  • sxephil owns your shitty lil vids. respect the people who know how to make it big.

  • wow

  • good vid, cant see the pimple ;]

  • Who do you think you are woman

  • Exploration is good. Maybe. Except when peril shows up. ha

Though, often more interesting than the same the same ol' same ol'.

ps Good to you for keeping your focus with all going on in the background. No way could I do that. : )

  • idiot

  • Honestly we don't need 6 feet of headroom on that shot

  • man, your desk is clean. i'll have to show mine. ok, maybe not. lol. peace

  • I had way over 1000 that I had subscribed to, and close to 300 subscribed back, but roughly speaking, only about 20 of them support my work, I more than appreciate the ones that do, but where's the rest of them? So I decided to thin out the ones I subscribed to, and unsubscribed the ones that don't seem interested in my videos.

  • You also seem to get more subscribers than views. Like you said, people have their own little groups... My daughter got accused of being to poor to decorate her oscar tank on her channel/Binks6972 and ordered to decorate it in her next video. My husband is a carpenter, we own our own house, and my daughter is single and has a full time job, were not rich, but rich enough to be content!

  • Mabie some people feel like they don't belong, you can get some pretty rude comments, I've deleted the rude ones and blocked, but it stays in the back of your mind and you wonder if others feel the same way about your videos... especially when you get alot of VIEWS, but hardly any comments or ratings... I have removed over ten of my videos that people don't seem that interested in and have often thought that mabie I should be removing alot more...

  • Everyday it comes down to seeing how I feel in general before engaging the site itself. It is no longer just up to the site to tell me how things are, I have to see if I am willing to suffer though the crap to get anything good out of it at all.

  • yup still trailer...

  • ooo wish ya could prop yer feet up on that desk lol :))

  • Hey Lea -- please read this news story from CNET on the coming NEW AD-TYPES for YouTube, according to Google mgmt:

    news(dot)com/8301-10784_3-9939704-7.html

    thx

  • though i can understand why people dislike him, i will defend sxephil to my grave, he is a good man, a smart man, and a mostly honourable man. and he makes good vids. i would sooner denounce universal music group, or cbs.

  • People start a community, idealists who understand the fundamental concept join and speak their mind, media covers 'new trend', noobs watch coverage of 'new trend', noobs join the community, the community dilutes. Welcome to the internet.

  • "sxephil" talks about crap and loves boob center pics!

  • I definitely understand every point you made. I haven't experienced yet the negative side of my friends on YouTube. But one thing's for sure, I'll never leave. I might go on vacation for a bit or something, but I've really started to find a home on YT and most of it's thanks to you. You've really given me strength and confidence to be who I really am on the camera. So this has become a thank-you comment. I love you. <3 See you soon. Have a great week.

  • rocketman is one of my alltime favorite songs too btw.

  • good video, you said alot, seems when i say what i feel its hating and i get a video made about me... and now it seems thats what your saying the community is lacking... well none the less i have another channel, and plan to be speaking my mind much. yt has not jumped the shark i find new channels i love everyday.

    5ive.

    peace.

  • wow, all bloggers are fucking retrded...get a life u people!!!!!!!!!

  • but then nobody would be here to answer you bullshit comment buddy...gee be thankful for something will ya?

  • Great video Lea. I was just talking about this the other day to Mogirl69. I think it's a combination of several things that is making YT a bit dull lately. One big one in my opinion is videomakers are trying to emulate TV and we didn't come here to watch TV. I'll try and keep up my game. : )

  • katie: yeah, we are not tv.

did you see if you are able to view your mail from your offsite acct? another idea is that you could direct ppl to a new email address thru your channel description...

  • Yeah...I can't view mail from my offsite account. Bummer. Hopefully they can figure it out. I put a new email address in the channel description but people aren't reading it cause I keep getting messages in my YT account.

Have a lot of people been contacting you about this? Just wondering.

Thanks so much Lea for taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it. : )

  • I came here to be a radical rejecter of the main stream media, now I'm just one of the Borg.

  • lolol...oh not the borg

do you straight up reject it, or is it more that it doesnt interest you? thats where i am...

  • I try to reject it the msm, a defensive mechanism to resist assimilation. But some times through the two step flow process I detect amusing and sometimes insightful works. But usually it's just spoon fed formulaic crass commercialistic crap. Advertisements thinly disguised as human expression, or worse, the other way around.

  • Ppl at work must think you are crazy. Get back to work:P

  • lol...if you work hard enough, ppl wont care if you are crazy...

  • FREE MIKE!

  • D*mn spammers are everywhere!

  • comment!

  • and

  • rate

  • Please

  • 5 SPAM rating!

  • Great video!

  • I don't know how anyone can say YT doesn't have anything to offer anymore. This place is a virtual smorgass board,it has a little of everything!

  • My videos haven't changed they're still mediocre.

  • lol...ppl flying off shit is not mediocre to me =)

  • Thank you! :o)

Maybe someday I'll learn how to do a better job editting.

  • I'll be here until they suspend me for spamming!

  • YT is what each of us makes of it.

  • Never say never! When I was 14 traveling through the seattle area I said "I'll never live here" 14 years later I was living there!

  • seattle....too cold to swim much of the year there huh? hmm....

  • Too gloomy in the winter, lousy traffic, and way too many people. The lakes and streams are warm enough for swimming in the summer but the puget sound is frigid all year round.

  • Hi Lea!

  • LMAO

i may have to start reading these in vids...you are gifted.

  • the key is getting out there and looking for the good content as jipsi also said in his last video. Good video

  • I have a real hard time vlogging and I believe it shows in my videos. lol

I can only speak for myself but it seems you must always be PC about everything, no matter what you say...it'll offend someone and it could spark a hate campaign and some people get carried away so I don't speak my mind freely and I'm extremely careful about the topics. I hold back a lot and purposely keep my channel small! I've been trolled heavily in the past. Let the trolls, troll themselves.

  • oh, and the stalker problem. I've watched many people stalked right off of YT because of a difference in opinion or someone stepping on the wrong toes.

Yes, I hold back a lot.

  • hard balance eh? practice safe video, but say what you want...

i stay away from some topics b/c i dont like fighting w ppl. thats why you wont see a bunch of religion or politics on my channel.

  • I think a lot of it has to do with summer. We should have a comedy week where we can only post funny vids.

  • Hi Justin!

  • Yo fly what it is cuz!

  • Another day on the tubes.

  • hey jason did you ever see any vids on this supposed original acct scientology had?

  • Great video Lea, digging the spontaneity. Nice office btw :p

  • rocketman!

  • I think you hit the nail right on the head when you said a lot of people once they become partners try too hard and quit being real. I've seen that happen quite a few people I used to watch. If something looks forced to me I will start to tune out.

  • thanks and i am the same way. i dont like stuff thats too contrived. when i write or have ideas, its stuff that came naturally. lol, organic if you will.

  • i need to shut up, i never fit in...

  • sometimes i think everybody fits in here..we are such diverse population...

    plz never shut up

  • They'll shut me up when they pry my spam from my cold dead hands!

  • I'd hate to sound corny, but perception is everything. If you look for negativity you will find it. If you are open to finding this feeling of "excitement" you will get it. I became aware of this when studying urban planning long before "The Secret" came out. Our mental image of a community has a lot to do with how vibrant it is.

  • true true...do you think we are vibrant?

  • You mocking me? lol. I meant lively and full of energy. It isn't as active as it once was. We lost a lot of good people, but new people like thebdonski are popping up. There's still a lot of undiscovered talent out there. This jumping the shark talk has gained some acceptance. The Danny Diamond response was surprising to see. I guess this shark talk has affected him. It may help if the featured clips page had more community involvement in order to give more credit where it is due.

  • mocking you? of course not. am trying to understand where everybody is comin from.

i agree that we need more from the community in the featured section...

  • great video. I've lost interest lately. I guess when I first started watching everything wasn't so pc. I guess I feel like I never get to see new vlogs. When I go to the top videos it's all porn. Not even good porn! but honestly I am just burnt out.

  • thanks missjew. yeah de-tubing can be good when you are burnt out

  • yeah.

  • all indications are for a lulzy month of May

  • Nice cubical. I have my own office.

  • sweet

  • Despicable humans like Sxephil? How can anyone find him despicable? Maybe unwatchable, OK. But nobody even knows that guy.

I don't see anyone leaving or closing accounts.

I must be on a different YT.

The one thing nobody has mentioned is that Roger has left a huge vacuum here on YT.

    I miss Roger.

  • lol...hi victor....

    vacuum indeed.

  • Well for some reason my sub to you didn't take so I didn't get this vid...I replied on Danny's though. I actually agree with Danny. I don't think the community is gone, or YT is becoming useless, it's just really getting filled with crap and it's harder to find good channels.

  • hey jeff...yeah i dont know why i bother going to the most viewed anymore

  • first off, the program is a farce. secondly, i feel bad for anyone who is stupid enough to think they should hold back because they have graphics and autoplay on a website. there aren't many people in life who do whatever the fuck they want... it doesn't surprise me in the least that it's the same here.

  • jasonERF: yeah i like doing whatever i want. it rulz. people need to loosen up again.

as for the partner thing...you know youtube demonetizes vids? lame. i bet thats why some are opening secondary channels.

oh and whats wrong w my framing?

  • i actually noticed that we have a different process for our newest channel for monetizing vids but at this point i don't care... it's a joke.

  • new process? oh do tell...pm?

  • JP: A lot of the problem that you mention is the cliques - they tend to watch and ONLY watch each other. I mean, I'm personally part of one-ish, but I acknowledge the other people out there who I love to watch. I'm kind of saddened by that I guess, I wish we could get the groups together instead of be all split apart randomly. But that's kinda up to us I guess.

  • jp: i like to watch a lot of different ppl...i think variety is good....

  • This is no good Lea we can't see below the neckline. No good at all..corndickcheesesomethingorother...

  • sam i am so sorry that making sure you see my boobs is not a priority when i am shooting...

    =)

  • wow, lea! guess I was under a rock yesterday... just seeing this vid now. an interesting discussion... only time will tell if YT has/is about to jump the shark. I agree with the things the young man wrote in his email... and still there are hilarious people and new characters like bdonski who keep me anchored here, waiting to see whats next. I do think that, even if YT remains a popular site for some time to come, the novelty has worn off we've moved from "new love" to "in a relationship" hehe

  • oh no...now we're dating. i want flowers dammit.

  • alright but i draw the line on candy and expensive dinners...

  • humph. you must not know how shit works

  • whats rong with sxephil????

  • rock on sistah!

  • hehe hey gina =)

  • I've noticed a whole new group of YouTubers vlogging and making videos. The controversial vloggers have left and spawned a whole new generation of chronically happy and entertaining peope. No, it's not real. No, it's not substance. It's fluffy entertainment. Now, who said YouTube had to be down to earth? On a brighter note, starbrite is back.

  • robert: yeah great to see jyl. fluff is annoying. your vids rock lately tho, always something different.

  • People on this site are going to come and go. I went...and then I came back, but I want others who I really liked to come back here and post vids. Who cares about the most subscribed or most viewed lists. Find new people to sub to and stop supporting garbage. I have un-subbed to more and more "big time" partners(not all of them because there ARE good partners) who don't really care if you subscribe or comment on their videos and I have replaced with smaller people. Everyone should do the same.

  • justin: i am glad you came back. you speak your mind, thats for sure. respect.

and yeah i have unsubbed from most of the big guys too.

  • and you have really nice hair!

  • thanks! as for phil...well...i wouldnt know where to begin.

  • why do poeple not like sxephil?

  • Because he is a cheating, scamming, e-begging piece of shit.

  • but why do you think that?

  • It seems clear that youtube is becoming people's diving board for a profesional acting career, and the average joe suffers. Unless you invest a couple grand in equipment it doesn't seem likely you'll get anywhere at this point in time.

But I try to continue to use youtube in the spirt that I think it was designed, and try to enjoy the community and find people I find interesting.

There is only so much self promotion I can stomach, and there's a lot of it out there on youtube right now.

  • great comment....

  • I kinda disagree. One can have a professional look and go no where, and it is still possible for someone with a shitty webcam, but great content to go somewhere. For the most part people don't give a flying fuck about fancy editing or pristine video. It's all about content. If someone has shit that is interesting it will flourish. It is just more difficult to get noticed nowadays cause the little guy has to compete with the corporate bullshit.

  • horace: what do you consider "somewhere?" examples?

  • Somewhere meaning building a respecable viewership and possibly getting the notice of someone in the industry that may be the catalyst in some type of endevour outside of YT. If one is an aspiring actor/actress, YT can be a vehicle to get noticed by someone who may be able to help you out. And that is still possible even for the poor starving artist who only has a shitty webcam. If there is true talent there people will see that, and the people in the industry will see it too.

  • Personally having shitty equipment makes a person look more real to me. Some of the early YT "celebs" seemed more real when back in the day when they did their shit with a Walmart webcam. Then when they got their partnership they upgraded the equipment and made more "produced" vids.

  • And those "produced" vids just didn't do it for me anymore. Again, its content, content, content. Again that is for the aspiring actor/actress. I have unsubbed from quite a few people who started to look like they were trying too hard and not being real anymore.

  • wow. now thats an explanation. and i dig it, but i dont remember seeing anybody w a shitty webcam having any fab endeavors outside yt.

  • With time comes change.

    We are here.

You just have to find us.

  • agreed ^^

  • Indeed

  • aww...thats a sweet comment =)

  • I have my momentary lapses of grace.

  • oh dont worry me too

  • I will not fret you.

  • GEEISSSSUSUS... I tried commenting 3x...

    1) I made a channel for some good mojo and support for Anakin since he was rejected 2x for partner

    2) Sometimes there are people who don't spend time to get to know others outside their circles.

    3) Why do people get so negative? Be the change you want to see in the world. Bitching is EASY TO DO.

  • maria: it seems they have been turning down lots of great tubers. sucks. i wonder if they will kick themselves in the asses later.

  • L: I've been keeping a list on the channel for anakin.... it's mad crazy...

  • whats the channel name again?

  • anakin1814fansite

  • awesome song in the background...you still make cool movies...still watching ya...

  • thanks stretch love ya =)

  • I don't gravitate toward controversy, and for those who crave this they can create their own. However I don't see much open and frank dialog, so I agree with that part, and much effort is put into production quality rather than content in so many videos, and that ok but tedious. It was good of you guys to talk to us on WingSpansRadio on stickam tonight, it'd be nice if you made it a regular thing, to do an open forum like that. But it was hard to follow the verbage and text simultaneously.

  • I was only being a little cheeky when I suggested you guys use a different name, other than Underground, (like The Happy Daisy Group). The term "underground" seems to imply a subversive, unsanctioned, rebellious energy and if that's not what you are about then I don't understand the use of a term that many already connect with such traits. If the philosophy of being true to yourselves is the defining characteristic, then that name might misdirect. I'm so tired. I wonder what I just wrote...

  • i do think that we are rebellious lol...will write more when i am less tired

  • Agreed! I have a hard time expressing my total self cuz I know certain family members watch..ones I never wanted watching in the first place..lol. There are also cliques that seem impossible to be a part of and I have backed away so I don't look like I have to be desperate for their acceptance. Cuz...frankly, I'M NOT!

  • tammy: good point re acceptance...you gotta just be you...

  • we must admit you tube is our fantasy life.. nothing else, cant take it too seriously.. good vid

  • fantasy is good...hope things are good down unda =)

  • I didn't see a pimple. and I think it's just change. Everyone will go through it. and those who are strong will see it through. ;)

  • sue: ok its not there lol

have you moved yet? i need to go by your channel...

  • It was a great ramble! :)

  • thanks gg! ramble on lol

  • I personally do not come here for controversy. I have enough of the BS in my real life. This is my "unreal" life where I can have fun and be upbeat and meet new people as well. I don't like drama. I've got enough, TYVM. I *could* open an account and spew shit all over the things I see wrong here, but ...why? It wouldn't DO anything, at least for me.

Now, as for the partnership program, I think it fucked up a few people. The people who are being denied are becoming incredibly bitter. Wanting to

  • leave or take a break. I say GET OVER IT. I mean WTF? I laughed when I was denied. I DESERVED to be denied. Have you seen how many copyright issues I have? HAHAHA Music and TV shows and everything, oh my. Did it hurt? Not in the slightest. So you ask why did you apply? For the sheer reason that if I made $, I could send it to some of my subs who barely live paycheck to paycheck. Their lights turned out, etc. But I just have to say...you will get out of YT what you put into it.

  • beth: great comment. i didnt even know you applied...i hope you know you are one of the best vloggers we have

  • Did it in late November and it took them until February to waddle through all of my crap and get me an answer. Think of the poor person who had to do that. Bless their heart. That was some kind of revenge I was looking for! :)

  • oh beth...they just dont know...its their loss

  • Youtube is just getting more popular so the same problems 2 years ago are growing because of the audience size. Its going to get worse as Youtube gets more popular too,lol...That is just how it works on this planet..more people, more drama...I can understand how she feels but I guess I have lived too long to be shocked. ~Raven

  • raven: yeah i both agree and disagree w him...

that email was fabulous btw. you have a great mind.

    =)

  • Lea, I agree...He had valid points for sure...I go through seasons here...sometimes I spend only my time in the community. Lately, I have been watching alot of documentaries and just for fun, typing in some country that I know little about, and blown away at what I see and learn. No-one in my family can understand,lol...but I like the power of choosing what I can watch. I cant do that on TV. ~Raven

  • I love it here. I was sitting with my sister the other day and she said that she had never seen an autopsy. So, I go into a search engine and find her a full-on autopsy. I couldnt watch it,lol..but the COOL thing about here is I can watch anything and find anything on Youtube. I would cry if Youtube left but I wouldnt cry if TV was gone. ~Raven

  • I have a crooked nose and crooked teeth. I wish I just had a pimple.

  • well hopefully you have a straight...never mind..lol

  • i thought danny daimond wrote that letter!

  • you never know with that danny diamond character...

  • I think that people are burned out. Copyrighted material fills up the front page. YTE are not doing enough.

  • YTE? what is YTE?

and yeah the front page is usually shit.

  • Youtube Editor, Lea.

  • we are the problem

  • haha we usually are arent we...

  • We're also the cure!

  • I think the elite status of the partnership has dissolved. Though it has forced some people to look at the content that they have already produced to see why they weren't accepted (i.e- disgusting content, ability to entertain, language, interaction and so on...). With this meld happening, it seems as there may be more "Oneness" with YT as a whole, where as one was "envied" to be a partner...now almost everyone can say they are friends with one.

  • Great video, btw.

  • you have a great point lez...

liked what you were saying on the show tonight, thanks.

  • I can relate, I miss Mike Skehan and TheBoringDispatcher so much...wheres the drama???????????

  • thanks for sharing my email

  • PRIVATE email

  • dammit eddie! nobody would have known!

  • LOL!

great rant Lea, I see you even managed to get DannyDiamond to respond with a video!

  • yeah danny is a trip...i dont agree w everything he said...but that was a great vlog from him.

  • Eddie, bring on the drama!!!pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • are you wearing sunglasses inside just like sxephiL!?!?! ;-p

  • haha NO! its just that the light is so bad...so bad...

  • Five Stars Lea!!

  • thanks madbad!

  • I've seen this cycle many times since Youtube started: a clique of people discover Youtube, then act like they invented it, then get tired of each other (because that's ALL they're looking at, a small group of each other) and start complaining that there's nothing on, then a new group discovers Youtube, making videos that were already made by others last year, then the new group starts thinking they invented Youtube.....over and over and over again.

  • round and round it goes...

  • round and round...great song lol

  • Bring back the jump suites?

  • marquis: great point. i think this is why i have so many subscriptions and why i let the number grow. i like a lot of diff ppl.

  • I think your observation, at the end, was very accurate. WE make our own community. When you lock into one group of people, and the dynamic changes, it "seems" like things have changed all around us. Roger was never about "the drama", unlike some, who only did (& do) what they did, to troll people, and for attention. Roger was a critic, but he was honest, and when he went too far, would admit it. The DramaLamas take things offline, and never discuss anything that happens outside of YT.

  • Many of Roger's vids were about other events/people, and his offline life. He didn't need the attention. It's funny that people that constantly attack people, are guilty of the same things, or worse. YT is a BETTER place without that crap. If people were here just for the drama, it can still be found other places. Even when that garbage pops up, it has a lot less traction than it used to, because the people who start the fires have lost all credibility.

  • I think those who complain the most, have never been impacted by something serious enough to put YT into perspective. I think I go to Stickam less, and less, because so many people just want to discuss YT. My closest friends (that i've made on YT) and I, have conversations about things completely unrelated to YT a majority of the time

  • great input allen. respect =)

  • Drama sells. Contrived drama sells more. I hate it. That's why I run a nonfiction channel.

    :)
