revlon is too harsh, even a mild. Suggestion:

If you apply the rinse before the conditioner your hair will be softer after the rinse. Apply the rinse and let it sit the 10 mins, whatever instructions say, then the last 5 minutes add the conditioner, sit under your dryer, then rinse with warm, then cool water until it runs clear. Then follow with your leave in condition.

  • Hi Lapreghiera, Revlon may be too harsh for your hair's texture but it works well for me. This is why I suggest that you all do what works for you. As far as the tips on the conditioner and rinse..I'm good on those..I don't fix what isn't broken:) My method hasn't failed me thus far but thanks for your cc.

  • where do you buy aphogee?thanks

  • sallys

  • Vaseline, that's funny, because I use to use that in my baby girl's hair until I put a relaxer in it, now her curls and deep waves won't come back is there a reason for this? What about Olive oil or mineral oil, can those be used in the hair for dryness and/or to add shine? My hair is breaking off really bad what can I do for it that's not expensive? I like your style you come up with inexpensive ways to do things as do I. Let's talk. email me. Love your videos, just found you last evening.

  • Use the treatment she talks about in this video, it's called the 2-step protein treatment by aphogee it works make sure to the moisture ballancer afterward it really really works.

  • Thank you.

  • Don't put relaxer in her hair. It's not good for the skin as is because of the penetrable toxins that permeate the scalp and skeleton, and enter the brain and leave a green film on the surface.

  • thank you, I have decided not to relax her hair anymore and I have given her some two strand twists, which I will do a video on today March 23,2009, so please check that out for me and comment and rate. I put the cholesterol conditioner in her hair after using the clarifying shampoo and a moisterizing shampoo I left the cholesterol conditioner on her hair for 1 hour with a plastic cap and no dryer, and let me tell you it was soo soft and pretty, I do see her testure coming back, so thanks.

  • Green film? Where did you hear that from? I knew about the toxins, but never heard of green film. That's scary...

  • I have been looking it up for a while now, after I heard from a person on youtube about it. I then saw in a forum a person who said her sister worked in the morgue, who also claimed that a woman who bleached her hair repeatedly had a yellow film over the brain! That's why it should not be used on children, since their brains are developing.

  • Oh, wow, that is truly gross. I am so glad I stopped using relaxers and I will not ever put one in my daughter's hair ever. That is horrifying. Thanks for responding.

  • I love your make up. brings out your brown eyes

  • Hi, this information is VERY helpful...and your hair is LOVELY! I will definitely listen to you instead of the lady at the shop I used to go to with hair shorter than my brother's, lol...

  • I absolutely loved that Revlon relaxer. When I had a relaxer revlon gave me the best results.

Where I live people love that black rinse. At my local Sally's, people steal that black rinse so much they keep all of them behind the counter. Cryin' shame.

  • Oh wow havent seen no creme of nature in a minute, LOL!

  • You are right, Jet black hair is very beautiful on your complexion. You should be a professional, you're so smart! (maybe you already are a professional) This wouldn't be useful for me, but it would be to some of my girlfriends :)

  • growing dandruff??? wth

  • enjoyed it!

  • you are very pretty and this was a great video

  • OMG, you were killing me with that 90s music....took me back to high school. I use the ApHogee products as well. I like your style.

  • Did you say you put vasoline in your hair? My biggest problem is shine and I just used a dominican rinse that everyone raves about but it did absolutely nothing.

  • mannn..i never heard of Aphogee until now and im noticing that people that use it have really pretty manageable hair.... so im guess i need to jump on that train..LOL

  • Yep...I've been using it for years and years..Best stuff around..especially for the price.

  • Love the music in the background......memories. :)

  • my love do you ever dream of candy coated rain drops.......soul for real....i looovvee ur backround song....lmao

  • Yo eyeshadow is SLAMMIN'!

  • Your eye makeup looks gorgeous

  • cool video. i was contemplating cutting my hair because there is some damage and the middle refuses to grow. i dont get it cuz i sleep on my stomach the majority of the time. it can be very frustrationg. i never saw a lye relaxer either. but maybe i'll try that. the kind in the box dont straighten my hair enough, the effects doesnt last long and my hair is always dry. thanks for the tips. i'll see if it works for me because i really dont want to cut my hair. i want it healthy and easy to manage

  • try taking hair vitamins and do not perm the middle of your hair for about 4 months. that is what i did to get the middle to grow out.

  • What hair vitamins are you using, how long have you been using them and when did you see results?

  • hair, skin, and nails at walmart. They work and take about 3 months to see full results. check out ateeya haircare regiman too, it is a good one. :)

  • Thank you very much; I saw it at Walmart the other day but didn't purchase it. The next time I go, I'll definitely get it.

  • ok ignore my comment on your thanksgiving look about the relaxer u use cos i now know...lol.thanks for sharing

  • do you put anything on your hair on a daily basis or do you do all that and not put anything until the next time you wash your hair ?

  • Love your makeup and your southern accent!

  • I luv it-i havent see alphogee in ages and yes it stinks but it works-lol My candy rain playin in the background girl u r ol school. Luv your personality!!

  • nice eye makeup

  • That's what I'm talking about, my Andis flat iron works wonders, I don't know what all this chi and fhi is about, maybe be i'll find out one day, but for now, Andis baby!

  • I love your makeup!!

  • I just started my transition to natural hair!! woohoo! I am excited. I have the aphogee and i want to know how often do i need to do the two step treatment? my hair is not damaged,

  • what is the difference between lye & no-lye relaxers?

  • lye relaxers have sodium hydroxide (also known as lye) and leave your hair much more moisturized in my opinion and the effect lasts longer too while no-lye relaxers have guanidine hydroxide which is supposed to be milder than lye but which leaves your hair much drier

  • Ugh, why didn't I find this video before I went out and bought all those high priced items that did nothing on my hair ... or maybe I just expected more because of the price. You have a gorgeous head of hair and it's nice to know that you were able to achieve it (though genetics mostly)without speding a fortune.

  • hey u guys i have info on where u can get healthy hair products if u r interested please let me know. thank u

  • when can u use a rinse when u perm ur hair?

  • I use the same color brand that she uses. I use mine right when I'm done washing my relaxer out with the neutralizing shampoo.

  • i love cream of nature. I always keep it around but I can;t use it every week cause it leaves a build up-like residue. You know, that sstinky aphogee stuff does work! And it really stinks like all hel. I forgot about that stuff, I think i'll pick some up because my hair is going crazy on me!!

  • Yes, Creme of Nature gives dandruff-like build-up on the scalp. Any clarifying shampoo used once a month will keep build-up at bay.

  • This is just about the only video that I believed 100% what you were saying, like you were genuine and you weren't just trying to say soemthing and make people buy things that dont work. I have bad damaged medium textured hair and Im going to take your aphogee advice. & see what progress it makes.

  • I like your videos! They are helpful!

  • Yeas.... that stuff does stink!

  • you are great

  • I like Revlon Realistic. My hair doesn't fall out with it.

  • Hey GC I tried to find the folica site but I can't locate it. Could you give me the full address sorry to bother you

  • why did you cut your hair hun, looked good here. It looks good now as well, fits you. But I like it here as well. Loving you videos, Im thinking about getting one of your brush sets, gotta support ^.^

  • Does the aphogee give the same results on natural black hair? I have non relaxed hair and I do tend to experience breakage

  • this is not disappointing.. its an eye opener for me cause girl i spend between 50-80 dollars a week (which has limited my dinners to honeycombs and pork and beans) at the salon that only uses paul mitchell. i never knew it was so easy and i will try the aphogee asap cause my breakage is out of this world. THANK YOU so much for posting this.

  • can the aphogee damage treatment be used on un-relaxed hair?

  • yes! and it is great!

  • cool! Now we know ur secrets... lol! I hate having to flat iron every week....

  • U are pretty(no homo)! I luv the make-up u have on in this vid.

  • hi goldenchild789,i`m very new to makeup and hair care and your viedos really help me to get started, i went out today to get some new stuff you talk about on your viedo and i just did my eyes for the first time in my life and i`m 29 and it turned out great thanks to you,i just need to get my colours down.you have no idea how thankful i am for your videos, but wanted to say thank you soooooooooooo much.

  • I loved Cream of Nature when I was relaxed. It doesn't work now that I'm natural. :( I'll have to find another clarifier.

  • what's growing dandruff?

  • its when your hair is growing and you start to get dandruff. its basically just dandruff but instead of dry scalf dandruff, its from your hair growing

  • There is no such thing as "growing dandruff" Dandruff occurs during the normal growth process of scalp cells. In a normal scalp the cells grow and are sloughed off approx every month and are replaced. With dandruff the cells that are shedding shed before they are dead. There are numerous sites on the web to read from to help you understand.

  • Thanks for the lesson but it's not needed. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I really don't need a recap. I'm well aware of what dandruff is and where it comes from. Thanks:)

  • You sound like you were offended by my comments but I wasn't trying to give you a lesson on dandruff and where it comes from. I was responding to one of the posters who asked is there a such thing as growing dandruff.

  • Hi..No I wasn't offended just letting you know that I'm good on the lesson. I'm sorry if it seemed as if I was rude..I wasn't trying to be. I apologize.

  • No Offense none taken! Keep up the good work!

  • Hi,

I am using the red creme of nature. Ilove the way my hair looks. Have you tried it? What does the blue creme of nature do for your hair? Your hair is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s !!

  • continued....

I use to wash my hair weekly, I use to use a bunch of products (like you), and my hair was DRY with flakes.

No flakes + no build up + no dryness + No itchy scalp + No split/damaged hair = HAPPY ME!

  • I was giving u ADVISE to ease ur dandruff. Never did i say natural cures all, I just told u what I KNO on MY experience with dandruff.

3 weeks for a wash unsanitary? I dnt POUND my hair with MULTIPLE products daily. Therefore, I dnt have build up. I use Carols daughter hair blam and a moisturizer and keep it movin. My hair doesn't require much, so i dnt give it much other than what it NEEDS.

  • I've been natural for 7/8 years, but I still have dandruff, sadly. Relaxers aren't for me anymore, but I doubt that it's responsible for ALL cases of dandruff. I know mine is because I have oily skin and scalp. I just have to wash more often. BTW, Head & shoulders intensive works great. I don't get dandruff as quickly when I use it.

  • Just brought some of the products that you mentioned in the video...

My hair had broken off alot since I took out my sew in weave, so hopefully the Aphogee will help with that..

    Thanks for the help!!!

  • I love Aphoghee products especially the damaged hair treatment, it's stank but it works Cream of Nature is another one I trust & love it's been around 4 aminute which is a good thang

  • your hairs' nice

  • Thank you for the wonderful information. You are very pretty and I love Jet Black on you!. What was the name of the Flat Iron that you bought from Walmart? I have tried flat irons and it did nothing for my natural hair suprisingly, so I have to chemically straighten it which I hate. I would love your advice. Thanks.

  • Have you heard of Begin? oriental black is the deal!

  • Love you and all of your videos! Love that you are keeping it real while showing the masses how to stay pretty! You Go Girl!

  • What is the second Apoghee product in the video called? You said you must follow up the short square bottle with the one with the teal writting on the front. What is the teal bottle called?

  • You are SUCH a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN!!!

I just had to stop in the middle of this video to tell you that. I'm growing out my hair natural, but I think those things will work on my hair too.

You are workin that hair and make-up. Your skin is very clear too. : )

  • My hair gets dry a few days after the relaxer what can i do to help that because I hate greasing my scalp it weights my hair down?

  • My daughter had an african american babysitter and her daughter did my daughters hair one day and used some sort of grease, hot grease I think they said I wanted to try that, do you have a name brand I could try. It made her hair so soft and manageable

  • its called a HOT OIL TREATMENT can bw found in sally beauty supply or walmart

  • I am mixed with mexican/white/native american and I cannot grow my hair out i dont blow dry it or anything and it is brittle and dry breaks off all the time. Would these products work for me?

  • try olive oil as a hot oil treatment before shampoo. or mix with conditioner and cover head with a plastic cap or walmart bag lol and sit under dryer. if no hair dryer you can do plastic cap, hot towel, plastic cap. this feels so good. i leave on until towel is no longer warm. i microwave my towel. use a clean towel for this. or really hot water and wring out with yellow gloves.

  • just to make a comment about the person that said good grade of hair. I dislike that. I am mixed with spanish ahve curly hair my afican american friends say oh i cant get my hair like urs cos ur half spanish.. and I try to tell them they can have nice shiny hair too if they find the right products that works for them.. its all about treating your hair and finding the right balance everyone and anyone can have silky straight hair sure it may take a bit more effort than others but its possible

  • ^^^^ Maybe Btubby21 wasn't talking about bi-racial hair. PLEASE don't ever just assume that when people say "good" hair or that somebody has a good grade of hair, they mean bi-racial. We all have our different meanings of "good".

    Feel me?

  • please use that lipgloss/lip stick in more tuts..that looks the best on you that I have seen in all of your videos..

    :) u are pretty+

  • gurl you just have a good grade hair!!!

  • You're a cute lady.

  • this was helful! thanks for posting girl! :)

  • i wish i had jet black bu it wouldnt look good on my skin tone but it looks gawgeous on you gurl! :)

  • #1..Your name is very fitting..

#2. If it bothered u so much..why did you watch it?

    #3. Getto is spelled ghetto:)

#4. If you can't say something nice..get the hell off my channel:)

  • I love your response. You sure told her.

  • those be the same dumb ones with no freakin pic or videos! Just plain bitter and rude, go be rude and bitter somewhere else, ignorance is a disease and I ain't tryna catch you feel me?

  • tell em girl!

  • tellem cuz she they dont know mrs sanders what is the last name know.by the way can you do my hair lol love ya bre.time for some babies

  • Thank you for your tip

  • I LOVE the Aphogee treatment! I ran across that stuff about two years ago and never looked back.

  • wow where do you work? i just love your hair advice and that no lye products is so true!!! that why all those no lye products all says that they are conditioning. i use elasta qp no base relaxer. i do use those nexxus products. seriously thanks.

  • Now I don't have kinky coarse hair but paying attention to ingredients helped alot. Hope I don't step on any toes but I want to inform you ladies. But yeah, I have a dr. Miracle shampoo conditioner that I never use because of the sodium laurel sulfate. Petroleum, mineral oil will clog your pores not allowing your skin to release toxins etc... Anyway, looking forward to your new videos! Aaris Zilton.

  • Golden child love your videos and you. Thought I'd do a plug for YT Najahface. Watch her video on bad or natural hair ingredients. Just want you ladies to be mindful of the ingredients they use for black hair products. Also watch her Asthma video. Now I used to relax because it gave me that sleek asian/italian weave look. But after a bad chemical incident some summers ago. I put that stuff down. I just flat iron my hair now when I want it straight.

  • Myyyy looovvveee do you ever dream of, candy-coated rainnnndrops ^_^ Girl you have me doing the butterfly, backwards too :-P

I haven't viewed your channel in a while but I have always wanted to know what you used in your hair. I love apHogee too (except for their leave-in, I hate that one). I didn't know you colored your hair, it looks so good on your. Going off to browse other videos now

  • I'm vewing from Ireland, i like your accent. Where are you from?

  • Hi..I'm from Alabama

  • hello girls please help me i want to know how to make hair mayonnaise and others thinks which can make african hair tobe shine long and beautiful

  • Canadianlioness1 has a great hair mayo 3 or 4 part video series. Great for people with natural hair that only use natural products. I'm one of those people.

  • Hi girl, I gotta inform you on something. I saw that you mentioned you put vaseline on your hair, well, I think you should be aware that Vaseline is a by-product of gasoline! You hair is amazing though, it's nice and thick and long, but for real girl, I would cut out the vaseline, it's not good for you in the end. And you tuts are amazing :)

  • You're really pretty, I love your makeup!

    BK ^_^

  • Thanks! I guess the key is to keep it simple.

  • I'm glad you know about growing dandruff too. I say think to people of color and they're like, "what's that".

  • This was GREAT!!!

    Thanks so much!

  • thanks for the product video

  • Hi! Nice to see other AA women who take good care of their hair! I just thought I'd tell you though that the Creme of Nature Shampoos are being replaced by a new crappy/more expensive version in orange bottles. The old ones are still around in some places but probably not for long so you might want to stock up on them!

  • This is an awesome video!!! Thank you for sharing your regimen!

  • How long is your hair? I couldn't really tell from the video lol

  • It's a lil past my shoulders.

  • Your hair looks so beautiful and healthy. I like the way perms manage my hair but I could never take care of it

  • Im glad you showed these products, because I have bad nerves that cause breakage to my hair.and That's why you see me with the scarf on Most day's

  • Thank you sweetie, your hair is gorgeous!

  • I use that jet black rinse too. I do is every time i get a perm. How often do you get yours done?

  • Hi...same as you..everytime I get a perm:)

  • omg i love creme of nature! it does the job for real ;)

  • I use creme of nature also ..its does the job.

  • Thanks this is so helpful but I have one question. What do you do when you have mild breakage on your edges? I just have breakage there well it seems like my edges are thinning out a little bit. I don't get relaxers, and I don't put a lot of heat on my hair, so I'm not really sure why I have breakage there. Any info you can give me would be great.

  • Hi Angel..When your edges break, it's usually because of dryness, have your ends trimmed and then do a hot oil treatment.....you can try vo5 hot oil or make your own..I have a recipe on my beauty blog..Check it out and tell me how it works.

  • thanks so much !!!

  • also try dr.miracles procucts...he has a product for thinning edges :)

  • Girl, I thought you were going to say you just washed and conditioned! Those are a lot of steps:)

Thanks for the vid, I'm going to try that Aphogee. I have an individual packet of it and the conditioner you use after.

Great vid and I like your lips in this video=)

  • your makeup looks very polished!beautiful!, )

  • I have been watching your videos for about three months now. You are a wonder and I love what you are doing and have learned alot. Keep it up!

  • I don't know what happened to my post but good vid. Nothing to be disappointed about! :)

  • *doing the Candy Rain dance* :D

  • Great vid, Golden. Love your routine. Oh, I love Aphogee, too. :-)

  • girl i love the jams u be playin!!

  • Thanks for the info. But how do you trim your own ends. I know how to do it because i went to cosmetology school, but i can't trim my own. So how do you do yours?

  • Do you wrap your hair every night?

  • No..not at all..I lay my tail down and go to sleep..I can't stand anything on my head when I'm sleeping.
