I have an almighty collection of books, the catalyst for which was Amazon and its reviews, recommendations etc. The internet gains my access to any book I desire on the planet. Boom. Good vid.
Internet makes me more open minded, easier to get the info, nd there are many diff perspective , however books r so boring, yu only read wut the author tell yu, nd it's more complicated to understand especially english is my second language.
"People my age have no social skills anymore and talk about garbage that doesn't matter."
You made my point for me. I ask that you either add an argument that contributes -- I don't care if it's positive or negative, as long as it mean something -- or stop trolling.
I agree with her completely and what she said is more and more obvious in society. People my age have no social skills anymore and talk about garbage that doesn't matter. They also don't seem to comprehend much of what we read in school, have poor grammar and language skills and are out of shape. You have a fat face and aren't very attractive does that mean a pretty girl automatically has better taste then you? NO. Naturally, a couch potato like you would defend the use of computers and TVs.
Doris Lessing is a Nobel Prize winner! The fact that you reference her age as though it discredits her makes you sound like an idiot!! I'm 22 and I realise this!
Are you suggesting she is somehow unable to learn how to use televisions and computers because she was born in1919? You sound like your mocking a very accomplished, respected woman because she is old?? I'm sure she knows very well how to use both TVs and computers!
you wouldnt know doris lessing without the internet? the "irony" in that statement is that it proves your an utter idiot.
complete gibberish.
LOL its hilarious how you call her "doris" like she is your pal- its not proper to refer to such an important figure without a reasonable amount of deference shown.
Just wanted to comment to tell you that I used you're blog here in my university communications paper. Im a second year communications student and i was doing an essay on the validity of the Internet, and your blog just blew me away. It's far more eloquent and well supported than most of the scholarly essays Im researching. I gave you full credit of course, under your Youtube alias. Thanks for posting such amazing material!
Thanks, twinfools. I'm very flattered! I'm also glad you were able to use some of the arguments in the video to further your paper. That's a prime example of how I feel the Internet is contributing to the world of knowledge, not limiting it. Good luck on your paper and in your studies!
The age of books is not over. Only that they have to be better. Internet has democratised the publishing industry. It may be a reason some award winning books of yore look ridiculous now. The consciousness has grown, not gone retarded.
I found your video very interesting. What I can see and that worries me is that Internet in creating a sensation of knowledge in some people that is not real, it is only data but they do not process the data really well. This sensation of knowledge has many blind spots and is creating a new "know everything" but know a bit man. I believe in average Doris is right but certainly we can not generalize this idea. At least if you read a book you have to finish this to say I read this book.
How about ebook?

The Internet is a wonderful source of information, but we don't want to neglect books.
