I am really impressed by Melissa's playing so much so I have been looking for copies of her two CD's, I have manged to download 'Melissa in Concert' from Amazon but without covers, if anyone has this CD and is willing to send me scans of all the covers please contact me, I will be very appreciative. I am also trying to find a copy of From The Heart but to date have had no success even after contacting both Melissa and the recording company who have not even bothered to reply to my e-mails.

Back in the early 70's, just after I became a "lifer" in the US Army, this "song" started getting some popular radio air-play, and some of my older cohorts talked about having this, rather than "Taps" played at their (military) funerals. I am now approaching the end of my life, and want this played instead of "Taps" when the time comes. And if this beautiful young woman were to do me the honor of playing, who knows, I might rise from my eternal sleep!

Well what's so Magic about Maastricht and Limburg that Amsterdam doesn't have? People from Amsterdam can speak perfect English, people from Maastricht and Limburg barely can speak properly Dutch. Often are dyslectic and have problems with pronunciation with the easiest Dutch words. You won't be helped first time, first paying and then the greets. Say no to Maastricht. For the rest they are all quite to the right in this concert

A beautiful piece played extremely well by this young lady, although this was recorded a couple of years ago now, there are other pieces on here from her as she is now a little older. She will go far with such a gift.

Oh and for those mocking the embouchure and slightly off centre of the mouthpiece, if you play at all, try it yourself, once practised, the slightly softer part of the lip produces such tone as she has.

Here is Taps played in its entirety. The Original version of Taps was called Last Post, and was written by Daniel Butterfield in 1801. It was rather lengthy and formal, as you will hear in this clip, so in 1862 it was shortened to 24 notes and re-named Taps.

It is a very good performance-- however it is quite apparent that it is a recording. I have noticed the same 'effortless' technique with the girl that played 'jakety sax' on the saxophone. Their mouth & facial muscles do not move relative to the wind needed to support this music.

It's original title is "The Funeral". But... "Il Silenzio" ~ yeah, that works too.

@BIGMUDDYDOG ~ A piece called 'Il Silenzio' may well be attributed to them, but it would seem to be plagiarism, because the piece on the soundtrack of 'The Return of Ringo'/'Il Ritorno di Ringo' which came out in 1965 is called "The Funeral" and is IDENTICAL. My feeling is that Nini heard it (it's not the well-known song; just a little piece) and thought, I can perform that!

It's unlikely BUT POSSIBLE Nini's hit was heard and was thought suitable. Why uncredited on the soundtrack releases?
