  • @sydkiker That is exactly what I was thinking. They are a phenomenal group and a bookstore is simply beneath them. I mean, I love bookstores more than the next guy, but this is ridiculous.

  • this song is soooooo sad but im singing the solo part in music so i loves it

  • This song is actually quite sad :(

  • O_O man. no accent or anything. this... is suppost to be with an accent... man... this...

  • @hannahterashow An accent? You mean that she should slap her knee and wave a shillelagh around? Hate to break it to you but the Irish are not the pre-1950's Aran sweater wearing troglodytes that you think they are. She's singing in a Balbriggan accent which unfortunately is as Irish as it gets.

  • This is fucking sad.

  • you use bad language when posting AND you don't know anything about music, hmmm...

  • @007mailer ... eh hem.... "sad" that they are playing in a corporate bookstore in the states. why must you assume the worst?

  • very niceeee

  • A stunning song made famous by Clannad on their 'Dúlamán' album. Clannad's is the best version, but Anúna and Orla Fallon's are STUNNING!

  • love it

  • This is really hard to hear.

  • I know this song only in Clannad version

  • I love this song! I think that my favourite version has to be Orla Fallons.

  • same here!!

  • Defiently! I love Orla!

  • i like this

    it sounds so splendid

    love the harmony

  • um...where did they pull these lyrics from...?

i grew up listening to relatives singing this, singing it in our school choir...and listening to clannad...not to mention the new celtic woman...I don't recognise some of the verses they are singing and they keep missing out the refrain "Is go dte tu mo mhuirnin slan" and also...she's singing it way too happily for the meaning of the song :S

  • Very Good

  • Who's the soloist? She's beautiful.

  • I believe her name is Órfhlaith Flynn. Órfhlaith is Irish for "Princess Tiaamii." (OK, I just totally made that up ...)

  • Orfhlaith means "golden princess" in Gaelic. It suits her, no?

  • It actually means Orf laith. It's a kind of ancient Irish tool used to laith orfs. I thought everyone knew that.

  • I've always though that Or= golden, Flaith= princess

  • Yeah, lots of people think that. OK, probably millions.

  • thats true. direct translation and all

  • in Gaeilge. things from ireland are gaelic but the language is called gaeilge

  • Oh, ok. I didn't know that. Thanks, I'll make a note of that. :)

  • Beautiful despite the noise of the customers and the crappy acoustics, they belong in a church or a cave... that would sound much better than in a store...

  • Awesome! despite the acoustics

  • I like that version:)

  • The poor people...their voices sound WAY better in an environment such as a theatre where there voices can echo.

  • No question. But ... this was a promotional tour. I'm sure they knew that the acoustics would suck.

  • Just saw them in Columbus,Ohio and they were AWESOME. I got to meet Órfhlaith Flynn (and the others) after the show. She is just a pretty in person.

  • Órfhlaith is, to employ the ancient Irish word, babelicious. But the concertmaster Miriam Blennerhassett - who is NOT in her 20s, NOT blonde, and NOT sopranino - is one of the loveliest and most vocally gifted women roaming the earth.

  • I'm seing them on Oct 3, 2007. I can't wait.

  • its too bad they aren't getting the regognition they deserve, touring Borders instead of Civic Centers. At least they'll be on PBS though

  • They're touring Borders to promote their new CD. (Smart.) They're also promoting their PBS show AND a string of major concert hall shows in the US. So I'd say they're getting plenty of attention.

  • I'm angry as hell! I've always been a big fan of theirs for years, and I saw that they were at my local Borders and I totally missed it! I just want to cry! :-( Why don't they promote these things better!?

  • Vlad, I feel your pain! I did manage to see them due to a poster at Borders, but I didn't see any mention of it elsewhere. I've missed many other shows (by other artiests) due to lack of promotion....And in LA, you'd think they'd promote the heck out of something like this!

  • not the main soloist but the blonde hair girl has a lovely tone 2 her voice, ilove this song, but i prefer the recording with the whole choir

    thanks for posting

  • Oh ... she's OK, I guess. :-)

  • ha ha you mean she is phenomenal and fantastic.
