Eric Clapton is a music legend, famous worldwide, and you're just a guy pretending you know some shit about music. I'm sure Clapton got more talent in his facial hair than you in your whole body. Show some respect.

fuck it ruins the song a little more each time i see this..
i mean really when he says " ain't gonna be your dog?" are you convinced or he sounds like anyold tart that plays tab music as some sort of copycat musician.
I must admit, your message did make me laugh. He's up there with Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix and all the other Guitar Gods of this age. Copycat musician? Please.

haha,
well this is a song by big bill broonzy.. i'm merely annoyed at the local groups everywhere that are immitating artists.. however eric does make this song his own.. its just his own singing style is booooring! he doesn't cry! hes jus reciting the words. guitar and musical genius.. of course.. convincing storyteller? maybe if he wasnt a brit!

?? Are out of your fucking mind? Listening to this album, I said 'fuck, this guy is far beyond just a guitarist.' Want belting? Check out Derek and the Dominoes. Christ, amid all the bullshit singers out there, wake the fuck up.
William Bryan Campbell.....died by suicide March 16th 2008....his fiftieth birthday...he is missed everyday.....This song was one of his favorites....he was and is my pops...i'm 25 and love Clapton blues...thank you for posting this vid
I can play most of this song, but I get confused to which parts are played by the other guitar, and which are played by Clapton. Obviously it is impossible to play with just one guitar easily!
let me begin by saying that i think eric clapton is one of the top 10 or even top 5artists of all time, much higher than the #53 that rolling stone magazine ranked him. i also think he is the #1 guitarist of all time, better than jimi hendrix and higher than the #4 that rolling stone ranked him. having said that, he does have a way of making music "un-fun". listen to the bill broonzy version of this song for comparison. i know it's the blues and all, but eric needs to lighten up a bit sometimes.
Maybe you don't understand... a year before this concert his 5 year old son, Connor, fell out a NYC appartment window over 20 stories and died. I don't know about you but it would take me more than a year to get over that.
And besides, I've NEVER thought of any of this album's music as "un-fun". It's just laid back. Every song on it is great.
Because pay more attention to fanciness than groove. I think it was said here before somewhere in the comments and I just can't disagree; Broonzy does put a lot more drive into it.

wit does unplugged mean? ^
jeepneyproduction 3 years ago
as in the guitar is not plugged into an amplifier. just a acoustic guitar and classical guitars.
guitar550 3 years ago
doesnt it just mean "not electric guitar" like some unplugged concerts have the acoustic guitars plugged into amps.. not necessarily mic'ed
Guitar4Life2007 3 years ago 3
yes i suppose but this version is just miced. any acoustic is classed as unplugged
guitar550 3 years ago
Unplugged means "Not Connected"

Interesting how Clapton needs a back up guitarist for this -where as Big Bill Broonzy plays it all by himself on one guitar.

i have no idea why people have given you thumbs down because your absolutely right! Eric Clapton doesn't play it anywhere near as well
russelsheartinacage 3 years ago
eric clapton doesn't NEED a rythm guitarist. andy fairweather-low was invited on the show to play alongside him for all of the songs.
