  • Look at that gorgeous chocolate goo coming out.. Lmao video amazing, speech amazing 5/5*

  • Hey David!

Yesterday (Valentine's Day) I made the Lava Cakes for my girlfriend. She was thrilled and the cakes were delicious. So it was a complete success. :)

Thanks for this easy and amazing recipe! :)

  • I only have 300g of chocolate, i dont have time to get more so how could i work that into the recipe?

  • @littlesmallworld123 If you only have 300g, it should be fine. 50g won't make a huge difference ;)

  • mommy whats food porn?

  • is there any substitute for ramekins? can an ordinary bake-able porcelain or clay bowl do the same trick? thx :D

  • @himynameisyumi Any individual sized cake tins or bakeware will be fine ;)

  • Food porn FTW!

  • hahahaa, you cheated ;) you took them out of the pot off camera before filming it cause there was no greaseproof on the top. But it does look deeeeeelicious

  • @ChefRoj The greaseproof paper was stuck to the top of the ramekin - why would I take it out off camera just to put it back in?!?!

  • i <3 chocolate volcano!!! wish i can try it right now but i dont have enough ingredient :'( plus, im so worried that it will turn out to be unsuccessful :'( oh btw, mr, one pot chef, if we don't eat the chocolate lava after like maybe after 5 minutes, will the whole cake become bit hardend? :s cuz i bought my friend's chocl8 lava before *didnt know where she got the recipe* and when it cold, it hardend a bit :(

  • @hotguylover619 Yes, the centre of the cake will go solid once it goes cold. So make sure you only bake them when you are ready to eat them! :)

  • @OnePotChefShow hi, may i please ask if they can be prepared couple of hours before and than baked just before serving?

  • @vella49 Yes that's fine ;)

  • Comment removed

  • is it bitter?

  • @STARellaa No, it's sweet ;)

  • mmhmhmhmmhmhmhhmmhmhmh!!! yummy!!!!

  • Yuuummmmmmmmmm!

  • The same set up as he is using to melt the chocolate can be used to make scrambled eggs. try it . (maybe I should make some cooking videos

  • i am just saying but food porn???

  • I'm too lazy to make mine so I get it at dominoes.

  • @sandykoong SAME haha omg :)

  • @MsColdsuns Hehe THEY ARE THE BEST!! I always get it everytime i get pizza.

  • @sandykoong :) i work at dominos :)

  • You know I realised the thing that makes your videos the most appealing is that they're done in your home.

  • OMG you cant imagine how I love chocolate volcano cake. Every time I go to these two cafes, I always get the cake

  • Those size of the remekin matter

  • haha get ready 4 the food porn 3:04

  • OMG

    I THINK IM IN LOVE!!!<3

  • Hey Mr.One Pot Chef Can I know Whether we have to baking powder or we can cook without baking powder

  • @Vimzik No need for baking powder in this recipe. See the ingredients list in the video description ;)

  • that is the best recipe i had ever saw i like it when the lava came out. can we take some chcolate instead of choclate chips

  • @kenta658 in referrance to other recipes YES! they took Chocalate or cocao powder mixin milk and melted it!

  • Amazing! Best recipe ever! Thanks so much:)

  • make bon bon chocolate or sachertorte *.*

  • Love! :) going to try it this Christmas!

  • OMG how did you get the chocolate to come out like without turning it into cake???

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is it safe to cook this without a condom?

  • David my mom and I had a contest on who could make a better lava cake. We did these for my uncle's party, and whoever won did not have to do the dishes (We had 10 people over so it was a legitimate amount of dishes including all the salads and main courses and drinks, etc.) Needless to say, I won unanimously (we all had a vote haha) Thanks David!

  • Oh god, that is total food porn.... Why doesn't he have his own show on the food network yet? Awesome commentator, funny, great food, and an Australian accent to boot. That's food network gold.

  • you're the original one pot chef....i love your recipes...!!!....<3

  • how come my chocolate went hard when I left it on the counter for awhile? It wasn't liquidy and silky as yours );

  • @STARellaa Once they are out of the oven, they must be served immediately, otherwise they will go hard ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow can you reheat them to make the center goowy again

  • @135CTDR Sadly no, once you cook them, they must be served immediately. So make sure you don't put them in the oven until you are ready to serve them ;)

  • after see this video i am feeling hungry

  • yumo dude!

  • im the EXACT 25000th viewerr !!

  • haha i like the chef tube sign on the fridge lol

  • When you pre-heat the ovan., is it fan forced or just normal pre heat? `subscribed`

  • @Guitarman1089 The temperatures given in my recipes are for non-fan forced ovens. If your oven is fan forced, reduce the temperature by 10-20 degrees Celsius ;)

  • "Food porn"! Haha. *Subscribed*

  • "Food porn"! Haha. *Subscribed*

  • Wow. What a great recipe on these volcano cakes! I order them at restaurants when they have them on the menu, but you made it look so easy! Thanks!!

  • i tried this but when i flipped the containers, well, the cake fell apart XD but it still tasted good :D

  • im in luv!!!!!!!!!!!! =]

  • Thanks for all your hard work. I love your channel! :)

Would it be possible for me to make these in large muffin trays as opposed to ramekins? If so, what adjustments would I have to make? Thanks!

  • HOW DARE YOU BREAK IT OPEN IN FRONT OF US!! lol...I love you, dave. YOU ARE AWESOME

  • When you leave it to long can you microwave it so that the inside will be melted again?

  • @mysterioushumanoid I recommend baking these as required, as reheating the lava cakes can be difficult ;)

  • you forgot to put a vanilla ice cream on top, and then you can call it food porn ;)

  • food porn

  • David have you ever had dominoe's (the pizza place) lava cakes? omg they are absolutely amazing. Im gonna make these and see if they can beat them, and I hope they do! I will give u the results

  • @MrButterworth24 I know they have them, but to be honest I stopped ordering Domino's pizzas ages ago, as they kept getting smaller and smaller. Eagle Boys make awesome pizza. Let me know what you think of this version of the Lava Cakes ;)

  • I just made this. It turned out amazingly!!! I impressed the whole family.

    Thanks, Dave!

  • you're crazy haha.. looks good mate!

  • Hi, I really wanna make this, but can I melt the chocoloate in the microwave and can I use a regular milk chocolate like Hershey's? please answer my question =] thanks!

  • @RosieTheBeast You can use any chocolate you like, but I recommend using a darker chocolate wherever possible. You can melt chocolate in the microwave, but you must be careful. Break the chocolate up, place in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in short bursts (10-15 seconds at a time) and stir between bursts. This helps to reduce the chance of the chocolate burning.

  • @OnePotChefShow Thanks You're awesome! You're a wonderful cook and you're one of the few youtubers that actually reply to the comments, thank you so much I'm watching all your videos now! and I'm subscribing too of course. :D

  • @OnePotChefShow hiyya there, I'm from india and I'm a 13 year old girl. Me and my mom thought of trying this recipe (WE LOVE YOU!) but I don't have access to my microvave since it has been sent for repair. Is there ANY other way to make this cake...say in a cooker or a deep pan or even a double boiler?

  • foodgasm.

  • Love ur recipe. Can we use self raising flour instread of plain, and dark chocolate bolck instead of chips?

  • @greentaxi Yes, you can use any chocolate you like as long as it's broken up (makes it easier to melt) but you need to use plain flour ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow if u cook it a littlre too much the cake dries up inside , that is correct isnt it?

  • Hello =)

I have a question. I want to make a big cake of lava cake, not these little ones. The reason is because I do not have the little white dishes you put them in. Can you help me make it in to a big cake? Like how much chocolate I should use etc. Please? =)

  • @281IzDaTcRoOk3d713 This doesn't really work as a big cake. It's designed for individual servings, as trying to serve up one giant lava cake would be difficult.

  • OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Can i keep the unbaked mixed ingredients in the fridge for few days and bake it later?

  • @kotkotyouw It's best to make the mixture as needed. Don't put it in the fridge or it will set and go solid.

  • Can i use mixer to mix all ingredients

  • @kotkotyouw It's better to do it by hand, so it doesn't get over-mixed ;)

  • Wow,looks delicious.can i mix the ingredients with mixer?

  • Food Request: MAKE DONUTS :)

  • Hey David, you never mention degrees celsius or Fahrenheit. I'm from Canada so I get really confused. Also can you substitute caster sugar for just plain white sugar?

Keep up the good work :)

  • @SelenaFraser Actually, I did say Celsius in the video. All my recipes are in Australian metric measurements and the temperature is always in Celsius ;)

  • When you're mixing with the wooden spoon, can i use an egg beater?

  • @wakawakasplat You can, but a spoon would be easier ;)

  • Just tried this and it was absolutely amazing :) thanx

  • do you have the written instructions for your recipes? =D

  • @sweetsyira There is a list of ingredients in the video description, but I don't do written instructions as that's what the video is for ;)

  • What kind of butter should we use? unsalted i reckon?

  • @JellyfishedSam Either kind will do, but unsalted is usually best for desserts ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow great! thanks :)

    LOVE your videos!

Best of luck all the way from Abu Dhabi, UAE !

  • how hot does the heat have to be to melt the chocolate?

  • @calapril418 The water should be simmering (on a low to medium heat)

  • @OnePotChefShow thanks for responding. My family loves your videos.

  • Now get ready for some food porn 

  • did he say food porn

  • you should makke donuts on your show:):):)

  • Great recipe.

Can I make the mixture in advance and store in the fridge or does it need to be made there and then?

    Thanks

  • @GravitationalFX I recommend making the mixture as needed, as it will go solid if kept in the fridge ;)

  • By 10 - 20 minutes, do you mean 15 mins. I want the cake I make to be perfect. It's for my mom's birthday.

  • @holymoly678878 By 10 - 20 minutes, I mean the cakes will be ready within 10 - 20 minutes. Different ovens have different times. Keep an eye on them ;)

  • can we do this on a microwave?

  • @Yengenzokeng No, this recipe needs to be baked in an oven ;)

  • This is like my recipe, I love it! Also sometimes I put in the centre of it cinnamon. It's simply awesome, like you and your channel!

  • You have pretty eyes xD

  • so how does the chocolate get inside...? im so confused. haha. does it just like not cook all the way?

  • @tweetybird99993 Essentially, that's exactly how it works. The batter on the outside turns into cake, the batter on the inside liquifies and becomes sauce :)

  • OMG!

  • Lol my heart got messed up on last comment :(

  • @hugapenguinxD LOL that's cool - it looks like an ear :)

  • Thank you! I love ur videos :) I'll comment when I get the chance to make them, they look delicious -3

  • I don't have the little white cooking pots is it okay to use cupcake pan with the cupcake paper cups?

  • @hugapenguinxD You can try, but it may be difficult to invert them one at a time. I recommend getting some ramekins (individual pots) for best results :)

  • @OnePotChefShow if i keep it in a fridge, then i reheat it,will the choc inside still melt?

  • @hotlonk Not really, these really need to be served immediately. They can't be made ahead of time :(

  • @hotlonk you can heat them in the microwave, not the same but it works.

Also if you want, you can put them in the fridge for few days and cook them when you need them. Just be careful to cooking time, you should cook them for a longer time.

I make them all the time! They're awesome, simple and GOOD.

    =)

(Sorry for my English, I'm Italian)

  • i followed the steps but it turned out abit more thicker compared to the one shown in video...any advice? XP BUT it is totally chocolicious

  • @fireflamerox If you mean the sauce came out thicker, that might simply mean your oven is a little cooler than mine. Next time increase the temperature by 10 degrees. If you were talking about the batter, check you measured the ingredients correctly, or simply add a small amount of hot water (about a tablespoon or so) and mix until you have the right thickness ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Thanks for the info! btw i tried putting in sliced strawberries and the sauce came out smoothly! bt cnt taste the strawberry much cus the chocolate overpowers it. But sliced bananas tasted nice XD others might wana give it a try!

  • ive been looking AALLL over the web looking for that perfect ooze of chocolate... and you've got it! so im definitely using your recipe!

  • OH.MY.GOD

    I AM MAKING THIS ASAP!

    thanks Dave-o :)

  • FOOD PORN?! O-o

  • "Oh look at that!!!!" that's all you needed to say.....

  • Finally I can watch these again... It's videos like this one that made me subscribe! Thanks for the recipe!

  • i can use normal chocolate bars?

  • @Coolshanny Yes, you can use normal eating chocolate ;)

  • How about just melting the chocolate in a microwave?

  • @ireoda To be honest, I prefer to melt chocolate on the stove - I find it's too easy to burn chocolate in the microwave ;)

  • Don't you have a mixer?

  • @Dobsessed Don't need one for this recipe ;)

  • delfuckingicious

  • I'm back an hour later and I didn't overbake this time! I'm so happy with the results! Delicious. (:

  • I made these yesterday and I over-baked it a bit! I'm retrying them again today. Hopefully it works this time.

  • "Doesnt this just look evil?"

No I disagree its more than evil

    its divine

    heavenly divine

    <3

  • How long did you cook it for?

  • @SoFreakingLegit 10-20 minutes. See 4:10 for more info ;)

  • Found your channel today and havn't stopped watching them ;D Keep up the great work! And I have subbed too :)

One Question though? In alll the videos I have watched of yours when you are melting the chocolate you have directly melted it in a pan or melted it in a bowl with steam, Can I as what is the difference? And in this one you used a metal spoon to stir the melted choclate, can't the metal affect the flavour of the chocolate?

    Thanks :)

  • @SWkangaroo You can melt chocolate directly in the pan if it's just going into a cake mix etc. But, if you are using the choc for coating something, you need to melt it in a bowl over the pan if you want the choc to look glossy after it cools.

This recipe is a bit of a contradiction, it's for a cake - but it's actually for the sauce, which we want glossy (confusing!!!)

Oh, I use a metal spoon while melting chocolate, because wooden spoons retain moisture, which can make choc split ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Thanks for the explanations ;) Keep up the great work and I have really enjoyed your videos!

  • thx also, what kinda cups do you use to bake them in? possible to use ceramic?

  • @dawnlollipop Yes, use any oven-proof ramekins or mini baking dishes. Ceramic should be fine ;)

  • hello what is the temperature you bake these in?

  • @dawnlollipop 200 degrees Celsius :)

  • Oh my god thank u this was amazing

  • @omar390z Yes, serve them as soon as they come out of the oven ;)

  • LOL food porn i loved it :D

  • are these the same as choclate fondants in the uk thanks keep uploading B-) x

  • @pingugirl01 Yes, Chocolate Fondants is another name for Chocolate Lava Cakes ;)

  • that batter looks good enough to eat!...

  • @burpofhunger LOL I know, I had to be a good boy and let it cook - but I was tempted to take a big spoonful ;)

  • So the "Lava" actually has some half cooked egg content??

  • @DarrenDiAntonio It comes from the melted chocolate ;)
