this song is the song I researched for long years, it reminds me to my first love. He died by suicide. I got to know that just 2 yrs ago by his brother... christian you will be my first love forever! RIP!
@allybound - Thx so much! Its almost a wonder I found this song, after such a long time..! so much feelings when I hear this song, and so much pain, just to imagine "why he did this"! I just survived cancer, and that makes it more " I don't understand why!!!" --- Yes its sad!
I went to STM from sept 1975 to july 1983. I managed to get out of the original recording by using a fake dental appointment card...........the music teacher , Wendy Blanks , tore me off a strip for getting out of the shambles , in front of my form teacher Carmel Coughlan...........AS IF MY VOICE WAS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE !!! THE TRACK JUST MAKES ME SHUDDER............
I wanted so much to go to St.Thomas Moore because of this song but my mum sent me to Cardinal Manning. When we played them at football I asked if the girls in choir were still around!! I work in Fulham and both schools have now been closed down.
i was in this also, on the end of row two, would love to see the other one when we was on top of the pops for the second time. does anyone have a copy of ths
Ah memories. Went to Cardinal Manning in West London but wanted to go to Thomas Moore after I saw this on Top of the pops. Both schools are closed now.
I love this performance. Scott Fitzgerald's falsetto singing is remarkable. Many others sing falsetto but for a much shorter duration. Their impressive costumes add to the enjoyment
Great song , lets no forget jimmy , a lovely guy he is Resting in peace.

Scott Fitzgerald could have been a deputy Bee Gee back then with his falsetto voice.

This melody is taken from Camille Saint-Saens's 3rd (Organ) Symphony. I love it. Both versions.
